"I do not follow!" The Cloaked shouted angrily, his fists clenched tight. Obviously a nerve of some sort had been struck by the seemingly harmless wording. "I am but a spider with innumerable eyes that see to all corners of existence, whose sight transcends all dimensions, whose gaze penetrates all souls. I watched your path, and created my web for you to fall into.

But yes, that is why I make my presence known to you. That is why I watch you."

The arachnid kept lurching forward violently, but each time was yanked back as if by some invisible leash. Its head protruded now, revealing a long slug-like neck that ended only in the horrid mouth. The battle had ended, at least temporarily, and that was key. Eamic caught on to this, and hoped he was right.

"Alas! It was not intuition but the Force that guided my thoughts!" Eamic whispered with glee into Alycone's ear, "They cannot harm us if we do not choose to draw ourselves into combat! But what is this strange man before us? Pray, find a way to expose him and gain more insight into his motives."

"You are wrong in believing I am bound by some innate pacifism, Zeltron," the Cloaked retorted, hearing the whisper as if it had been uttered into his own ear, "I am the one that restrains my pet. A mortal cannot withstand the onslaught of the Divine nor the Infernal, of which I am both while neither."

Eamic scoffed and paced slowly, eying his opponent. The man was, while placid, still a threat and the Zeltron (who in all his renowned wisdom was not one to trade cryptic monologue for combat) thirsted for battle once more. It wasn't self control, but rather regrettable fear that stayed his sword.

"My music was not designed for those who will not listen, Eamic." The Cloaked said, his head fixated on Alycone, "And she who has inquired surely appreciates the tunes I am playing. Ask another if you wish: your womb will carry the Blood, and from it all destruction will stem. This entitles you to more music."

"Fine: how do you know this? Why should I or Kunta trust your words?" the Tae pressed. Music? If he meant music to listen to, Alcyone heard nothing, so she assumed that it was a name for something else.

"I know this because I was the scribe who translated it from Divine Mandate into the colorful word that your people have referred to as 'Fate' or 'Destiny'. You should trust my words, for as one point in infinite time I was the Holy Scribe, I am now Inferno. I am the damnation and Hell of all souls, or rather, a tool of such. This is the result of treachery bred of previous wont of mercy for your kind, you naive and ignorant mortals. Know that those who created you and your gods do not love you, but rather, wish you to fall. They make you with the sole intent of your destruction. This has been proven in past eternities and will be proven in many more.

Are you listening to my music, Alycone? Or was I wrong in assuming that you can understand it? You and your companion are bright, sharply intelligent there is no doubt, yet I feel none of the Greatness within you. No matter, what the mortals consider the Greatness is mere rhetoric to the Quintessent."

The Cloaked convulsed violently as if caught in a standing seizure. It lasted for only a moment, but during such time the screams of mercy resonated through the air and the pain of infinite suffering pulsated from his form. He continued as if there was no break in his dialogue.

"I digressed, and for that I am sorry. My title of Scribe of course means nothing to those who have not witnessed it, and my present position as Folly is unrecognized I am sure. Never trust one who has nothing to gain, for they are the fraudulent. I have the motive of revenge: as Scribe I have seen all that will come to pass, and has passed, for I was he who put it in motion. And now, as Folly, I tend to make my revenge by upsetting the Divine Mandate I once enacted by the great mortal tendency of revenge. Trust me or not, I will have my triumph.

This duo that stands before me is but a fraction of an iota necessary to achieve my plans. Trust me, Alycone and Eamic, and comply with my will. For if not, it is not in life that I shall find you, but in death."

With that, the man and his beast disappeared. They did not retreat in a cloud of smoke, flash of light, or any other dramatic means of departure. They simply ceased to be in front of the two. Eamic, utterly perplexed by this turn of events, fell heavily against a tree. He was exhausted mentally and stared at Alycone with confused eyes.

"I don't suppose you have any idea what he was talking about, eh?"

"No." She was thinking about the whole thing with unfocused eyes. The Tae realized that she was subconsciously holding a hand to her stomach, and let it fall to her side.

"The Jedi is not far from here. Are you coming?" she inquired, recalling the original purpose of being here.

"You're just gonna move on from that?" The Zeltron said with a look of pure amazement, "I mean, Retto isn't that important to find, not even for me! Retreat or reflection would be our best call, in my opinion, and believe me: that Tynnan isn't going to be exactly pleased to see me stroll into his holding place."

The alien grabbed his saber and shook his head in disbelief, making way to follow Alycone to whatever fate had befallen the Jedi Master. He cared not that he had revealed previously hidden information. Undoubtedly his knowledge of the Jedi's identity would be suspicious, but then again, Eamic didn't even know if he was right. But Jedi were rarely close to Eamic's location, unless of course it was the stout warrior.

She noted that the other mentioned the Jedi's species, which she was positive to have kept that bit of information secretive. He knows more than he lets on; the time will come when the Taen confronts him about it, but not now.

"If you do not want to meet the Jedi, you're welcome to go off on your own," Alcyone answered.

The Taen went off, regardless of what the Shade thought of it, towards where the Jedi was being held hostage by the Gamorreans.

(ooc: waited for Mythos to reply. now moving on)

"And miss getting attacked by another cryptically prophetic man who seemed to stroll out of the devil's dining room?" Eamic replied with a slight laugh as he followed with her. "I think not. Besides I'm quite enthralled with your abilities. I have never seen any force adept use such powers. The unknown is a beautiful thing until it is figured out. Then it is boring. Ah. Oh well, I'm not keen on boredom yet I am obsessed with knowledge so I do not take back my question."

=================

Retto Veraber sat upright in his abject living quarters. Wallowing in degradation and humiliation, the proud Jedi sat and tried to connect himself with the force. It was useless. He knew that he still had the connection, but he was being deafened to it. He could not feel the warming and uplifting power that he was so apt to find solace in. No, someone was keeping him locked in, or rather not letting him branch out. Unbeknown to him was the fact that his hidden prison was merely a mile away from those searching for him...

It wasn't difficult to track down the Gamorrean camp. They typically cared little for detail and hygiene, which made an easy-to-follow path to the location of the camp.

Remaining hidden in the cover provided by night, Alcyone observed for how the Gamorreans secured their resting spot. There was no telling how many Gamorreans there were from the tracks, though it would be safe to assume at least four.

Now where would a Gamorrean keep an imprisoned Jedi?

Eamic grudgingly followed Alycone's lead, used to being at the head of his personal entourage. He laid down low under cover with her, scrutinizing the Gammorean camp. It was quite primitive, and the Zeltron was highly unimpressed with their pathetic excuses for fortifications. After several moments of observation, he pointed to a small figure in shackles being drug violently from a small opening in the ground.

Retto kept his eyes closed and tried to meditate, but it was hard with the violent tugging of the chain around his neck. However, upon exit of his small underground prison he cast a hopeful glance in the direction of the duo. They were covered well enough to be overlooked by the naked eye, but he did not see them, he felt them. With an air of confidence, he (for the first time yet) put up a fight. Planting his feet in the ground, he jerked backward with that renowned Tynnan strength, sending his captors to their feet. He tried to run, ostensibly trying to escape while only attempting to create a distraction for his potential saviors.

Eamic smirked to Alycone,

"Your call mademoiselle. I'll follow your lead."

She wasn't at all flattered by the other's flair for words, though now was not the time to argue about it. It only took a wave of her hand, and all of the Gamorreans closest to the Tynnan Jedi were suddenly thrown from their feet, squealing in surprise.

"Make this quick," Alcyone quickly said.

With a wicked grin and a gleam of intense sadism filling his eyes, Eamic sprung forward with lightsaber hilt in hand. The Zeltron used the Force to augment his speed and from that he became a blur of pure fury. The purple saber blade hacked and dismembered Gammoreans as they tried to stop him. However they could not stop what they could not see.

Eamic came with a flash and severed the chains binding the small Jedi and instantly the Tynnan aided the attack. He didn't know who was freeing him, but did not become to suspicious. Retto assaulted all of his aggressors with the intent to incapacitate, not to kill. As he looked up to the hills the form of Alycone became visible. With a smile he nodded in her direction.

The guards were killed before any alarm could be sounded. Eamic leaped back to Alycone before Retto could discern his savior's identity. The Shade smiled at her and returned the saber to hits holster.

"Quick enough, eh?"

She only gave a nod in acknowledgment. Not necessarily towards the finalizing query given to her, but it did not matter at the moment. Alcyone beckoned the tynnan towards them.

"Come with us. There are better places to have a conversation than here," she said. The ruckus caused by the fighting would've alerted other Gamorreans in the area, if the alarm did not. It was only a matter of time 'til others arrived, if there were any others.

Retto quickly made his way to the pair, and upon reaching them he stared Eamic down with anger in his eyes. Without taking his eyes off of his enemy, the Jedi addressed Alycone.

"Why should I trade those captors for this one? I do not trust the man you are working with. He has caused too much death and des-"

"Oh shut it," Eamic interrupted before yawning lazily, "if I was going to kill you I would've done it already. Just come on. I'm kind of needing your help and I take it that the Tae here is planning on helping you out. Either stay here and rot or come with us. Besides, what's the fun in killing you? I rather like you chasing me about."

Retto scoffed and looked at Alcyone,

"Lead the way, I will follow but I am weak and cannot move very fast at the moment."

Alcyone nodded. "If you dislike my companion, just treat him as air."

It was a little bit of a Taen idiom, but it really meant to ignore the Shade. Even if he was in better shape, Alcyone doesn't expect Retto to act violently towards herself or Eamic. From what others told her, it wasn't the Jedi way. She made her way back towards town, though the Shade's warning of hunters in search of them made the Tae weary.

Retto nodded and followed, while Eamic made a conscious effort to sprint far ahead to intercept any hidden enemies. It wasn't out of concern for his two companions' welfare, but he wasn't about to be blindsided twice in one night.

The small Jedi moved slowly, but the freedom had already begun to do wonders for his strength. Enjoying the company, yet staying vigilant, the Jedi spoke to the Taen female.

"So why did you come to save me? I have no quarrel with it, yet I have seen horrendous things happen under the ploy of good intentions. I know little of the Tae, nothing of you personally, and you are traveling with an enemy of the Jedi and myself. I make no insinuation or assumption of any malice on your part, but I must be cautious."

Alcyone sniffed at the comment, seeing the pointlessness of it all. "Even if you were being cautious, it won't do you much good seeing the state you are in."

She watched as the Shade left, presumably to scout ahead, before continuing. "I have a favor to ask you, actually. Seeing that I was the one who opted to find you in the first place, it is only natural that you do something for me, correct? It's not anything dangerous, mind you."

Her limited knowledge of the Jedi made this a bit of a stretch, but Alcyone had to get this Jedi on her side. It was crucial for why she was given leave from Tae'Sha in the first place.
