There was always a chill in the air inside the Anoth Temple, even with the controlled atmosphere it seemed as though it could not compete with natural environment outside the hidden temple. However, Grand Master Daw seemed to welcome it every time it came, Anoth became her new home and without that chill, it just would feel right. The Corellian stood inside a large training room waiting for the padawans to arrive. She had some free time on her hands and offered to give some tips on dueling, the response, of course, was overwhelming, though after nearly two years of carrying her title as Grand Master, she should have expected the response.

Regardless, the Corellian Grand Master had always enjoyed sharing her skills and knowledge with others in the Order and today was no different as she waited. Dressed less than formally, she was back in her field garb for extra comfort and ease; not to say her formal robes weren't comfortable, but for today, it seemed more appropriate, and she didn't want to risk burning it with another padawans lightsaber even on the low settings.

With the continued Sith threat, knowing how to properly duel against the Sith was still an important priority. One never knew when they would encounter anyone of the Dark Side, the galaxy was corrupted in their darkness, anyone remotely Force sensitive could feel it.

Ryloss entered, keeping close to the wall while he surveyed the room. Only the Grandmaster of the order was present. He felt the weight of the lightsaber as his hip, having chosen to leave his sword back in his quarters, and was comforted by it. Slowly, he walked forwards. He was wearing a tight shirt, as he normally did when dueling, and his thick pants and boots. He didn't produce pheromones and he realized he felt at ease. This close to the Grandmaster, he felt comforted by the fact he was now safer than just about anywhere else in the galaxy.
"An honor, Grandmaster Daw."
Ryloss bowed deeply and crossed one arm over his chest in a formal manner. He didn't bend the knee, though. That, in this day and age, would have felt too mocking for him. He knew she was studied in the path of the Jedi Sentinel, the same one he had once wished to fill. She had been the Sage Master previously, too. He did keep his eyes slightly downcast, as they were red and bloodshot. This was his first day in the Temple, having arrived the previous night. He always had trouble sleeping on new beds. Oddly, the floor and other hard surfaces gave him no trouble, but a bed, designed for comfort, could cause him near physical pain from discomfort. He had an hour of sleep before the sunlight began to shine on his eyelids, irritating him into awakening. He'd had a quick breakfast (alcohol free) and then it had been time to come here. The fact he was adjusting to living without getting completely shattered from the best intoxicant he could find near every third night was playing at him too.

Akiva Raynar entered the training room with a bit of trepidation. The new Jedi Temple on Anoth was still new to him. It was change that Akiva needed to get used to. He had lived in the Jedi Temple on Corsucant since birth for the most part. This was just another example of how things had changed in the past ten years and even though change is part of life, the amount of change that Akiva and the other jedi needed to get used seemed almost too much for anyone. Most of Akiva's friends had died in battle along with his master. Since then, Akiva had trained with holocron cubes but learning from ghosts did not help make connections and that was something that Akiva was lacking in his life which was why he wanted to participate in these classes.

When Akiva entered the room and saw Grand Master Daw, he bowed towards him in respect. "It's an honor to train with you master", Akiva said. He then realized he wasn't the first student in the classroom. He saw another individual in the room. Akiva felt like the new student in school all of the sudden; but meeting new people was one of Akiva's goals. Akiva went towards the other student and bowed slightly at him. "My name is Akiva Raynar. It's nice to meet you."

Finally Cross was with his fellow Jedi and was so happy that his smile was in his face while he walked on the corridors of Anoth, saying “Hi” with a big smile to everyone. His dream was find the Jedi and then lives under the code that saved the Galaxy so many times. They are the peace protectors and Cross should live to guard the peace as well. He was thinking during his walking to meet with Master Daw for a training class “I will train, study and submit myself to learn more and more, till I become a Knight and then I will be capable of help others and be a peacekeeper”

Finally he reached at the class room and met his classmates. It was a little time when he was found by the rescue team that went to Triton and brought him to Anoth. The Galaxy is a dangerous place now, even more to an inexperienced Jedi traveling alone. So when Cross looked to Ebb his eyes were filled with a grateful air, because he knew that was she that ordered the rescue mission. So he curved himself in a respectful way and said:

“An honor to be under your tutelage Master Daw, I will dedicate myself to all your explanation and teachings”

Then he remained patiently waiting the beginning of the class and was in silence till the pronouncement of the Master Daw.

Cotan sat up in his bed, rubbing at his eyes. He hadn't been long on Anoth, and still hadn't fully adjusted to its day-night cycle; he'd been much too busy running around, either practicing alone, in classes, or reading. And he had another class today. Sliding into his robes, he checked the chrono on his datapad, and frowned.

He really needed to get used to the new planet faster.

With a regretful scratch at his chin, the twenty-seven year old jumped up, resolving to at least trim his beard later that day, before stepping out of his room, training saber at his belt.

***

In a few minutes he made his way down to the room where his class was, as he pretty much ran the whole way. Once he got to the door of the room, he stopped, smoothed his robes, and after a moment of berating himself for nearly being late to a class with the Grand Master of the Jedi Order, Cotan stepped into the room, affixing the Master with his best smile.

"Master Daw," he said, bowing to the Grand master once he was up closer to her. "I'm Cotan Sar'andor, nice to meet you today. I hear you've a class that you're starting soon?"

Frey wakes up in his now familiar room. He hesitates a few long breaths then swings both legs over the edge of his bed and walks across the room, ignoring the temporary dizziness from the act. He takes out his black robes and puts them on quickly. Not much is going on today, just a Lightsaber class this morning. Though he hadn't slept in, it was undoubtedly later than most of the others in the temple would be up. This temple is home now. Despite the fact Frey has spent several years after the destruction of Coruscant traveling the galaxy, this is where he intends to stay, at least for awhile. His hands dart out and pick up his Lightsaber and his datapad and leaves the room on at brisk pace.

After the short walk to grab some food and reach the training room Frey pauses shortly outside the door, leaning casually and observing the occupants of the room with a slight smile. Not running for his life has allowed him to return to his more positive side rather than the dark expression he wore for the first few days. Pretty good turn out so far, everyone gathering around the Grand Master. Frey has grown quite a bit of respect for her since they met. If it hadn't been her teaching the class the he probably would have opted for something else. Not that Lightsaber training is a bad thing by any means.

The confident young Jedi walks in, clearing the room with a few long steps. He stops to bow for the Grand Master then relaxes his shoulders and silently observes for a few moments, waiting for the others finish their introductions.

The padawans were timely in their arrival, each one filtering in one after another, the Grand Master returning their greetings as they took their spots in the training room. Wasting no time, Ebberla started, her arms unfolding to take hold of her own lightsaber hilt.

Good morning padawans.” She greeted, “You are all here to better yourselves with the blade. Not only must you understand yourself, but your opponent also. A Jedi respects all life in any form or any path they may take. When you draw your blade, you have reached no other options, it should always be your last resort.” She said pacing slowly, “You fight to protect yourself, you fight to protect others, and you fight to protect your opponent from themselves. You fight never to look for victory or loss, but to persevere.” She explained and then stopped, placing her free fist on her hip.

The galaxy is not a safe place for Jedi, you’ll never know what you will come across and therefore you should be ready for anything. We’ll divide up, Akiva and Frey will join me, Ryloss, Cross, and Cotan will work together. Your goal is to disarm or to force your opponents to reach a point of lost options. Sabers on low settings too, we don’t want to accidentally maim one another today.” She said igniting her magenta blade and adjusting the power setting and waited for the padawans to join her.

Ready? Questions?

Ryloss took out his own lightsaber. It had no buttons on the outside, and only a switch on the inside. You had to use the force to activate it. The advantage of the switch was that he didn't have to worry about holding it down. The downside being that it only had two settings. He looked at the Grandmaster sheepishly.
"My lightsaber only has one setting, Master. I used to have another one, but... I... There was a fight..."
Chopped in half straight out of his hands while standing on a train going a few hundred miles an hour. Yeah, he remembered that. His green lightsaber had been cut in half, the sparks burning his hand. That hadn't scared, though. Ryloss shook his head and shrugged, looking at the other two.
"I'll step back, help with force powers and hand-to-hand if I can."

"Unacceptable padawan." Ebberla said she turned and with the simple beckoning of the Force, a training staff snapped to her palm. "Put your lightsaber away, you'll have a new challenge. You suddenly have lost your lightsaber, you need a weapon to defend yourself." She pointed the staff at Ryloss waiting for him to take it.

"Imbue your weapon with the Force. Just like your lightsaber, it is now an extension of yourself. Focus and concentrate, let the Force flow through you and your weapon, feel for your opponent's strikes and when you meet their weapon, you will also meet them with a weapon just as powerful." she explained, "Timing is everything, if you're off even by a millisecond, you'll find yourself either dead or weaponless again."

Ebberla rejoined her group, "Force powers allowed, only the basics, pulls, pushes, jumps. If you fall down, get back up." she looked to each padawan, "Ready then? Akiva and Frey on my corners, backs facing backs, I should never see your guys' backs." she looked around, "Lets start then."

At Ebberla's words, Cotan's training saber popped into his hands, though it remained unlit as he watched the short conversation between Ryloss and Ebberla; then when the Master started giving commands to the Padawans by her, Cotan fell into a low stance, similar to the Center of Being stance, though with his lightsaber's emitter pointed out towards those he would spar with, rather than off to the side. Pressing down on the activation stud with his thumb, the Padawan smiled as the dark blue blade of the training saber shot out, ready for use.

Now it was only time to pick his target. The Grandmaster, he had no chance of succeeding against alone; he would leave the one who had the strongest defence to go against her. Akiva was a newer Jedi, but larger than he was - and Cotan had no illusions that he was the runt of his team - so Cotan wouldn't go against him.

That left the last one, Frey - about the same size and build as Cotan, though with a more muscular build; the goofball from Naboo smiled. His target was chosen. So Cotan sat, and waited, until Frey would be close enough to him to attack - or until Cotan himself was attacked.

Cross heard well the Grand Master orientations and ignited his lightsaber and turned to a low setting, his partners were Ryloss and Cotan, and they were fighting against the Grand Master. For a second Cross was apprehensive, thinking that would be hard so they should be together.

Ryloss, that appeared to be the most experienced of them, lost his lightsaber and would fight only with a staff “… well, it will be interesting…” he thought.

So, looking to his partners he said “… folks, if we disarm at least one of them, we can earn a little advantage… and let’s try to scatter them from their defensive formation…” and walking slowly he headed to be at the back of the Grand Master, where the other two padawans were located.

Cross was carefully looking Cotan’s movements, the one that Cotan would attack would be the one that he would attack as well. He should do a precise movement and scatter their position, also taking care from the other padawan, which surely will help the one double attacked.

Akiva took out his lightsaber. It felt light and natural in his hand. He had spent time constructing it, letting his instincts guide his actions in the construction. Akiva ignited his lightsaber and changed the setting to lowest. He used this setting many times when sparring with his former master. The color of the blue dimmed a bit with the setting change and Akiva moved towards the Grand Master.

Akiva was going to be sparring with Padawan Frey. Like so many others in the New Order, Akiva didn't know Frey very well. For that matter, Akiva didn't know many of the jedi that were still alive and part of the order. Akiva smiled at Frey and bowed slightly at him. "It's nice to meet you", Akiva said to his fellow Padawan. "I look forward to growing as a Jedi with you here in these lessons."

Frey listens closely to the following conversations, observing small details to get an edge on his opponents and understand his teammates. He exchanges a slight nod to Akiva, his mind already in deep concentration on the other team. Ryloss is the most dangerous, to the point that Frey is surprised he is still a Padawan, but also the most likely to go after the Grand Master. Cross and Cotan should be both on equal levels with himself and Akiva. Frey will be forced to use hybrid lightsaber techniques, as the long slashes of Form I would not do well in this close quarters of combat and the acrobatic levels of Ataru would be nearly impossible if he was to stay near his team mates. How useful Makashi would be right now! It doesn't matter, Frey is very confident in his own abilities, as well as his allies abilities.

The Jedi takes a step back to the side of the Grand Master, dropping into slightly lower, more balanced and defensive stance. He draws his lightsaber, igniting its blue blade. Keeping the blade at an upwardly tilted angel and the hilt firmly between both hands, he waits for one of the others to make a move.

Ryloss raised an eyebrow at her, taking the staff from her with the Force. Wow, he really did doubt everyone, didn't he? The Grandmaster of the Jedi Order and he treated her with suspicion. Of course he did.
Ryloss did as she asked. He closed his eyes, bonded with the weapon... Made it part of him, just light he would a lightsaber or his sword...And then he opened his eyes. He held the staff up. Just like his sword, almost, in the way he held it. He gave it a few practice swings, held like you would a saberstaff. Heavier, more unbalanced than his sword. No grip. But he could live with that. He then did a complex Ataru move, a parry where you used one end to bat the sword away before doing a sort of back-flip, bringing the staff up to kill. He'd never used it successfully against an opponent, but he knew how to practice it. The weapon in his hands would most certainly do for the exercise.
Ryloss stepped back, considering his options. The Grandmaster was the obvious choice, but was she the right one? If he took down one of the other Padawan's quickly, in a few seconds, the other two on his side would have a two to one advantage over the last... But what would the Grandmaster do in the meantime? Hmm...
He opened a telepathic link to the two Padawan's on his side.
"Smash one of them, leave the Grandmaster alone. You, Cotan, we'll both that the one called Frey. Cross, try to draw the Akiva one away. If the Grandmaster shows interest, back off immediately. Once one of the Padawan's is out of action, I'll take the Grandmaster and you two and team up on the last, got it? I'll blast them with everything I have when we charge, get ready."
He took a position that was facing the Grandmaster, giving her the air that he was going to attack her. That was a stupid idea.
"Ready?"

Akiva observed the movements of his opponents. He could see that there was interaction going on even if it wasn't seen with the naked eye. They were communicating with the force to make a plan of attack. Akiva relaxed and used the force to speak with Frey. They are planning something, he said to Frey using the force We must fight them together as one. Together, we stand a better chance against our attackers than alone. The advantage Akiva thought he might have with his opponents is that they might think he was new to the Jedi Order not realizing that he had lived within the Jedi all his life. However, after a bit of time, that advantage will have dwindled but for now, Akiva will try to use that to his advantage and hopefully they will believe that Akiva was merely a new student.

Akiva took a defensive position close to Frey. He held his lightsaber in the Form 1 stance for the excercise to begin.

Good observation, Akiva. Use their attacks to your advantage. She said feeling their positions in the Force, she eyed the padawans before them, one who she gave the staff to already had taken an interest in her.

"Don't be predictable, let the Force guide your thoughts and actions." she said and on cue she gave a gentle tug around Ryloss, pulling him to her breaking the opposing group. The Grand Master stepped forward ready to meet him as she brought her blade down diagonally with two hands, she wanted the padawan to imbue his staff with the Force up his defense or else he would receive a painful burn from her lightsaber. If he chose to defend with the staff, but didn't imbue it, Ebb's attack would be blocked, but if he left their weapons locked, she would eventually burn through it.

Ryloss hissed when he was pulled off balance, his staff rising to meet the Grandmaster's blade in bladelock. He immediately sought to defend the staff with the Force, using his greater physical strength to keep her at bay. That advantage wouldn't last forever, though. He had to end this little skirmish fast. Using the staff and the force she was putting behind her blade, he twisted his body and the staff so he could crack it off her hip without giving her a moment to strike him. If it landed, she would either stumble forwards, in which case he'd immediately try to break her from the rest of her group by stabbing at her back, or she would simply take the blow and turn to face him again. In that case he'd push both of her Padawans away with the force, as he would be between the three. From there, he would counter her as he could. Either way he hoped the two on his side could adapt and improvise something from the situation.
If she took a completely unforeseen route, he'd just have to adapt and improvise himself.

As Ryloss and Cross both spoke to him, Cotan did little more but nod at their suggestions - suggestions, not commands. Regardless, both of them fit well with what he'd already decided to do, so there was no issue with it. After a moment, he closed his eyes, just breathing, reaching out with the Force. He could sense those all about him, both with the Force and with his natural senses; and the moment he felt Master Daw reaching out, he rolled away.

Shifting his balance, Cotan altered the roll to direct himself towards Frey, opening his eyes to watch his target. Coming close enough, Cotan stopped his roll, coming upright on his knees and lashing out with his blade - towards Frey's knees, incidentally - in one smooth motion, and ready to roll back from a counterattack.

Frey listens to his allies carefully, silently agreeing with them. The match kicks off with The Grand Master making the first move Frey shows uncharacteristic patience and waits for Cotan or Cross to make a move, he is unsure of how Akiva would handle him going fully aggressive and taking them both on. As Cotan made his move and rolled towards him, Frey's body exploded into action, muscle memory and experience working simultaneously.

Springing backwards just enough to avoid the blade. Frey immediately steps forward again, striking at Cotan with an upwards slash with the intention of forcing him to either fully engage or fully retreat; either would be favorable for him. Cross will inevitably attack as well, and Frey will use the upward momentum from his blow to parry Cross's blade.

Cotan did his attack, which was what Cross was waiting for. His objective was help his partner achieve success in his slash at Frey’s knees, so he remembered that the Grandmaster allowed basic force powers. So he realized that maybe a force push would help to unbalance Frey’s defense.

Therefore he focused his eyes at Frey’s right arm and with a fast movement of his left hand, Cross aimed a force push on that point, hoping that could help Cotan hit his goal as well.

After moving his hand, trying the force push, Cross stood in a Makashi stance. Waiting for the possible action that Akiva could try, perhaps attacking Cotan or maybe him, but that was unlikely, as Cotan was closer to them.
