I do! :CHappy:

So can duct tape, but I don't hear anyone complaining about that. :p

Okay, let me rephrase. The purpose of a gun is to kill somebody. The purpose of duct tape is to tape things (funnily enough). Duct tape isn't advertised to be used as a weapon, guns are...that's where the complaints come in, hun.

While guns are instruments to kill people, I do like the thought of having one to protect my family. A 8 digit code to open the case, so the children can't reach in and play with it, no bullets in the chamber, and a single clip of 8/12 bullets. One of those that only makes flesh wounds would be prefered, since I wouldn't want to kill no one, just hurt them enough to prevent any harm to my family, and to stop them 'till the cops arrive. Yes, this means I would only use in case my house got broke into. And yes, I would have the mental fortitude not to jump on my gun at any slight problem to solve it the easy way...it would be to theives only.

If you need a gun to protect your family, then you need to man up.

Not necessarily. This isn't a case on 'manning up', but one of protecting someones life. What if they have guns? You expect someone to run in with their fists just to appear 'manly'? Even if I was some sort of pro westler, I wouldn't want to risk the life of someone I loved, and would want a gun to protect them against others who would wish to harm. Ols, you'd risk the life of your family and yourself just to appear 'manly' would you?

Please, despite what people say about Britain we live in a very safe country.

The chances of someone turning up at your house robbing it with a gun are 1 in a million.

There is about as much chance as being hit by lightning but no one walks around with a lead umbrella do they?

Alright, I'll give some hood a gun and let him rob your house. You be sure to punch him really really hard too before he gets a shot to fire at you. True in a house where you are most of the time in very tight quarters you mayb be able to get the jump on the guy but if you make the slightest wrong step and then it all ends. All that physical pursuit and training brought down by a small piece of metal launched by combustible powder.

Using a gun for the sake of it is stupid and wasteful unless you are learning the propper procedures for its better use and by that I mean just shooting a stationary target from a few feet away as that is the only time a civilian should be using a gun. All those fancy modifications and high-grade weaponry sure is pretty but more suited for the military instead of defending your family and townhouse.

Those aren't even real guns. They all have orange caps on them.

Well, I assume he made this to talk about guns so he thought he'd just post a picture of all of his airsoft "weapons". Sadly, even without the orange tips I would have known them to be toys because a weapon like the G36C is illegal to own. Your also welcome, I do my best day and night to make you look like a down right fool.

No, actually I'm risking nobody's life by not owning a gun. At the end of the day, even if I had a gun, and somebody broke into my house with a gun, it's still not garunteed he wouldn't shoot me first (odds are he'd surprise me and I'd get shot anyway).

I've learnt how to use a gun. I've seen enough guns to last me a lifetime, but I still think the public should not have the right to own them.

Look at this place for an example. All of you lot who seem convinced that someone with a gun will try and rob you and shoot you are American. Where you can buy a gun fairly easily. All of you lot who think guns are dangerous tend to live in countries where they are much harder to get hold of, if not illegal altogether. I'm not saying making them illegal will stamp out all guncrime, I know that there still is some guncrime in Britain. But compare it per capita with America - there's a huge amount more there. Make them illegal and watch the number of deaths and injuries from gunshot wounds plummet.

I'd also like to ask, those of you who seem to think you need a gun for security, how many of you have actually had to use it? I'd bet the minority, and a small minority at that, again proving that overall they aren't necessary.

I agree with you for the most part that in America we need to put huge restrictions on gun ownership or axe them all together but our country legally states the right its civilians has to own such weapons.
