A conflict that has been brewing for years has reached an apex: Xero-Vain, a major corporate entity in military research and general R&D, has launched a military campaign against the Hutt crimelords ensconced on the world of Tatooine, the source of raids made by pirates and slavers on freighters and convoy frigates belonging to the corporation. Military bases belonging to the corporation, secretly built as a pre-emptive preparation for this conflict, are being activated across Tatooine's surface.

Paramilitary forces, shipped in from off-world, are garrisoning these locations and launching raids against the Hutts' local enforcers and employees.

Tribes of Tusken Raiders are being eliminated by Xero-Vain forces amongst this conflict, bringing fresh recruits and guides from the planet to their side and weakening the Hutts' fear-induced control over specific markets in the major settlements. Smugglers, formerly having to pay a fee to the Hutts, are finding themselves, receiving full profits. Honest merchants are no longer having to deal with thugs haranguing them and making threats. Corrupt officials are being publicly beaten by inspired mobs who've been oppressed by them.

Still, the Hutts' influence runs deep and their hold is anything if not weak. Both the corporation and the Hutts have need of fresh bodies: bounty hunters, assassins, mercenaries, anyone who can hold a gun and shoot it without singing their eyebrows off. The rewards for participating in this conflict are substantial, with large amounts of credits to be made and access to otherwise expensive technologies just within reach.

Dramatis Personae said:
Captain (Field General) Yevine Kelros (Human) - Yevine Kelros has served Xero-Vain for ten years, before it was ever formed as such. A loyal soldier, if somewhat too aggressive, he's currently heading the Tatooine offensive against the Hutts and Tusken Raiders that plague most of the settlers on the planet. His tactics are generally straightforward, though his second-in-command heads covert missions.

Jorga Be'Lioen (Hutt) - Jorga 'the Hutt', for all intents. The one funding the Huttese defense and the spokes-slug of the Hutt Cartel, Jorga reigns over Tatooine with a strict, iron fist... or did, until Xero-Vain decided to change things.

Aeslyth Narien (Human) - Aeslyth Narien.. an infamous name across Hutt space. She's a hard-cut, ruthless woman who's served the Hutt Cartel for most of her mercenary career. As brutal as she is efficient, she's prone to removing any obstacle through sheer force of will, ignoring any and all forms of subtelty.

Captain Iren Nylos (Human) - The second-in-command of the Xero-Vain forces, Iren is a seasoned soldier with a very checkered past. Once part of the Alliance, he was discharged from the GADF after assaulting an officer who admitted to raping his wife. While the officer was never arrested or charged for that, Iren was still discharged and swore he'd get his revenge for the rape and murder of his spouse. Going into the business as a mercenary, he finally found work with Xero-Vain, where he signed a permanent contract and slowly rose to the rank of Captain. Respected by his troops and intelligent, he's considered an effective asset. An extremely righteous person, he punishes criminals who harm others through violence and blackmail without a second thought. His personal goal - revenge - is also never far from his mind.

Six (Human) - A young man with a multitude of scarring across his body and mind, his role with Xero-Vain remains an enigma. Aside from being a Force-User, not much is known about him, nor his connections to the Jedi and Sith, if such connections exist. His presence on Tatooine at this time brings about more questions than answers.

A green-light from Bac for the Tatooine conflict is present. This is the second interest thread, providing a proper idea of what this is about - a call for all indies and a chance for some major development, character-wise and possibly faction-wise. Whichever side wins, Hutt or Xero-Vain, will likely get a hefty amount of credits and technology for their troubles.

Also, it's hopefully a fun story arc to be involved in! Oh, and you get to kill HUTTS!

Who DOESN'T want to kill those slimy slugs?

I'm game to thrown Vin into this, that offer of a bunch of credits, and rare technology will have him running to sign up for work right away.

Obligatory bump.

Is this going to be another of my 'good' plot ideas that never launches due to lack-of-interest? I need more than two people to make this worthwhile... :(
