ATTRIBUTES:
Iden is an intelligent young woman, though in some ways when it comes to how the Galaxy works she can be a bit naive. Iden has a tendency to feel incredible guilt over mistakes or actions she makes, sometimes causing her to act foolishly in an attempt to rectify the situation or to shut down in guilt entirely. She knows that learning from your mistakes is the Jedi way, but she often struggles with this.
PERSONALITY: Iden is a determined young woman with a desire to always do the right thing. She doesn’t have a bubbly personality but neither is she as solemn as many Jedi tend to be. Sometimes Iden can get so focused on one thing that she fails to see the bigger picture in situations.
BIOGRAPHY: Iden Farlander grew up on her home planet of Corellia. After the war claimed her father’s life, Iden and her mother were forced to make their own way. The death of her father put added pressure on Iden, so she began working in a local shop to help support she and her mother, despite her young age.
When a Jedi Knight suddenly appeared in her life at age 12, 8 years ago, and offered to train her as a Jedi, Iden was shocked and excited at the opportunity. Despite the desire to accept such an offer, Iden knew she couldn’t leave her mother alone. However, her mother, seeing that her daughter could make a better life for herself and would be well taken care of, urged her daughter to take the Jedi up on his offer.
Reluctantly and with many shed tears, Iden waved goodbye to her mother and left Corellia to accompany the Jedi Knight to one of their Jedi hideouts. Though flourishing in and loving her Jedi Training, Iden has always carried an incredible sense of guilt over leaving her mother. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t think about her mother, and the thought of her mother often pushes Iden to train that much harder. She has never been back to Corellia since that day she left, but she has been in semi-regular contact with her mother over the years. She hopes to see her mother again, but the insufferable war they find themselves in never seems to offer any time for that.
Many of the Jedi Order’s rules are confusing and frustrating to Iden, but she tries her best to accept them, even if she doesn’t understand them all. She often wonders if they’re actually doing any good in this war and if it will ever end, especially since she lost one of her closest friends, a Jedi she had trained with since her beginning in the Order.
SKILLS: Iden committed much of her training to lightsaber prowess and is a fairly accomplished duelist. She is proficient with the force but still has much room for growth in her force abilities. She has always had a keen interest in using the force to heal, a skill she has attempted to master for years. She is fairly agile, and she has average strength capability when not using the force.
