The Coral Vanda's Sharkskin lounge.
World: Pantolomin
Sector: Dolomar
Co-ordinates: K-9

This was the life. The place had a crowd tht was at least awake, the drinks were pouring and he got to do what he loved. Sing some of the great tunes of yesteryear. After a few numbers he'd get know the crowd, and finish the first half of the set with Goola Bukee. But the lhouse lights dimmed, he checked the sit of his collar and his hair as the curtains peeled back. His heart sored as he took a step forward with his old recording of Modal Notes by the late, great Fingrin D'an.

His blue suit splashing colour onto the previously dark stage. Conrasting nicely with the wooden floor and his own brown hair. Smiled to all the faces out there, so many different species and so many stories he could grab out from the galaxy and collect. "Thank you, I'm so glad to see so many of you lovely people here tonight." He could hear the delayed chatter of separate translator units at the tables that didn't have Basic fluent patrons. He took a measured breath, and switched into Huttese. "-And we here aboard the good cruiser Coral Vanda, would especially like to welcome all the weary star travellers tha thave graced our humble establishment with their presence.-" He moved about the stage, his pearly grin and light step in time with the changes from the eats and Omnibox and turning at the glissando of the Fanfar and Fizzz. He took note of a charming Twi'lek couple encapsulated with his opening. Returning to Basic he moved to the next number, turning to the stage band, a nod coming from the yellow skinned Devaronian leader. "We do sincerely hope you all enjoy the show. And please remember, whether you miss the twin Suns of home or the fog coming in among the Wroshyr trees in the morning- pardon my accent ma'am, its a work in progress. But whatever your faults, who you are or what you do, you're welcome to pull up a chair and relax here in the Sharkskin Lounge." With that the band swelled and they moved into Gusha Chik Youngee or Lucky Dancer girl, an old Huttese ballad they gave the full Jizz treatment.

Leaning on the back wall, Minerva fully clad in Mandalorian armor watched the lounge with arms crossed the chest. This is a waste of my talents. Waiting on some rich sleemo who wants to show off to his cronies. He better pay those credits. The mercenary thought with irritation.

There are various people and species present in the place she noted. Subsequently some fellow in a suit announced tonight’s entertainment. How do people like him deal with playing dress up for this glorified circus. Because I certainly wouldn’t stand it. Minevra shook her head at the very idea.

Not long after the merc began to listen to the music. Crazy enough she began to relax, enjoying the tune. “Guess this is not a complete waste of time.” Minvera whispered to herself. She actually enjoyed many different types of music though she tried not broadcast that fact while on job.

Another day another port for Jago. Though he had a feeling he'd like this place since it was an aquatic world like his own home world. Though of course he only could image it was like Glee Anselm, since the Nautolan had never actually seen the home world of his people. Such was the way of a traveling Matukai adept, though he did long to see the place someday in his travels. Jago wandered around the port just having stepped off the freighter that brought him here. He'd gained passage and some creds from doing some work with the crew. He wandered toward the city proper and saw numerous flyers and signs advertising, oh a submersible casino and hotel? He'd heard of casinos on his travels, but had never been able to actually see one. His curiosity piqued he headed in the direction the signs indicated.

A little while later and a few credits lighter Jago walked through the corridors of the vessel marveling at all the sights and sounds. In his life he'd never seen anything like the splendor on display in the Coral Vanda. His wandering was interrupted as he heard something that cut through the various lights and sounds of the casinos. He looked and saw the wonderful sound was coming from the Sharkskin Lounge. He stepped inside and could clearly hear the wonderful music now. Jago smiled widely and took a seat at an empty table toward the back of the lounge and simply enjoyed the music. The human performer ,who didn't look much older than Jago, had a terrific voice and the Nautolan found himself quickly lost in the music.

As Gusha Chik Youngee came to a close, Kasey moved with each beat to finish on his broaady, toothy smile to the audience, holding the last note. As the piece ended the band moved on to a few of the instrumental pieces. This was Kasey's time to move throughout the crowd and sell the experience. He smiled to a few of the patrons, answered a couple of questions, a young Rodian girl ran up with a little datapad and trac-pen. He happily gave an auto-graph, he wasn't famous but he'd never say no.

Eventually he moved deeper into the crowd and he saw the Nautolan, and behind them he saw the Mandolorian. Now that was a customer he'd like to talk to. The Nautolan seemed to be enthralled with the band and their twist on Duro Droids' Beep Boop Bop certainly a crowd pleaser with those interested in the world of tech. The Duro Fanfar player was centre stage with a custom voice modulator, and while Kasey was their solo vocalist; you couldn't deny the altered Duro sound.

As he approached the Mandolorian, he smiled raising a hand in greating. He kept sufficient distance to respect her space and bowed his head slightly in respect to a paying guest. "Enjoying your time in the Shark Lounge?" As he looked back, a Twi'lek he new all too well slipped into another jizz take on an old spacer song, Ta moocha dobrah stuka, loosley translated into The stolen thing I look like. "Apologies for not speaking Mando'a, with my current understanding... I'd probably call you something awful."

Despite the circumstances Minerva continued to enjoy the music. In her line of work it wasn’t everyday she gets to hear such talent in person. I don’t regret my path but listening to more songs like this would be nice. Further thought on the subject came to immediate halt once she noted the speaker from earlier coming toward her.

What does he want? Maybe here to request that I leave to avoid disturbing the guests.

Suspicious Mandalorian still leaning on the wall silently observed the well dressed gentleman’s approach. The latter stopped at a certain distance and gave a polite bow much to Minerva’s surprise. Subsequently Kasey asked if she was enjoying herself and as a Twi'lek musician sang on the stage. Tilting her head Minerva examined Kasey trying to see if he was being patronizing or was up to something.

When he apologized about not being able to speak Mando'a without causing her to snort. “Smart move, otherwise I would’ve broken your jaw if ya did.” Minerva paused, adding. “Well your band up there is talented I’ll admit. You must be proud.”

Jago simply sat, and tapped his foot to the music. He noticed the singer, start to make his way through the crowd and smiled. The human was clearly not just an expert performer, but also host. The Nautolan kept his eyes on the stage, and enjoyed the show put on by the band as the singer did his rounds.

He caught a glimpse of the singer move passed him and approach someone else. Jago's gaze would linger a bit longer on the band, the Duro performer that was on now was also fantastic and had a very unique sound. They were followed by a Twi'lek performer who also knew his stuff, though Jago preferred the more unique sound of the Duro if he was honest. His attention finally turned toward the original human performer and he could see him talking to someone clad in impressive looking armor. Jago had to wonder if it was possibly a Mandalorian. He'd heard rumors of the legendary warriors in his travels. He smiled again, and wondered if she'd be willing to have a sparring match with him sometime. The Matukai would love to get an idea for Mandalorian fighting styles.

Too curios now he stood and approached the pair. "Hey there, sorry to interrupt, but you got an amazing voice man."

Rubbing his chin, the young man broke into a grin. “Thank goodness for those little blessings, huh? Well, I am not the band’s leader… that’s the horny fellow; I just sing and make sure all you guys and gals are having a good time.” He leaned onto the wall next to this conversational warrior. “So I suppose I should ask, are you having a good time?” He glanced at the bar, raising a pair of fingers. He watched the set continue, awaiting an answer and the two Jet Juices.

Typically the drinks arrived at the wrong time as the Nautolan interrupted the flow and another broad smile crossed his face. “Why thank you friend, it's always good to meet a patron of the arts. Let me get you a drink, another Jet Juice Reggi.” He moved off the wall, placing himself equally distant from the pair, offering his untouched Jet Juice to the Nautolan. It was certainly a clash of cultures, a Mandalorian, a lounge singer and a priest? Someone quicker would crack a joke. “So, what’s with the get up brother? Can’t say I’ve seen anything like it before?

Honest fellow, not claiming to be something he is not. Good I get enough fit lying braggarts as it is in my line of work.

Of course Minerva wasn’t going to say that thought of line. This singer was still an unknown factor to her. She raised an eyebrow as Kasey stood next to her at the wall. Upon being asked if having a good time Minerva paused. What’s his angle here? Then the Mandalorian replied as Kasey ordered drinks for them both.

“The music is wonderful but I’m not exactly a fan of formal settings.”

Before she could demand an explanation, Nautolan interrupted, praising the singer. A fan it seemed. Yet examination of the green being caused her to tense up. He had the bearing of a fighter and yet wore monk-like clothing.

You gotta be kidding me another Jedi! But wait where his lightsaber? Perhaps he is hiding it.

Ever suspicious Minerva silently observed, waiting to see how this second newcomer answered Kasey’s question.

Jago politely took the offered drink when it arrived and sipped it. It had a sweet fruity taste with a distinct bite at the end. He nodded to Kasey to indicate he liked the drink and ponder for a second about his question, before smiling. "Ah well it takes an artist to appreciate another I'd say yeah? I'm an acrobat by trade and I travel from port to port doing street performances. The 'getup' is just my clothes." He chuckled lightly before he continued. "I don't make a ton but it allows me to see the galaxy. I'm a wanderer at heart you see."

He turned then to the Mandalorian. He could clearly see her tense up. The Matukai didn't want to cause any kind of seen in the lounge and simply gave her a polite bow. "Also an honor to meet you Miss. I'm just throwing out a guess, but by your armor I'm guessing you're a Mandalorian?" A geniune look of compassion then came to Jago's face. "I've never met one of your kind but I understand you're people have suffered greatly in the past. I wish to give my condolences to your ancestors for their hardships and your own. My...people also know what it is to be hunted."

Hopefully his kind words would relax her, but he still didn't have much knowledge of the Mandalorians or their ways besides knowing a bit of their past.

His jovial smile broke a bit at the Mandolorian's comments, almost as if offence had been caused. He bit his tongue and took a swig of the Jet Juice. He ensured to allow the burn from the cocktail o snap him out of the frustration of failure that pained him. "W-well, we try to ensure a more friendlier air than most places. At least the music is up to scratch, speaking of which." A smile quickly spread across his face as he moved up onto the stage from the wing's stairwell. His hand outstretched to shake the Twi'lek's. "Thank you very much, a round of applause for Kimi. Wonderfully smooth tones as always."

He looked to the band, nodded to the Devaronian and tossed his mic to the other hand, a signal to move to the faster showy stuff. The band's percussion pcked up and a rising harmony of close chords built up the intensity. "Ladies, Gentlemen and variations thereon, we at the Shark Lounge would like to rattle through some of our favourites for you, we hope you enjoy." He began moving around the stage opening up with a song about a lone Sector Ranger and his ill fated shootout, a romantic telling given a lively and dramatic flair. He point a fingerblaster in time with the 'shots' provided by their drummer and as the rousing tune finished with a final smash he clutched his chest and fell to his knees. Before too much concern raised in the crowd the band began another piece and Kasey began bouncing on his needs to this more softer ballad of a song, "I stepped out of the ramp, a new world at my feet..." with that he sprang up from crouched the pace still a slow rock to and fro. "... all the oppurtunity and yet you were there. A dream that eclipsed the star, put all the world in shadow..." he gestured to a woamn in the crowd, in the direction of the Mandolorian and Makutai. "... all was dark and yet there was the flash of your visor's glare." With that the band began to swell into the ballads main theme.
