Idea for a Council meeting

Considering how it took over a year in OOC time for the Jedi Order to become proactive in the fourth timeline, we're really going to want to hit the ground running. The timeline won't be starting with a battle, but there will be events (missions, quests) leading up to the first battle -- and more on all that will be announced to everyone on the site tonight.

I had an idea for a way that the Council can immediately begin role-playing and start being proactive at the same time. I'll have to run this by Malon to see if he cares, but I thought it would be interesting if his character, Darth Judicar, only recently became Dark Lord of the Sith. As Sage Master, I could feel some sort of disturbance in the Force and have a bit of a vision, and I would come to the conclusion that there is a new, far more dangerous Dark Lord than the one who came before.

This would allow us to start having missions to investigate, etc.

Thoughts?

It seems like a good way to get things kick-started. That's exactly the sort of thing that'll have Augustus demandng to be unleashed on the Sith. Plus, we can start using some of our padawans to go out and have a look and listen in the galaxy.

Oh, speaking of which, waaay earlier in the day, will asked me to put together a writeup for my Temple flagship. I reckon I'm about ready to roll with it, but I figured I should run it by you (Bac) at least first?

I figure it would make sense for you to start it, Bac, since I imagine it would be your character calling for a special session, rather than raising it in a routine one.

Or we could have it as the focus for a routine session, in which case, it should be will, really?

In fact, I reckon a routine session would be good, a proper council session to start the Jedi off?

I agree it'd be good to have a regular council session to start off the Jedi as a faction, but it doesn't really make sense to me that such an urgent vision would be left on hold until a scheduled session came about? Trivial, perhaps, but it's a point nonetheless.

PErhaps the vision could have been had a day or so before a scheduled meeting anyway, so they might as well wait until the scheduled one anyway (seeing as some of the councillors won't be on Tython and will take some time to get there anyway)?

We could invent some fake, already completed missions and their results, or discuss events that need dealing with. Those small temple-specific missions could be raised here, or discussed?

We can also bring up missions pertaining to the rise of this new Dark Lord - fact finding, recconaisance (lolspelling) etc. There could also be a diplomatic mission or two where diplomats approach the alliance with the news?

Both of these sounds like plausible topics to bring up. A general report in for any knowledge we've garnered on the Sith, etc. Galak can report in as well on whatever the Senate and Galactic Alliance have 'discovered' or talked on so far, which would just be made up and very broad.
