Kaedan ran through the forest swiftly. He was excited; of course he was. There was some news that he would be meeting some people and starting a new journey of his life. He had heard tales of the Jedi and what they stood for. He, along with his parents, had also discovered that he was force sensitive. After many conversations, his parents had decided it was probably best that he be trained by people equipped for that. He was already a good shot and pretty skilled with a melee weapon thanks to the slight training he had received from his parents.

His mother being a former bounty hunter had tons of gear at her disposal and many skills to go with it. It was probably why she started training her son to use a blaster at 4 years old. Now two years later, he could hit many targets. With the discovery of him being force sensitive, both parents speculated that the force was also a tool that assisted him with his shooting. His physical training started with his father teaching him, using the military training he once learned to prepare his son. That eventually extended to both parents including melee weapon training.

Kaedan arrived at the house to see his parents speaking with people who were dressed in robes. These Jedi were ready to take him in to begin his Jedi training. That was the reason they were here. What the 6 year old Kaedan didn't know was that would be the last time he physically saw his parents for a while. He rushed off to grab a few things to put in the satchel his mother provided him with. With a holo-communicator packed as well, the boy left Rion and his parents behind and started his journey as a Jedi Initiate.

Kaedan woke up from seeing that memory. It was strange. He hadn't dreamt of the past like that before. Maybe it was because he was finally getting to go back home to Rion. It had been a few months since he started making more advancements in his training. The boy had made the request to go home to see his folks and he was allowed. He was beyond excited and now that he was going. He boarded one of the T-70 X-wing starfighters that was available. "Off to Rion we go."

After the Starfighter arrived in the planetary system, Kaedan looked out of the ship at the planet. A smile appeared on his face as he felt a sense of happiness inside him. He flew the craft to his home and landed. He decided to leave his satchel in the starfighter.

He got out of the starfighter and looked around at his surroundings. The area was filled with beautiful trees due to the fact that Rion was more of a nature planet than an industrial one. That didn't mean that there weren't factories and other structures though. Kaedan took in a deep breath, enjoying the clean air of his home. He observed the area around his house. It was much different from how he remembered it. He stood in awe as he took a moment to admire the place. He couldn't believe that he was there again. He smiled as he took a few steps towards the house. His eyes landed on the forest that was on the eastern side of the house. He remembered all the times he played in it and even used it to have practice exercises. When he got to the door, he buzzed the door.

The door opened and a woman stood before him. She immediately smiled and stepped out, embracing the boy. "Kaedan! I missed you so much." She released the boy and looked him up and down. "Come on inside." She guided the young man inside and allowed him to get comfortable. "It's been way too long."

She turned her attention on Kaedan, looking at the boy he grew into. She felt a bit guilty, having missed 10 years of him growing but it couldn't be helped. She knew what duty meant and just like her husband, Kaedan had a duty to the institution of the order he was inducted into. This also meant that Kaedan would be looked after well and not have to worry about the fear of hurting them with the force without knowing how to control it. The bright side of it was that they got to speak over the holo often so that was an upside.

"Your father should be home soon. I'm sure he will be surprised to see you." She spoke affectionately. "Normally, I wouldn't wait for you to regale me with the latest adventure but I know you probably will have to tell the story again once your father returned so we can wait on that."

Kaedan nodded and smiled. "Thanks mom. How have you been?" The young padawan asked his mom with a small smile on his face.

She smiled and gave him a soft look. "I have been good. Mainly worried about you. I can see that you have grown into a capable young man."

As Kaedan and his mom got reacquainted, the door opened and in stepped a man dressed in military uniform. "Look what we have here." The man smiled largely as he quickly entered the house and placed down his work briefcase. He then turned to Kaedan and opened his arms. He hadn't seen the boy for so many years and to suddenly see his son was quite the surprise and one that he was quite happy with. When Kaedan moved to his father, they embraced and a few tears fell down the man's cheek. "It's so good to see you, son."

"Likewise, Dad." As the embrace ended, Kohvin looked his son up and down, taking in the sight of the young man that had grown up. He remembered the little boy who ran around in the forest and had lots of laughter, the boy who trained with him and Lyra before they sent him off to train with the Jedi. He didn't regret that since Kaedan would have been given a much better chance at learning how to use the force with the Jedi than with them. It was a hard choice and it was even harder to let him go but it was something that the man had to do. Now his son stood before him, 10 years after that day.

Now that he had been reunited with his parents, Kaedan sat and told them his most recent stories including the Jedi prom that he attended with his friend, Alie- Linny, yeah Linny. He still wasn't accustomed to calling her that yet but he was going to get accustomed to it. Of course, his parents began to question him about her and asked if she was his girlfriend. They were really good friends and that was what he told them. She was his best friend having been his first true friend.

Once they were all caught up, Kaedan asked them to tell him about their lives. Surely, he knew about things that they told him while over the holo but he wanted to know more about what was going on in their lives in-depth. Story time turned into hours of chatting.

After they all had dinner, Kaedan took a look at his old room which felt significantly smaller than he remembered it. It was still a decent sized bedroom. He sat on the bed and looked at the neat stack of cartoon books and the action figures he used to play with before he left. He used the force to pull the top book to him. He opened it and realized it was a coloring book that had his favorite characters in them. He flipped through the pages and smiled at the colorings. Many of the pages showed that he wasn't one to color only in the lines. A wave of nostalgia hit him with each page, even the pages he didn't color in.

A while later, Kaedan freshened up and went to bed. While the bed was smaller than what he was accustomed to, he was able to get decent sleep.

The next morning, Kaedan woke up to his mother making breakfast for the family. She was making quite the feast in his opinion. Sausages, French toast, bacon, eggs, and his favorite item Pancakes. As he offered to help she turned down the offer. When the breakfast was done, he enjoyed a lovely breakfast with his parents. "So, when are you heading back?" Kaedan looked at his dad and smiled, "I am going to head back later today but before then I would like to show you both what I can do now."

Kaedan was much stronger and more skilled with a weapon now and seeing just how much was something that both his parents were looking forward to. There was also something his mother wanted him to try out. This was something she taught him in the past but once he left for the order, he had no more training. Time would tell how well he could use this one without any additional training. She was very sure that the Jedi Order wouldn't have taught others how to use this particular weapon and quite frankly she was right.

Kaedan and his parents made their way to their former training area. It was filled with an overgrowth of grass and vines. There was hardly any light piercing the leaves of the trees that surrounded them. This was no problem as Kaedan had a plan to restore the area to its former glory. He grabbed his lightsaber and ignited it. "Time for a clean up." He slashed at the vines, separating them. After taking care of most of the vines that surrounded their area, he then focused on clearing the tall grass which he threw his lightsaber and used the force to guide it around, accomplishing his task rather quickly. When he caught the weapon, he smiled at what he was able to accomplish before he got to clearing out a bit more so and then he was done.

His parents were rather impressed by what he was able to accomplish even though it may seem like a trivial task. Now it was time to see what he could really do. Kaedan demonstrated his skills with the lightsaber and then he went on to show them how well he could use other melee weapons having applied the things he learned from lightsaber combat. After his showcase, Lyra walked up to Kaedan and took her blaster from her hip, handing it to him. "You probably haven't used one of these in 10 years. Let's see if you're still a good shot."

With a blaster in hand, his mother set up the targets. Once in place, Kaedan took aim. He breathed before firing his shots, hitting the targets with a level of precision that had his parents clapping. "Looks like you're an even better shot than when you were 6." He smiled and handed the blaster back to his mother. "Looks like it. Even so, I think I am no match for the real sharpshooter." Lyra chuckled at his response.

The two parents looked at their son in awe, proud of the young man he was becoming. "Now that you're old enough, I would like to give you a gift. As you know, I crashed here 18 years ago and I haven't left. If you want it, I would like you to have my old ship. Sure, it needs fixing up but that's nothing I can't get done for you." Kaedan smiled at his mother and folded his arms. "Thanks mom, I will accept the ship but I think I want to be the one to fix it up."

"Do you even know how to repair ships or any sort of vehicle for that matter?" It was a valid question presented. "Not in the slightest. Even so, I will learn how to that way I will be able to fix it up on the go should anything go wrong. Plus, it will help me get to know the ship."

Kaedan, excited about the ship, rushed over to the shipyard followed by his parents. When they arrived, Lyra pointed out her ship. The hull was damaged and the ship told a story of a battle that took place in space which led to her becoming shipwrecked and stranded.

When she looked at the ship, tons of memories found their way back to her. She had quite a ride with the ship before being shot down by another bounty hunter who was after her mark. She wasn't the target but since they were both going after the same mark, the field got quite competitive and this was the result. She was quite pissed when she crashed landed on the green planet and rightfully so. She just wanted to get the ship repaired and then she would have been on her way, going after the bounty hunter who stole her bounty. Unfortunately, those cards weren't in her hand. She was stranded on that planet.

To make matters worse, the planetary defense force had mobilized to contain her in the event that she was a threat. She was prepared to take them on too. That was until one of the officers bravely stepped into her line of sights and lowered his weapon, wanting to talk. Her deciding to talk with him started this whole thing. That was probably why she never bothered fixing the ship. Why leave when she found love right on that planet with that brave soldier?

She came back to reality smiling. "She's not much and could use some repairs but what do you think?" To her question, he nodded and smirked. "She's the one. However, she does require more repairs than I anticipated. If you can get the hull repaired then I'll handle the rest." Kaedan ran over to the ship. On inspection, he saw the many battle scars it had. Those were its history and something that told tales that were beyond him. When the ship opened and the boarding ramp came down, he entered the ship, noticing how dusty and worn down it was. Things that he could fix, no problem. He walked around the ship and ended his tour at the cockpit.

Due to the state the ship was in, the power was faulty. Reserve power did work well enough to turn on the lights but that was all it could do. "Alright, maybe a new power core too. Once those are replaced, I'll return and work on this baby." He turned off the ship and exited it with his parents. "Sounds like a deal."

After a bit more time, Kaedan bid his parents farewell and took off back to the temple. He was glad that he could have a little homecoming and was sure to do it again.
