Just let me explain before you jump to conclusions. :)
Next Timeline I plan on creating a Sector Ranger (which is a cop basically) named Troy Walker. Now I have not finished his character sheet and he is still very much a work in progress. But basically Troy Walker will be a rough, gruff, cowboy cop. A badass at his job, and he loves his job very much, he's dedicated to combating inter-galactic crime and criminals. And Troy's good at what he does.
But, I want him to have a family. Which is where I need you to help me.
I'm looking for a fellow writer who would be willing to roleplay Troy Walker's wife. Now I already have a character concept for Troy's wife, because originally I was going to NPC her. But I feel like I'm missing a huge opportunity by NPCing her, and I want to give this a chance. So if someone would like to roleplay this character Mrs. Walker then I'd happily let them take control and make the character into who they want.
Why do I want to do this?
Simple I want to make a good story, because that's what this is all about, writing good stories together. So this is what I envision, and this is what you need to know. The basics of Troy Walker and his past, and a little bit of Mrs.Walkers past: NOTE subject to change.
He comes from an abusive alcoholic father. His dad beat him a lot when he was a kid. His mother was a no-show, not a mother at all. Troy runs away and stumbles onto a farm. This farm just so happens to be his future wife's farm. So Troy basically gets "adopted" into this new family. Its a small farm and the men of this family work hard to keep it afloat. So Troy learns the life of a Cowboy, and he becomes a part of this family, the family he never had.
Eventually Troy and this Daughter fall in love. And so begins our characters mutual story.
Now here is what makes this interesting. I want Troy to be a good Ranger, but also a good father. Which is near impossible because he can't be both. He has to constantly choose, family man or Law man. This would make for some interesting drama.
Maybe Mrs.Walker gets lonely and all her and Troy do is fight, so she finds love in another man. Damn that's heart breaking.
Maybe they have a kid? Or we start the Timeline off with a kid, that's tough, kids are tough to handle alone. Especially with a single mother, and a father who is never around.
Maybe they decide to get divorced? Maybe they can't take the stress anymore and decide to split? Who gets the kid?
Maybe Troy gets a case, and it ends badly, sadly. He comes home and tells his wife about it. Watching a grown man break down is heartbreaking.
Hell, maybe the wife has enough or maybe the kid?
I just want to explore that family dynamic. The stress and hardships of having this family. But also the good sides. I want to explore romance and get all gooy and emotional. Highs and lows, good and bad, happy and sad. I want it all and I want someone else to want it to!
There are a lot of roads this can go down, but inevitability, it is for us to decide, me and the other writer. I know this requires you to write a "Normal" woman, which means basically a stay at home, mother/wife, who's spends her nights staying awake for a man who may or may not come home.
Lots of potential and I'd love to share it with someone. Anyone interested?
