Central HUB, Nal Hutta, the Y'toub system...

U5OTKRJYFN.jpg

So, this are the famous HUB Towers, eh? Jax took a small drag off his cigarette as he stared up through his sunglasses at the massive structures. The towers were in fact one structure, conjoined at the bottom. Something that Jax never knew until he came here. He was just off the shuttle from Nar Shaddaa, and was kind of pissed about the lack of decency on the transport. Several of the serving droids had shut down in the middle of his ordering drinks. Of course, it was a civilian transport, of course it was going to be a mobile hellhole. The smuggler took one last drag off the cig and then put it out on the wall he was leaning on. One step after another, thumb up in the air, signaling for a taxi of some sort, he made his way toward the HUB. He was supposed to be there an hour ago but being fashionably late was always something that Jax was good at, naturally. He was an arrogant little shit, that much was true about Jaraxsus Lannisar. Though, to the public and his clients his real name was kept behind the façade of 'Jax Lannis'. Only select people knew his name. Select people that he actually cared for.

Halfway down the 'road', Jax finally tailed down a taxi. The driver was a Gran that looked like he would kill for a different job, a cigar in his mouth, an arm hanging off the side of the speeder, and an arrogant wave at Jax to get in. Didn't even look at the smuggler when he made the gesture. Jax climbed in, gave him an arrogant grin, then leaned back against the leather seating. He let out a sigh of relief, then said "Take me to the HUB, front entrance. Oh, and take me across the lake, the scenic route." The three eyed being grunted and immediately sped off, turning on the credit-counter. No doubt he wasn't pissed about taking the scenic route because that means more money for him. Jax chuckled at that. Letting his right arm hang off the side of the speeder as the Gran was doing, he squinted his eyes behind his sunglasses, staring at the HUB intently. "So you like your job?" He had to raise his voice because of the rising wind.

A snort came from the drivers' seat. Nothing more than that noise. Jax made a similar sound, but with his mouth, as if it was a fart. He chuckled when the driver glared back at him before turning back up front. They were halfway across the lake now. Jax glanced down at the churning water below, glistening in the morning sunlight. He was lost in thought as he stared at the water until he arrived at the HUB. He shook his head, thinking he might have dozed off. Trying to remember who he was supposed to be meeting here, he pulled a cigarette out of his pocket shirt pocket and stepped out of the cab, tossing a handful of credits at the driver(around 75). Chadwick, Chadwick, Chadwick, he remembered, repeating the name on his lips. He went to stand near the doors of the main building to finish his cig before entering the complex, the sliding entrance opening, seemingly, faster than light. Jax swiveled his head around, took his sunglasses off and began to scan the area, trying to remember the face of this Chadwick he had described to him by the Hutt contact. He also began looking around nonchalantly for any Geonosians in the area; they could be part of the delegate's entourage.

Where are you, you little winged freaks?

The old civilian transport was full of sentients who Krahtala was certain could never be worth more than a 100 credit bounty. Worthless scum in her eyes not worth conversing with for any reason. She remained quiet throughout the trip, watching the chronometer as time ticked by. It was times like this that she wished she could afford her own ship. Sadly, she still had to save up for her own while taking public transit systems and relying on others.

This job better pay what they say it does. This one will need those credits.. badly.., the barabel huntress thought to herself as the shuttle touched down on Nal Hutta, within view of the HUB.

"Enjoy your stay, valued customers," droned the sarcastic sounding pilot as he opened the doors and motioned for everyone to depart.

Sebas knew that she was a bit early, but she would rather not miss the target and her team. She found an unoccupied taxi speeder and its driver hanging out in front of the spaceport. Holding up a few credit chits, she ordered a direct route to the HUB where she was to meet other Cartel agents.

The massive structure loomed overhead now as she stepped out and tossed a few credits to the taxi driver casually. At this hour it was a busy center for all types of beings moving about in a rush. Luckily, a Geonosian was not a common sight here and her target would be easy to spot. By now she had already forgotten the names of the two she was supposed to work with on the mission. Instead of looking up the information or worrying about it, she learned against a wall to the right side of the main doors, hands rested at her hips where her pistols were holstered.

"Time for thisss one to earn her pay..," she said hissingly to herself as she waited in anticipation for the others to arrive.

Chadwick Nar was sitting in a small cafe just across from the hub, wearing the jacket of an undercover cop that he'd 'found' dying of an overdose off of spice some hours before. The passes were still active, and the body had yet to be found, so Chadwick had found himself a nice new coat after he'd taken his knife to the trackers. It was like they mass produced this things. He'd chosen it because it would, after he did some messing about with the ID, allow him to pass as a member of Hubb Security. It wouldn't pass under intense scrutiny, but in the event of any... Excitement, he'd be able to trick someone into believing he really was an undercover cop.

His target was a Genosian. He'd only ever been close with one of these things before, and that had been in a space suit where he'd shot it in the head in such a way that it's internal organs managed to escape out of the neck... It had been a gruesome way to go, and sometimes he still heard the sound it made when he slept, and the experience definitely didn't want him to get any closer to the beings. But right now, there wasn't a single insectoid in sight. Good. He looked at his forth stimcaf. Raising it to his mouth, he finished half of it in one go.

He'd been drinking them because of who he'd be working with today. Krahtala Sebas. 'Ssssebassss' it probably sounded like. Was that racist? Chadwick was fairly sure it was racist. He shook his head slightly, the stimcaf getting to him. Right, Sebas. She was a Barabel. 'She' and 'Barabel' in the same sentence sent a shiver down Chadwick's spine. It was like some sick god was punishing him by causing them to evolve. He was fairly sure he could see her, leaning against a building. He finished the stimcaf when he decided that yes, that was her.

The second character joining him was a little harder to find. Human, male, dark hair... Not exactly distinctive. Then again, he hadn't seen a picture. Maybe the guy had crazy-eyes. You never know until you meet the person. Chadwick was fairly sure that Sebas was distinctive enough for Jaraxsus Lannis to find them. So he stood up and began to walk over to her, casually, as if moving to get the sun on his face. He settled on the wall at a distance that didn't seem suspicious and would hopefully tell her who he was. Or she'd try to disembowel him. No, that was his misogyny kicking in...

Unlike humans, Hapan misogyny was an actual fear of women. That could make dealing with outsiders strange, as Chadwick had long since found. He still couldn't quite deal with women without a large amount of caffine in him, which he thankfully did right now. He sat against the wall and kept an eye out for either Lannis or the bug. He was sure Sebas was doing the same.

Krahtala glanced over at the man who approached and sat against the wall. He had to be one of the two she was assigned to this mission with from the Cartel. Another human, who didn't seem like much at first glance. Perfect for not easily being tied to herself if things went sideways. Her Mabari Armorweave cloak was pulled closed and her hood was up as well. The light armor often looked more like clothing than something used for battle. It helped her seem unimposing in large crowds.

After what seemed like another hour, a group of five Geonosians stepped out of a transport near the HUB entrance. Their leader was in the middle, wearing adornments of various metals over his robes. The rest were basically naked besides their exoskeleton and hovered in a square around him. Holstered at their sides were those unique weapons the Geonosians always seemed to wield. A sonic blaster she remembered. The delegate himself was unarmed it seemed. The small group approached the doors slowly, awkwardly unable to push through a crowd well.

The third team member was nowhere to be seen yet. Typical, Sebas thought to herself as she figured the pair would need to act alone. She pushed away from the wall and casually walked down the steps towards the Geonosians. No harm is to come to them, and no HUB Security alerts.., she remembered her orders given about the incoming group.

An armed escort would make this harder to negotiate. Though she did notice that her partner seemed to have a plan. Perhaps they could convince the Delegate that they were HUB Security and they needed to use a side entrance for extra security... Sebas was more for battle and capture than this subtle persuasion. She hoped Chadwick could do the real talking and she would be the backup.

'Beepbeep' 'Beepbeep'

The high pitched chime of my wrist com went off as I lay in bed attempting to sleep off this god awful flu that had come out of no where. The nasely sound of my own voice was repulsive to my ears as I complained audibly about the annoying device. "God... Can't a hunter get some sleep?" He opened the transmission "This is Galla... What do you want?" A voice he wasn't familiar with came through the comm "Zane Galla your presence is required for a mission you will be sent the information momentarily." I sighed heavily as I pushed my body out of the bed. I felt like a steaming pile of shab... "No chance I can take a rain check is there?" the comm shut off. "Asshole."

I forced myself into a shower and allowed my sinuses to drain. Disgusting I know, but it felt amazing. The bags under my eyes could have been used to box with. I looked as poorly as I felt. I threw on a white tank top and my Armorweve jacket along with my usual mission gear. Ebony & Ivory hung from my hips and Rebellion was at my back.

My data pad chimed as the info on the mission came through. "Dammit. I hate kiddnapping missions...." On the way out of my apt I grabbed a case of tranquilizer darts and the gun they went with and slid it into the back of my pants. "This had better be easy and pay well." I entered the elevator in my building and fell asleep on the way down. I was awoken by the sudden feeling of falling as I woke up just in time to catch myself from face planting. Of course as the elevator doors opened the hot Zeltron from 34N stepped on. I knocked out a few push up and hopped up. "Gotta stay active right?" I quickly made my exit of the elevator and face palmed as I made it to my hoverbike.

I turned started up the bike and headed off to the rendezvous point. I parked a few block down from the spot and got off the bike. "HA-CHU!" I sneezed as I got off the bike and as my body recoiled from the heart stopping force of the sneeze... I bumped the hover bike sending it over on it's side. "Kark me..." I lifted the bike back to it's standing position. A stream of profanity flew from my mouth as the newly added scratches ruined the paint job.

Out of breath and sweating from the slight effort of lifting the hover bike I straighten my jacket and ignored the random on lookers I might have attracted. "I swear to god if this mission get's out of hand I'm killing something. ANYTHING!" I thought as I arrived at the rendezvous point.

Krahtala was upset to find her companions nowhere nearby. She was now about face to face with the delegate. His security team looked nervous about an armed Barabel coming so close at a direct line. Suppose it was time to give this her best shot. What could possibly go wrong in the open anyways? The Geonosians were stopped in front of her now, guards with their hands on their weapons.

"Welcome to Nal Hutta, Delegate," she began simply, spreading her arms a bit in a sign of peace. "Thisss one isss here from Ssssecurity to essscort you insssside. A threat hass come on your life. Follow thisss one."

The looks from the Geonosians was skeptical. Some odd clicking noises followed as they discussed amongst themselves. Krahtala had no clue what they were saying. That bothered her a little but so far no weapons had been drawn. Those Sonic Blasters could be nasty at this range. The Huntress crossed her arms now, watching as they seemed to quickly and fearfully be debating amongst themselves.

"Xxxclicksszmd sjd shsj," came the reply from the Delegate himself.

There was no response from the Barabel as she simply stared at them some more. The language was unknown to her and Geonosians were not known for having the physical ability to speak basic or Huttese. Fantastic that they failed to bring even a protocol droid with them. Luckily, after a few moments of silence the Delegate motioned for her to move. At least he understood some fairly universal hand gestures. She turned to lead them away from the main entrance, ensuring the group of Geonosians that the front door was too dangerous. An alleyway alongside the HUB was quiet. There were no side doors down that way, but they didn't have to know that.

This one hopes at least one of her companions will be at the meeting spot, she thought to herself as they approached the location deep within the alleyway.

The armed guards didn't have to survive. Just the Delegate, technically. Though it may be best to get them to surrender and make this a lot easier. Her fingers stroked at the handles of her pistols as she waited to arrive. She made sure to be looking around, as if for assassins, to avoid suspicion. Perhaps the attack would be expected and she could use that to her advantage. If they thought she was friendly, they would include her in the fight against whoever the assistant was. She had already forgotten his name, but he was supposed to be a solid fighter.

As I waited in the random alley way that quite possibly could have been the wrong place I leaned against the wall and felt the cool permacrete on my back. It was amazing. I could tell this sickness was reaching it's peak and I needed to stay sharp for the remainder of the mission so, I meditated. I closed my eyes and submerged into the force. I allowed my self to see the world through the third eye within and prepared for the task at hand. My portion of the mission was simple. Take care of any loose strings. Normally, this type of task wasn't to my taste. I didn't like killing things for doing their jobs, but if there were guards they'd have to die. I didn't haven enough sleeping darts for an army and I needed to conserve what I had until I put the delegate down. As my internal monologue ran over different scenarios I picked up movement through the force. A group of six were coming this way. Based on their positions I could tell there were four guards the delegate and one other. "I really hope that last one is with us."

The mission dictated that only the delegate had to be returned. As the team of six rounded the corner I figured it was about time to lighten our load. Staying in the force I pulled my twin blasters and let four bolts fly. Each searing hot plasma bolt slammed into it's corresponding target. The attack had been completely unexpected and as the body guards fell like the trash discarded upon the street I sneezed. As I wiped my nose and looked up I spotted the crimson barabel I'd worked with a few weeks ago.

"Gah... I feel like crap. Can you restrain that moron?" I called out to my crimson comrade. Once the delegate was restrained I'd put a tranq in him and get the kriff out of here. I could feel sweat pouring down my face. I looked like I'd just run a marathon. I moved toward the pair that were left and holstered my blasters. I wouldn't be needing them for the rest of the mission. If anything I'd tranq the rest of our interference. The thought of a bunch of sleeping thugs brought a smile to my face as I made it to The Barabel's side.

"Nice to see you again." I said with a hand extended to greet her. It wasn't very often I worked with the same people back to back. It was nice to know who you were working with for a change.

The Huntress was not too surprised when the guards were cut down by blaster shots in short order. She had noticed the marksman skills of Zane before and the plan was for an ambush to happen in the alley. Though the little bit of surprise that did show only went to sell her act better, so she was able to save face. The Delegate panicked, unsure of what to do. He looked to Krahtala for help and she drew her two pistols as Zane walked forward.

"Gah... I feel like crap. Can you restrain that moron?" the Corellian muttered towards her as he got closer.

Before the Geonosian could attempt to flee, she turned around to the cowering diplomat and snapped him on top of the head with the handles of the pistols. He fell to the ground easily and shook with pain, though didn't get totally knocked out. The Tranquilizer that Zane provided did knock him out though, and the kidnapping was done easily. First step had gone okay for once in her Hutt Career.

"Nice to see you again." the familiar Corellian had greeted her with as he extended a hand in a very human greeting.

Krahtala stared at him for a moment, not answering the greeting at all. She had just seen him looking sicker than a Kath Hound and now he wanted physical contact? No thanks, she wasn't into that kind of thing. Hopefully after her refusal of the hand shake he would get the point and not be offended. Finally, she decided to speak up before it got awkward.

"Thisss one isss glad to know ssshe can rely on her partner," she stated slowly, glancing down at the hand. "Too often it sssseemssss they vanisssshhh."

First thing the Barabel did was take a pair of the Geonosian Sonic pistols off of their bodies and clip them to her belt on the back. Spoils of battle for her collection or to send back to Barab I. She loved to take things she could from the dead. They wouldn't need it. She then grabbed the Geonosian delegate by the neck and pulled him to her side in an awkward support-carry, almost as if carrying a drunken friend. They would need to move quietly and not be spotted dragging him away. The bodies of the guards would need to vanish for at least a little while too. She would make the Corellian do that while she moved the diplomat.

My hand hung in the gap between us as the crimson huntress allowed it to dangle. It was only after a couple seconds that I realized I had the flu... why would anyone want to shake my hand. Quickly, I dropped the disease passing hand gesture and apologized. "Thisss one isss glad to know ssshe can rely on her partner, Too often it sssseemssss they vanisssshhh." I wasn't really sure how to take this statement. From my point of view I was given an order and I showed up. Nothing more, and nothing less.

I watched as the barabel stripped the bodies of their weapons. Kinda gross in my opinion, but I had just tried to shake hands while being sick so, I had no room to talk. "I'll get rid of these bodies. I know a guy." I looked at the four guards on the ground and knew my contact wasn't gonna like this. Returning my sights back to Sebas I said "Why don't you start taking him to the next rendezvous point. Once my business is done here I'll meet you and we can be on our way." I'd wait to hear any objections and humor any remarks.

Once the huntress was off I opened my wrist com and dialed in a frequency I'd acquired one night after drinking with a stranger. The stranger was Mr. Vornsker. I hadn't known it at the time but Mr. Vornsker was skilled in making things disappear. The eraser, if you will, only did jobs for people he liked and luckily, I was on that list.

The com channel rang for a couple of seconds and then the voice of my associate came through the device. "Hey kid. You need some help?" straight and to the point. I loved this guy already. I chuckled before replying "Yeah, I've got four parcels that need to be taken out." of course my voice sounded like my nose had been completely removed from my body. The nasally sound seemed to throw my drinking partner off a bit. "Uh, you ok kid. Ya sound like you got hit by a landspeeder." I face palmed. "Yeah, I'm just a little under the weather, but I'm fine." Mr. Vornsker chuckled "Alright, send me your location and I'll be there shortly." I uploaded my location to him and replied "Location sent. See you soon." I closed the com after he replied and waited.

About thirty minutes later a trashcompacting speeder showed up and Mr. Vornsker hopped out of the truck. He was wearing a full tuxedo and his hair was slicked back. He was the epitome of dapper. He quickly surveyed the area and removed his jacket placing it in the truck. He then looked at me and said "If I'm curt it's because time is of the essence. I'm not here to say please I'm here to tell you what to do. Now Drag toes two bodies over here and be quick about it."

I snapped into action dragging the bodies to the truck and then throwing them into the back of the compactor. Once all four were loaded up he smiled and without a word he drove off. "What in the hell just happened." I said to myself as I watched the truck drive away. I looked at my crono and just about 45 minutes had passed since Sebas and I had gone separate ways. With any luck she would be at the checkpoint in a few minutes. I had a coughing attack and then spit a glob mucus to the ground. "Gross." I thought as I made my way back to my hoverbike. I mounted up and took off toward the next checkpoint.

Krahtala made no comment to Zane as she started to drag the unconscious delegate through they alleyways. They had foolishly decided to take him from the ambush point to the spaceport in order to fly him back home. It was a long walk that would have been nicer in a speeder. Sadly, they had to carry him through to avoid security checking the incoming speeder and finding their prisoner. The Cartel often made use of a quieter entrance that could be reached easily on foot. It would have Cartel guards that would ask no questions.

"Thisss one ssshould have thought it through better..," she thought out loud as the 50 minute journey was coming to a close, at last.

There had still been no sign of the Corellian after volunteering to handle the bodies. Fantastic. Perhaps she spoke too soon about him seeming reliable. Alone, she had carried the surprisingly heavy Geonosian all the way across the HUB district it seemed. The back pathways were clear of people, so there were no issues getting to the Spaceport. The Delegate probably still had his ship there with a pilot. She was contemplating her move inside the Spaceport when Zane finally caught up.

"Took long enough," she said to the sick Corellian sharply. "The Spaceport issss jussst ahead. Any idea how to convinccce the pilot of hissss sssship?"

The Barabel had few plans for the pilot, likely another Geonosian, waiting inside the ship to fly the delegate home. If Zane could fly, maybe just shoot him and do the drop off that way. Wake up the Delegate on his own world and deliver the message. Though she might prefer making the bug fly them back for ease of access just in case of Security checks. Either way, they were in for a trip to Geonosis. Probably a two or three day trip. Longer getting home if she had to take public transport. Though the pay for the job should more than cover her expenses and time spent.

"Took long enough," stated the ungrateful barabel. "Why do I try and help these freaking shab heads?" I thought as I was floored by the rude comment. I was familiar with punk start ups looking to make a name for themselves spouting off at the mouth, but complaining about someone who'd been called in last minute seemed dumber then usual. I shook my head as my temper ebbed. I was sick and getting worse I could only freaking pray that this lizard got the flu.

"Yeah, ya know making sure FOUR dead bodies don't show up on a holovid and tie back to the cartel is kind of a big deal." My eyes were fierce daring her to say something else. I was just a prospect, but I'd been involved in enough missions and bounties to know what common courtesy was. "You got a problem with making sure the mission get's done right?" the question was rhetorical. "Yeah, I've got an idea." I said as I walked toward the Cartel entrance of the spaceport. I flashed my I.D. at the guard and entered allowing the barabel to finish her burden carry. I made sure the coast was clear and waved Sabas on. We made it to the ship with out a problem.

I jogged up to the ship. The geonosian pilot was leaning against the hull and as I approached he went for his weapon. I raised my hands smiling showing him I meant no harm. Confused the over grown bug cocked it's head to the side long enough for me to slam my fist into it's cranium. I took my previous frustration with the lizard out on the bug. Once I was sure the pilot was incapacitated I picked the bug up and carried it into the ship. I sat the Geo in the co-captain's seat and started the ship up. I secured the pilot into the seat so that when it came too the geo wouldn't be able to escape. I planned to force the bug into helping us through the check points and then once we got to the destination I'd waste him and jettison the body. Now I waited for the barabel to get into the ship so we could break atmosphere. I could only hope that by the end of it I'd be feeling better.

The ship was ugly, and the pilot another ugly bug thing. This assignment was becoming a bit frustrating. At least they had gotten it done seamlessly so far. Krahtala was ready to get paid and move forward. Her partner didn't seem too happy with the mission or the company. Could be worse, she figured.

"Thisss one wondersss if the Delegate will ever wake up..," she asked, trying to lighten the mood.

As if the Geonosian could hear her, he started to turn and wake up. Fantastic. The talking could start before they even landed. She wouldn't complain about it. The hard part would be making sure he understood their message and didn't come back to bother the Hutts. Worse, she didn't think either of them understood Geonosians. Not like he needed to speak anyways. A pistol to the face and a stern message would be enough.

"Clkxa Ixlax..," it said to them, still drowsy from the tranquilizer.

Krahtala held a blaster pistol to his face at point blank. Her reptilian eyes stared into his eyes from behind the pistol. Funny, that the reptilian held an insect at her mercy. Was much really different from primitive times? She didn't plan to feed on him at least. Maybe the pilot. Not that it would make very good meat. Sentient meat always tasted wrong. She shook the idea out of her head while simultaneously motioning for the Delegate to be silent.

"Thisss one sssay it onccce," the huntress started, pressing the pistol barrel against the exoskeleton between his eyes. "The Cartel isss not interesssted in helping you. Beg elsssewhere. Come back or report usss, and you will find me lesss merccciful, bug."

She was trying to be intimidating and play the threat card, but she wasn't lying when she made the threat. She hated these creatures and would enjoy making it suffer for crossing them. It was almost a hopeful thought to see the bug come back again to be her play thing. Nothing was said in response, but she could tell the Geonosian would think twice, maybe three times, before coming back or saying anything. Too bad. She had scared him good.

Zane was still up front keeping the pilot company and flying us to Geonosis. Just as Krahtala finished with the prisoner, they dropped out of hyperspace near a checkpoint. The pilot began to click and struggle in its seat. Good timing. She could only hope that their lack of linguistic understanding wouldn't get them in trouble. If the pilot valued his life, he would report nothing. Would they know he had before too late? Perhaps so. Only time would tell. Zane had better handle it. Krahtala didn't want to die in space.

"Thisss one wondersss if the Delegate will ever wake up..,"

I couldn't help but laugh, "Yeah, he'll wake up, I promise I left my bug spray at home." I chuckled as I made my way toward the crappy ship. Like clock work the tranq started to wear off. I pulled out my translator and tossed it to the huntress. "Use this, it'll make sense out of that jibberish they call a language." I said as I made my way inside the ship.

We got off world with out a hitch. We hit the first check point and the pilot started to get all froggy. I activated my wrist holocom's translator and listened to the being's plees for mercy. <"Please, don't kill me, I'll do whatever you as I swear it!"> I smiled and spoke into the device <"I want you to tell this checkpoint and every one after this one that everything is fine. You're on you return voyage home. Do you understand?"> the bug nodded vigorously. "Good." I said without the use of the translator. i held the translator up and when the bug spoke, he spoke true to my instructions. I nodded my approval and sat back in the pilots chair. With the checkpoint out of the way Zane made the preparations for the final decent final descent. The pilot began to fidget and sprang for the main com, but with a little warning fromt he force he was never able to reach the controls.

As the bug sprang forward Zane martial art muscle memory kicked in and he kicked the bug in the face. His boot planted the insect to the wall of the ship and he leaned his weight into it. He could feel the thin membrane under his boot begin to give as he held the wrist com up to his mouth. <"That was a no, no."> He released the pressure from the bugs head only to replace the boot with a superman punch to the Geonosian's enlarged head. The being crumpled. I'd completely seperated him form his senses and if it was lucky I wouldn't do so permanently. I stun cuffed the bug to a chair away form the controls and walked back to the huntress.

"Hey we're making out final decent soon. Is everything ready?" I hoped she had taken care of everything. If not I'd have to exercise my ability to "convince" the head honcho here what was about to happen. It was only at this moment that I realized I was starting to feel better. "Huh, when in doubt sweat it out I guess." I thought as I awaited my companion's response.

The squirming Geonosian had not said anything after her threat. He knew there was no hope, he could understand that much. Zane came in as they got through the last checkpoint. So far he seemed to have control of the transport job. Good. She did not want to die in space. The Corellian partner looked a lot better. Guess the thrill of the job was helpful to him, or something. Krahtala didn't want any kind illness spreading to her. Disgusting.

"Hey we're making out final decent soon. Is everything ready?"

Always to the point with her. Whether he was always like that or just uncomfortable with the Barabel didn't matter to her. She had the delegate in understanding and was indeed ready for the next part. The final part. She gave the Corellian a slow nod of affirmation. They were ready to drop off the loser. The loser in question was still quivering in fear, mostly due to the pistol that was still held to his face as if begging for an excuse to fire just one blast.

"Land ussss, an agreement isss underssstood," she hissed simply as silence hung over the group.

She glanced to the cockpit, where she could see the pilot drooping in his seat, cuffed and unconcious. Perfect. He would be easy to dispose and they could make their way back to Hutt space without issue. That was her hope at least. She hated space. It was the worst. Who would want to die there? Maybe space warriors who somehow enjoy that battleground.

"Land ussss, an agreement isss underssstood,"

I nodded. I liked the way the barabel worked. She was efficient, I could depend on her. I'd have to keep that in mind for missions down the road. There was something to be said about a good partner.

"Sounds good. I'll take us down and we can get this insect problem under control." I smirked and turned around toward the cockpit. As I walked away I asked "Anywhere in particular we need to land, or can we just dump these bugs off somewhere?" I would abide by the barabel's word. After all I was simply a call in. I took my seat and easily guided the ship to the ground. I set down where the barabel said and then helped her get purge the ship of the current infestation. "I'm gonna need a serious shower after this..." I thought.

Once this was taken care of all we had to do was get back to Nar Shaddaa and it was mission complete. I knew a couple back lanes that would get us past the checkpoints without a problem. "Well, you ready to wrap this mission up Sebas?" I asked as I reentered the ship and headed for the cockpit.

Thissss issss hissss planet. He can find hisss way home," Krahtala answered, her amused tone apparent even through the hissing. "Time to go home and get paid."

The Geonosian seemed to have accepted his fate. At least he was alive. That was probably the only reason he was not in a panic or threatening to alert authorities. He had been spared and told to spread the fact that negotiations with the Hutts failed. The mission was settled and it was time to go home. Zane seemed to be in complete agreement with her based on the way he was acting. She didn't blame him at all.

As per her suggestion, they landed at the first viable spot and kicked the Delegate out. Krahtala crouched down with her pistol once more in his face.

"Thisss one knowsss where to find you."

Simple as that. He scurried off, wings flapping violently as he made his way to wherever he belonged. Good riddance. Krahtala didn't understand a word of that insect's language. She would have been content killing him and sending his head to the Geonosis government as their message. Hutts did not agree, apparently. It had to be quiet and subtle. She could handle that at times, but this situation just made things stupidly complicated. Did the Cartel come up with mission parameters in hopes of messing with their prospects? Probably. She would do the same in their boots.

"Let usss head home."

"Let usss head home."

That was music to my ears. This mission was done and I would finally be able to get some shut eye. My body started kicking my ass again. My sinuses clogged and my head started to pound. "Well, at least the mission is over..." I thought as I moved to the cockpit to start up the ship. We broke atmosphere and hit the hyper-lane that brought us to the backside of Nar Shadda. The pilot was taken care of when they dropped off the delegate. A quick bolt to his brain and a pit stop as we took off was all she wrote for the brave bug. The ride back was boring completely uneventful, but ya know what I was getting paid and for once not a single thing went wrong.

We landed on the smuggler's moon a few hours later. I planed to take this genosean piece of crap ship and have it scrapped, but another idea came alive in my mined. "Hey, Sebas. You need a ship? I know some people who could clean this thing up for cheap. If you don't want it I'm just gonna junk it." It was the truth. This ship was the last piece of evidence the delegate had been removed. If the Barabel took the ship she would need to alter it's appearance a bit change the paint job or something like that but that was easy here on Nar.

With the last matter taken care of the mission was over. "Take care of yourself Sebas, If you ever need a partner in crime let me know, huh?" With that I made my way home. I needed sleep and some heavy medication to get over this damn cold.

Krahtala hissed sharply at the thought of using the Geonosians ship. It had basically nothing for armor, shielding, or weapons. Useless coffin for her space travels. No thanks. She turned to look at Zane. He had his heart in the right place to ask, but she had zero desire to take the junker. She pretended to consider the ship, looking it over carefully. Nope, nope, and nope. After a moment she shook her head at her Corellian partner.

"Thisss one will passs..," her sharp hiss answered back, trying not to sound rude. "Another sssship hass been on my lissst."

In all honesty, Zane was probably one of the most reliable ones in the Cartel she had worked with. Most of the others were either incompetent or just didn't rub her the right way. Not to say the Corellian was perfect. The perfect partner would be a fellow Barabel she could relate to easily. Most of her kind stayed out of the Hutt Cartel ranks other than lowly guards or workers. Sad really. The Hutts controlled Barab I, which made some lose their pride. They didn't like being controlled by another. Many left to do independent work or sought out mercenary crews. At least it made things easier on her when it came to gaining power over he homeworld. If she ranked up in the Hutt Cartel, she could request posts overseeing the planet. Good for both parties, as she saw it.

"The Huttsss will be pleasssed with our work," she added casually as they were about to go their separate ways. "If thisss one needss a partner for the next paycheck, ssshe will call you."

Another job well done, and another drop into her credit account.
