Imperial socialite and heir, Senator Caliban Drast has refused to comment on his reported inactivity as leader of the AMS task force, after probing questions from a top journalist, Strawberry Fields, fell on deaf ears. Catching the absentee Senator off guard yesterday evening, Drast refused to deny reports that he is himself recovering from the AMS virus, hence his disappearance from public life.
The Senator, who is a member of the infamous Drast family, Senator refused to deny that members of his family, who have historic ties to the Sith Order, are behind the AMS virus, seeking to bring down the Republic. Drast, who could return to the throne should certain factions within the Sith establishment get their way, has been absent from the public eye for some while and has drawn attacks from political friends and rivals alike for failing to lead the AMS task force as the virus ravages the galaxy.
Some have been quick to suggest that Drast, who stands to gain should the AMS virus sink the Republic, has done so deliberatly.
