Centrares is dubbed as the 'last civilized stop before the outer rim' as it is at the edge of the Mid Rim. It's a strategic planet along the Perlemian Trade Route and well as another of the systems lost during the re-unification. In this system pirates are harrying civillian traffic whenver they try to pass. The reports indicate that many of vessels have been preyed on and looted by them and not a lot of people can get away easily.

That's where the Empire comes in, get rid of the pirate filth, the Sith Empire swoops in and be heroes, then the Empire will set up shop. Sounds like a good plan to the Anaxes pilot.

Zvonimir's Dagger-class Heavy Fighter would emerge from hyperspace, along with six Crux-class Starfighters, members of Phalanx Flight has that has been given to Zvonimir to command as he had earned it. Zvonimir's starfighter also has a shield booster he installed, another gift for dutiful service as well. He's moving up. As he arrived, he would check through the viewports he can see the world Centrares in the background, he doesn't see any pirates yet however. But they are bound to be somewhere in this system. Zvonimir is at the head of a V-formation with his flight.

The young pilot is also to be working with Irolia again who should be arriving shortly. He seems to get mixed up in a lot of missions with the blue-skinned Sith. Hopefully that streak will end soon as he isn't fond working with aliens or Sith. Hopefully

Irolia would yet again, be doing a mission with the Imperial Agent Zvonimir, she guessed that was alright. The man hasn't failed on any mission they've been on, so he's been a reliable asset to the Sith Empire. Coming out of the hyperspace in her ship The Black Hornet, a light freighter. She was piloting, having one from her rewarded squad of Imperials at the shield, right behind her. In the rear, was another manning the turret. The rest from the squad was seated in the cargo area, waiting for the action to begin.

"This is The Black Hornet speaking, Zvonimir, do you have any visual on the pirates yet?" Asked Irolia as she flew just beside the v-formation. Space suddenly got lite up by laser fire, forcing Irolia to do tactical manoeuvring to dodge the incoming pirate fighters. It seemed they were pretty even on both sides. The rear turret kept firing at the enemy fighters, as they got persuaded by two of the seven fighters. Some of the shots from the enemy ships hit the rear side of The Black Hornet, but thankfully the ship's shield held.

The Anaxes pilot then would respond to the Sith lady "Negative, no visu--" and that's when from the sides laser cannon fire started streaking through from one of the sides. It didn't take long for the welcoming party to come. With his natural pilot's instinct he pulled the throttle forward accelerating him out of the way of laser cannon shots. "Phalanx unit evasive maneuvers!" he would order to his flight over the comms. With his fighter's upgraded shields and the clumsy blaster fire, his medium military-grade deflector shields would get off without much damage, the rest are avoided. The rest of his flight didn't get off as lightly as he did, as some sustained a few fighters sustained a few token hits as they scrambled, but not enough to disable or destroy.

After trusting forward a good distance forward he would bank towards his left where the laser cannon fire was coming from. As he turns around he'd see what appears to be a Overhead freighter - that looks like it has too many guns attached to it - lagging behind a group of 6 MI Nova starfighters that are rushing fast towards the Sith group. No doubt this pirate group would work well raiding civilly traffic but they will fall when they try picking someone their own size.

Banking just a little bit before as he sees a pirate fighter incoming, he'd fire a burst of laser cannon shots at it with a lead. That one pirate fighter would promptly be shot down before it does much else. With that, still 5 more to go and that freighter, the pirate fighters would be engaging the Sith fighters while the pirate freighter seems to be on course to go after the Black Hornet.

"Blasted pirates" mumbled Irolia annoyed as she evaded left and right, while her rear gunner blasted away at the bulky looking freighter. Being the size of the freighter surprisingly made a more agile than one would expect, though the Black Talon was still faster. "Looks like the pirate fighters are focusing on Agent Zvonimir and his men" commented her co-pilot as he looked at the scanner of the ship. "Well good for them," said the blue Sith jokingly and made a hard turn right, in an attempt to flank their bulky chaser. As Irolia banked hard right, she did a 180-degree turn without flying forward at the pirate freighter. Instead, she actually started to strafe to the right, flying around the freighter, which seemed to take them a bit by surprise. Irolia smirked and opened fire from her light dual laser turret.

Although the ship had military-grade deflector screen generator, Irolia still managed after multiple bursts of fire, to get a couple of shots through. Funnily enough, her constant strafing left and right, kept the Black Talon constant behind the pirate freighter, making it a sitting duck. It didn't take long before Irolia finally penetrated the pirate freighter's shield and ripping the ship to bits. If it hadn't been for Irolia's quick thinking, would they have been blown to pieces, as a concussion missile was fired from one of the pirate fighters. She had made a hard pull of her joystick, making her ship dodge just enough to evade the missile.

She chased the fighter directly into the firefight between Zvonimir, his fighters and the pirate fighters. While still in a chase after the pirate that tried to blow her ship up, she was able to take one pirate fighter out, bringing their count down to 4. This damn pirates she was chasing was really annoying her as he kept evading and dodging every shot she fired at him. "Just. Hold. Farking. Still!" Commanded Irolia really annoyed, as if she was barking orders to soldiers. In the end, it was her rear gunner who got the pleasure of taking out the pirate, as the pirate managed to get behind her, but didn't take her ship's rear gun into account and got blasted, bringing the count down to 3.

It had been a very long time since Saorise had taken the controls of a personal fighter, long enough that when the call had gone out for the defense of Centares during the campaign, she allowed herself this little excursion out.

Good thing she, and her ally, arrived when they did.

Barreling into the skies above Centares, she found Imperial pilots already facing off against starships, dodging bolts and missiles as they tumbled through the sky, dancing back and forth between danger. Her own ship had been pieced together a long time ago, but it was by no means anything to scoff at. While she typically traveled on her Corvette nowadays, it felt good to remember how the Diomedes flew, and soon, fought,

"We're coming up behind you, care for some help?" she called playfully into the comm. The other pilots needed to lose some heat, which was why they had come now.

Burning her engines, she burst into the combat, opening fire from her ships laser cannons toward the pirate fighters, forcing them to bank to the side and dodge, clearing space and splitting them up so they couldn't support eachother against any follow up attacks,

"You're up!" Saorise added over the comms as she rolled the ship round, ready to line up her next attack, though hopefully her ally would be able to do some damage themselves.

An Acranian Cutter broke out of hyperspace, barrelling past the Diomedes and lighting the fighter the Sith Lord was aiming at up with a hail of medium and light laser cannon fire, stealing her kill. The small fighter crumbled under the firepower and exploded. The Cutter flew right through the explosion and banked hard right. It's ventral and dorsal turrets both spun around and targeted the remaining 2 fighters and terrorising them with the crimson bolts. With no shields they wouldn't stand a chance and had no choice but to break off. One conveniently banked right up into the sith lord's sights.

"Diomedes, this is Logos. Heard your hail and here to support." a voice chimed in over the comms, a voice belonging to none other than the Arch Priest himself. This was the first time he was piloting his ship himself in a combat situation, but with how he has been progressing and refining his skills behind the controls he felt a lot more comfortable than he used to be.

Naturally the last fighter wouldn't prove a match as Mid tilted left to allow both his turrets to spray the last fighter down. Their victory, however, would be short-lived. In the back of his mind Mid was wondering how the fighters could strike so quickly without a hyperdrive...then it came.

From hyperspace emerged a second Overhead Pirate freighter, flanking a hulking beast of a ship. Thankfully they emerged a bit too early out of hyperspace, allowing the two sith to evade the storm of cannon fire heading for them.

"That makes a lot more sense." Mid grumbled as he hung onto the controls, evading the cannon fire around him.

"Good. More friends" Saorise replied sarcastically over the comms as she watched the damn Galleon beam into real space nearby.

It made sense, they had to have something with a little more firepower stored away to do the kind of operations they did. And if their turf was being attacked, overwhelming force could be used. Yes, she understood what was occurring.

Didn't mean she had to like it.

Pulling the tail of the Diomedes around Saorise looped back and tried to fly around from the fireworks that lit up from the exploding fighters the Logos had left behind her. A great start, but they'd both be working harder from here on out.

She came back round, pulling to the Galleon's right flank as she did, cannons barking out fire at her as she fired back, sending blasts from her dual front mounted laser cannons as she turned her belly up slightly, allowing her under mounted groundsweeper to send something extra out as well. A decent amount of fire concentrated, but it was no easy target. Still, the shields were taking a pounding, and being the first enemy the beast had encountered it focused its fire upon her, meaning Mid would have a clear shot again, be able to focus a little on the targets weak points.

And if they could bring the shield down... well, she flicked the switch on her control stick and primed the pinnace's missiles to fire off. The bigger the thing was,

The harder it would fall.

The Diomedes pulled up and headed straight for the Gorath Galleon, much to Mid's confusion. The Logos pulled left in a wide arc to bring its front guns to bear on the Gorath. His turrets went to work on pommelling the sluggish Overhead Pirate as he made a pass, but his shields took a beating as a couple hits landed against the side of the ship.

His plan was to pull the attention away from the Darth, hoping his slower and bigger ship would do the job. If not, the cannons probably would. The comms opened and he tried to reach Inheris, but all he got in his ears were static. The pirates were jamming them. Luckily Mid's jammers were also on full blast, creating just as big a mess for the pirates to coordinate. Only the Sith had an advantage.

The Force.

Mid focused the force, reaching out to Inheris to try and coordinate, even if only on a basic level. "Inheris. Break off. It will tear you apart." he spoke in his mind, hoping that she would let him into her head to let her hear. Once she pulled out of the way the Logos' nose lit up as an ion cannon round tore through the void and collided with the Galleon, taking down its shield and messing up some of the systems. Mid flew over head to make another pass, but received a couple rounds to the underbelly. At least his shields were able to take the punishment, if only just.

The light laser cannon turrets harassed the enormous freighter, but with all that room it could take the damage and still keep flying. But his tactic worked. The focus was now on him, leaving Inheris to deal with the Overhead freighter which was a lot more within her Pinnace's weight class.

She hated to admit it, but the Sith was right. She was diving in head first into waters far deeper than she could deal with. The campaign had taken her far, the push forward so strong, perhaps it had filled her with a false confidence, an ego.

And as such it had no place, even if she wanted to live it a little longer.

Pulling the ship around and diving low, she escaped the firing arcs of the Galleons cannons and banked for the freighter,

“Don’t get yourself killed in my stead then” she said through gritted teeth in return as she followed the ship, sending her forward lasers barking at the thing as it twisted through empty space to avoid her shots and reposition.

A few hits, some even tearing into the things hull sent it screaming across the sky to escape, but she wouldn’t let it rest for long, not while she had the upper hand.

She had been so much more familiar with command. Her own Corvette would have been ideal to bring in, to stand on its bridge and blow these pirate fools straight to smithereens. But such opposition had not been on the cards, so her greatest asset was stationed halfway across the sector, readying itself for a different assault. They could only rely on themselves today.

Which meant she had to up her game.

Mid scoffed at her comment. None of them were going to die today. The gunship came around, weaving this way and that to avoid getting hit as it moved to get a shot in. The ship might be big but it was agile for its size. Mid was willing to bet that it could keep up with most light freighters and even some fighters with its manoeuvrability.

The ion cannon was priming up along with the medium cannons and turrets. Mid's plan was to disable the ship entirely and blow it to pieces, but the sight of Inheris having to fly around like a drunk purrgil caught his attention. Despite being easier to take on that Overhead was proving to be a challenge. Deciding to take a chance he let the ion cannon fire just as the Logos' nose lined up, hoping to disrup the ship to give Inheris a window to end it. A second later he lined up with the Galleon, staring right at its bridge. But the turrets were lining up, and his shields wouldn't survive another hit from that beast.

Mid gave the order and the Logos lit up as all guns banged one round after the other. It tore through the Galleon's bridge and blew it apart. One explosion after the other erupted and soon the ship blew apart. Mid had to weave and jerk around to dodge the debris. "Inheris, watch the debris!" he called out in his mind. He quickly got out of the field and sped off to a safe distance to see if the Sith Lord needed any assistance wrapping this mess up.

As Mid's ion blast hit the Overhead the things electrics suddenly ceased, if one looked closely you could see the lights inside shut off in an instant. Whether it had a backup generator, it wouldn't matter now, because that was just the opening she needed.

Her underslung cannon roared to life, sending bolts into the unshielded belly of the beast, ripping through its metal walls and opening it to the vacuum of space as it punctured the ship clean through. No explosion, no bombast, just a clean cut that left the thing dead in the water. No, any sort of excitement was going to come from what she followed it with.

Still, she had to contend with the debris as she lined herself up with the Galleon. The ships bridge flew past her in flames as Saorise weaved through the shards of steel and glass that scattered by,

"Much appreciated, coming in to cleanup" she called back across the comms. Her shields had taken a beating much like his, but his actions had left the Galleon without command, barely able to fire back. Another perfect opening, and she knew just how to exploit it.

Having armed her missiles already, Saorise let them loose upon the beast, each colliding with Galleons now vulnerable mass. Explosions wracked its mass, tearing open bulkheads and igniting fuel, sending a rippling blast that carried through the ship. It was damn near down for the count, the one-two hit between them had done the job well.

Still, Mid was welcome to finish it off. She'd used up her missile capacity now, his ship had the weaponry to end it once and for all.

The debris flew through the void and smashed into the Overhead Pirate, leaving a massive hole in its side and settling any doubts that it would be coming back to life. No crew could survive that.

The Galleon was already dead, its crew eviscerated...but the Sith Lord's concussion missile cleared it out. Several small explosions erupted and she Galleon drifted loosely through space. All its crew destroyed and its systems demolished. One pirate, claimed by the void, drifted towards the Logos and bounced off its hull. Mid simply eyed him and the ship, figuring they could leave something to the vultures. The sound of static clearing made him sigh with relief, clear confirmation that the fight was over and all their enemies were destroyed. "Well, Lady Inheris, I'd say this qualifies as a job well done." he spoke over the reopened commlink channel.

He turned the Logos around and got his crew working on a hyperspace jump back to Korriban. "Let's pack up and go home. First round's on me if you feel like joining for a drink to celebrate." he offered casually. The echoing beep of the hyperdrive confirmed that their route was set. With that he hit the lever and the warship shot off into hyperspace, back to Korriban.

The debris floated in the space above Centares, the light catching its sides and illuminating it so its shapes seemed grander, softer, than they had done in life, hanging in the starlight.

It was a sight that filled her with a quiet sense of satisfaction, after the hectic mess of the battle, the clean, quietude of the planets orbit was a pleasant place to bask in,

"And to you as well, Crusader Samekh" she echoed back over the comms, watching the Logos shoot off into hyperspace to wherever its preferred point of port was. She herself didn't have one any longer. With Kuat a part of the United Protectorate she'd had to make her assets their mobile, the Dalaigh Mansion sitting in solitude on the hillside where it once had lain. Perhaps she'd be able to go back one day, when the Empire had reasserted itself. She typically didn't get nostalgic, not for 'home', a place she'd spent so many years fervently denying.

But here, with only her mind, and the dance of stars to entertain her, Inheris' mind wandered.

She had time to now.
