A shadow was cast across his face as he sat hidden in plain sight. It had been years since he had last seen the Jedi, his brothers and sisters. He thought he had been strong, that he had turned the corner on Ryloth all those years ago, but things never really changed. He thought he had a vision, a path to guide him and to bring light to the galaxy, but slowly darkness only grew.
From the shadows, he watched as his brothers and sisters took on the galaxy and the Sith, with each of them slowly falling. Everything he had ever known was slowly crumbling upon him, yet that was always his life. No matter what, it always seemed he was the last one left, the sole survivor left to face the torment of his weakness, his cowardly behavior that he tried to deeply to cover up. He was weak, and a coward. He had failed his family, his master, his padawans, his friends, those he swore to protect. His hands trembled as he gripped his weak knees, a slight gasp of breath escaping from his lips as he held back the emotions that plagued him.
"You look like you were bucked by a tauntaun," a voice called out from the crowd.
Rayden glanced up, bringing hands across his face as he did his best to find his center, "I'm..I'm fine, thanks...for asking," though his voice betrayed his words. Before the man could reach the aged knight, he was already on his feet and back into the crowded streets of a city whose name he had forgotten. "I..failed.."
