How do you Sith?

OK! I'm an uber goober and get way too excited about characters that I am really not supposed to be making. I've been working on this Sith characters sheet for the last three days and caught myself on an awful awful snag.

This character I am making is Dathomirian. The list says that both the planet and it's people are usable but I have some concerns. After what Grievous did to them are they still the culture they once were in THIS time line?


If so, would it be alright to create a tiny little nobody tribe for the sake of my characters history?


My character is 19 and while that is still pretty young I was trying to make a character that already had been taken into the Sith Order years prior to the current RP time. At the same time I don't know a lot about the Imperium and how they deal with Acolytes.


She's 19. Her being given to them as a sign of good faith to train and utilize as they see fit seems to make sense but I have to explain all the years until the current one, and I know NOTHING. Zip. Nilch. ZERO.

At the same time I wouldn't mind saying that she is not yet a acolyte with the Sith Order and RP her being brought into it (my secret preference). So my question would be, is anyone of substantial Rank within the Sith Order willing to help me RP that with this new character? I am willing to disclose full information prior to posting the actual sheet if you feel uncomfortable making a commitment to a character you know nothing about.


If someone is then all my previous questions are kinda moot (except the ones about Dathomirian society and what not).

If you're not dead set on her already being in the Sith upon creation I would be up for RP'ing her initiation with my character Vecna. He may not hold a considerable title at the moment but he will be a Crusader soon, not to mention what he lacks in personal prestige he makes up for with friend(s) in high places.

I like him very much and as soon as more of my questions get answered ( from others or my own research) I'll be happy to do that intro thread with you! I would like a bit of closure on this one, my Jedi induction into the New Order kinda just tapered off to an assumption that she was accepted without meeting any other masters of council members (my own fault!).

I don't really know what's up with Dathomir, honestly. I could've sworn there were some PCs floating about since we do have a Nightsisters faction? But I don't really know enough about the Sith voodoo side of things. :(

I'd say you'd be alright having her be from some small irrelevant tribe, it wouldn't be the first time someone did something of the sort and I've never seen any backlash against it.

You could also explain away Greivous' effects on the culture because you know, it's been over 1000 years since then.

I don't plan on getting into the VooDoo aspect of the culture too much. This character is not going to have any abilities in regards to it I was just concerned by idea that tribes of Dathomirian's thriving and what not on Dathomir wouldn't fly because of something the Imperium did that I didn't happen to read up on.

This is true, their culture has probably regrown since then due to the time gap between that event and the current timeline. I am more concerned with the Dathomirian current events. I couldn't find much on them on the Wookie page and on here there is A LOT of info to sift through.

But you're right, making one; inconsequential tribe isn't going to get a boot shoved up my ass. If it does I must have done something outstandingly wrong @3@ I'll go ahead with the history I have, alter a few things and maybe post this sucker tonight or tomorrow.

There really isn't any ceremony involved anymore, from what I understand. Though you could probably find someone to be all ~dramatic~ about it, which could be cool.

Well that's good to know at least, thank you! I guess I am just concerned that if there is no "Ok, you're in. Good job maggot" from someone high up in the foodchain it's just gonna be a half-assed thing. Like someone sets off a party popper in her face then says " Ok bye" and the character is left just---" Guess I'm part of the Order now."

How do these new initiates know where to go and what to do? Surely the Sith Order is too well organized for them to just let these newbies wander into something useful to do. No ceremony is fine but---I DUNNO.

I feel like I am whining about this now XD

Just about any of the Sith temples are a good place to go. Coruscant, Korriban and Ziost would be the places you'd go to learn and whatnot. But there's nothing that really says you must go to a Sith temple after joining the Order. You could theoretically go anywhere in the Imperium - which opens plenty of options for planets for you to wind up on.

A temple seems like a good idea and a reasonable second step. Maybe it should simply be the first step since there are no ceremonies and it doesn't appear that a high ranking Sith has to be involved in the induction process.

I warn you though, I will get uber intricate and formal. For example, the ceremony and customs would differ from class to class, were you planning on choosing a specialization for your char just yet (ie: Sorcerer, Assassin, Warrior)?

I haven't had much time to consider what she would be in the future. Due to the Dathomirian culture it'd most likely be an Assassin; simply because of how they train and what not. But I am not sure that's for this character.

I am TOTALLY ok with intricate. The Wedding ceremonies of the Japanese are beautiful and intricacy and care in a ceremony is greatly appreciated. I do have a few things I want to happen before any real rites of ceremonies occur.

Namely I want a chance to RP with Relent~
