How to get started?

I joined a while ago but IRL stuff got in the way. Now that I am back, I am still not sure of how to begin. Any advice would be helpful.
(I quite intrigued about the amount of detail in some posts that i have skimmed over trying to understand how to do tings. They really give me an image.)

[1] This is the general welcome to the site post. It's pretty big and will give you tons of info on anything and everything related to the site. It's a fantastic source of info for sure.
[2] This one gives you some info on the current timeline and how it differs from the latest Star Wars movie.
