- Ilnyysh Qorlyi (or IlQor, which is easier to say for most species) is a fairly normal Gand. He has a hard, brown, chitinous exoskeleton and a rebreather to transform the poisonous oxygen into ammonia, which he can breathe. His compound eyes are silver. He doesn't really have a recognizable mouth, but he can still speak Basic by vibrating some of his chitin plates with a special organ. He usually dresses in traditional brown Jedi robes. He is 1.7 m (about 5'7" ft tall), and weighs 82 kg (about180 lbs).

IlQor, like all Gands can only breathe ammonia. Oxygen would be like acid to his lungs. He also has a chitinous natural exoskeleton that acts as armor. He is strong from his rigorous Jedi training, but due to his stiff armor, he is less flexible than an average human. He is very focused and has a great willpower, but he doesn't understand other species' cultures very much, which limits his charisma.

IlQor's greatest motivation is to do something heroic for the galaxy. In Gand culture, only the greatest heroes, the janwuine, get to refer to themselves in the first-person (using "I"), so it is also part of his goal to be able to do that. He has determined that the best way to do this is by fighting the Sith. IlQor is very focused on his goal. He will focus on becoming a hero, sometimes to the exclusion of everything else.
He also hates it when others disobey the rules/laws or cheat, like the Sith. He always tries to follow all the laws and rules, but if his enemy isn't playing fair, he will break them to the same extent that his enemy does. He will take every advantage to stop their law-breaking. He sees the Sith as the ultimate evil and wants to destroy them at all costs.
He has many odd personality quirks of the Gand species, like the Gand speech. He will only refer to himself in the third person, because to use "I" would imply that everybody should know his name, which they don't. Also like most Gand, he is very humble and will not admit or downplay his achievements. He does not understand other cultures very well, which somewhat inhibits him socially. He also does not like to relax and take leisure time, because that's time that he could be training to fight the Sith. -
IlQor was born on the world of Gand in the Outer Rim, near Wild Space. During his childhood, he never knew he was Force sensitive, but he got occasional glimpses into others' feelings. The feelings that he sensed gave him a sense of how dishonest people were around him. Even the children around him were cheating in their games and telling lies. He grew to loathe lying and breaking rules, and this feeling continued on into his life. This is why he hates the Sith; they are the ultimate rule-breakers and liars.
As a child, the elders noticed his sense of knowing the, and he was selected to be a findsman, or a shamanistic tracker that used rituals in the mist to find things with uncanny accuracy. Some theorize that this is because of Force sensitivity, which was the case with IlQor.
When he was about 13 years old, a Jedi returning from a mission on a nearby Exile world crash-landed near his village. The Jedi, only stayed a few days before being rescued, but he was important in IlQor's life for two reasons: first, he revealed IlQor's Force sensitivity to him. Before this, he knew he had special powers, but he didn't know he could use the Force, or even what the Force was. But perhaps more importantly, he inspired in IlQor an awe of the Jedi. This was his first exposure to the Jedi, and it made him dream to become a Jedi someday, instead of a findsman.
And that dream was fulfilled, when, at the age of 20, he left Gand to the Jedi temple at Spintir to train to be a Jedi Knight. It was a bit of hard transition because he knew almost nothing of how the Force worked, but he soon excelled in his Force abilities and lightsaber combat to become a Jedi Knight. -
Lightsaber Combat:
Because of his natural strength and aggressive tactics, IlQor uses the Djem So variation of Form V, which focuses on establishing a solid defense, then using powerful counterattacks to defeat the enemy. In particular he has a powerful overhead swing that is hard to resist against. He has trained to use two lightsabers, (called Jar'Kai) a full-size and a shoto (short one) to better defend against other lightsaber users, but usually against others, he only uses his one.
Force Abilities:
Because of his training as a child to be a findsmans IlQor's natural strength is in sensing using the Force. He can sense both physical objects and others' feelings. But besides this, he also has trained to increase his skill in physical manipulation of objects. He feels like this would help him most in his quest of becoming a hero fighting the Sith. His healing skill is very weak. Healing more than a cut or bruise takes a lot of concentration and energy. He is also not very good at mental manipulation.
Findsman Rituals:
As almost a parallel to his Force sensing ability, IlQor knows enough from his findsman training to perform a findsman ritual. Sensing the effects of the Force on the mists of the planet Gand, he can meditate for a few hours to find the general location of something. The time it takes and its inability to be conducted anywhere but Gand means that this is not a combat activity, however. And because he never finished his findsman training, he can only get a general location.
Wilderness Survival:
Growing up on a fairly wild world, IlQor knows how to survive. He is used to sleeping on hard, cold surfaces, and knows what plants are edible and aren't. -
