House Skirata
Leaders
of Concord Dawn
The history of the Skirata clan is long and for the most part not very eventful or note worthy. It is believed they existed even before the unification of the mandalorian people. They joined as one of the smaller clans that were unaligned to any major house. As the unity progressed and the colonization of new worlds began the Skirata clan was one of the first clans to settle on Concord Dawn. The new planet did not receive any special attention but stayed loyal to the unified ways of the mandalorian people. But all was not shared as the Mandalorian houses fought with one another beginning the first of many wars that would ravage Concord Dawn.
If one knows the history of Concord Dawn they know the history of the Skirata clan. House Genet took over the planet without regard to the other Mandalorian houses. This caused infighting and friction to set alight more bridges between clans and houses alike. What were once comrades turned into enemies and the small clan of Skirata kept to themselves. Along with a large force of House Fett the Skirata clan took out Genet, realizing they would do more harm than good. This caused losses on both sides heavily but ended in victory for Skirata and Fett.
Since House Fett already had Ordo as a colonised world they governed the other houses decided to put in place a new house. Thus Skirata was elevated from simple clan to a house by Fett, Kryze and Vizsla. It was primarily the latter two since House Fett still had significant loses due to the Genet Insurgency. There were conflicts that came again and tensions between Mandalore and Concord Dawn like two siblings that bickered before calming down and going back to peaceful relations. Some still held grudges to the planet no matter who governed it. Differences and change were always looked upon with skepticism and while many wars could last a single year they could end in over a night.
Relations of with house genet are tense at best with the Skirata clan. The destruction and death that were a result of the House's Conquest of Concord Dawn killed numerous mandalorians, most of which were Fett and Skirata. Some of the Genet returned in vengance, slaughtering almost all the Fetts on the planet save for a few estranged clan members. Those on Ordo or elsewhere in the galaxy were spared from the combat that once again besieged the planet of a hundred wars. Once again attackers were repelled and the destruction was recovered from but it still left scars that were well remembered.
The Skirata house supported the Border Alliance and anti-piracy and other black market operations. Many people prospered and thrived despite the numerous battles and harsh environment of the planet. Inovation and goods started coming from the people of Concord Dawn and while it didn't boom in terms of population the quality of life did and acknowledgement of the effort Skirata and the people of the planet the house governed spread. More clans under house Skirata started poping up as a result as well though trade and interaction for the most part stayed within mandalorian space.

The composition of House Skirata is fairly diverse and expansive for a relatively young House. While Skirata has existed as a Clan for a long time it is still the youngest of the Mandalorian Houses. Clan Skirata, the leading Clan of the house of the same name is also the most well known for their influence through various endeavors and business. Dawnward Design Industries for instance has become i titan of industry for the House and been a great provider of commerce for Concord Dawn and the mandalorian people.
Clan Deshra is a moderate sized clan primarily on Concord Dawn but it is not uncommon to see them hired out as engineers as mechanics in the greater galaxy. often called 'Merc Mechs' due to easily being a mercenary and mechanic simultaneously. They are less combat inclined but still hold true to the mandalorian stereotype of being violence capable.
Clan Detta are rarely seen around Mandalorian space. They stay prefer the nomadic way of life and making new discoveries. Explorers and traders they are seldom contacted since they are not large in number but sure as the sun sets and the three moons rise, will have some stories to tell of their travels.
Clan Sornell is composed of numerous Devaronians and are quite large in over all number. While Devaronians comprise of a large number of Concord Dawn's populace, second only to human, Clan Sornell has a noticeably higher devaronian populace than any other clan on Concord Dawn. They are often also known for some of the toughest warriors, stout drinkers, and hardest of workers even amongst the standards of Concord Dawn.
Clan Vromm is a straight forward clan, only recently becoming known in the last century or so. Even other mandalorians are unlikely to have heard of them since they are usually qute secluded in the northern regions of Concord Dawn. Lumber and hunting are the historical subjects of their career paths. Now they have earned somewhat of a name at occasionally turning their expert marksman and terrestrial navigation skills to hiring out and joining other mandalorians in their endeavors if only to get some more experience off of their homeworld.
Neutral colors are often paired with britter vibrant ones on the armor of members of House Skirata.
The Skirata house is known for numerous things. Some look at them with disdain for the stances in the past or their activity (or lack there of) in politics or other events. While they do have the position as leaders of Concord Dawn they remain humble and understanding of the requirement for continued struggle. The orange and other bright colors of the house embody this representing shereshoy, the mandalorian concept of having a lust for life and taking every day on with zeal.
For the most part the Skirata clan are well mannered and respectful. Rarely are they the ones to swing the first punch but are as hard headed as any other mandalorian house and have displayed their tenacity since the rise of the mandalorians as a people. From farmers to engineers, and warriors to poets they can be considered by the greater galaxy as somewhat more 'progressive' than other mandalorian houses though can be equally said as being the oposite direction in some cases. Technology wise they prefer reliability and quality over quantity. As a result much of their production is worth more but sells less due to the higher pricing. The craftsmanship of their products take longer to make and as such fewer are made where lesser quality would have in greater numbers.
Often symbolism of the Concord Dawn as their home is well displayed in their work an way of life. But this fact does not deter their adherence to the mandalorian culture. They still consider themselves mandalorians with absolution and certainty despite what others may say. It is not uncommon for mandalorians from the home world of mandalore to balk at their comrades from their sister world which the House of Skirata just simply shrugs and continues their daily lives..

Intent: I have role played character of House skirata on the site for a long time. now that the mandalorian faction is a main faction and Skirata is an official house I figured I'd make a write up about the house as I will continue to roleplay as a member of the skirata in some way shape or form and also want to encourage others to participate as well.
