We shall overcome: Vardon and Hask are both interested in destroying the pirate base for different reasons. They need to work together but have a hard time overcoming their differences as a fight breaks out between them with Hask gaining the upper hand. They eventually unite as a hostile scouting party approaches. The weakened force sensitives fight off the scout party and retreat.
Get off my lawn!: The pirates are on their tracks and eventually find the two unlikely allies. They manage to defeat the attacking pirates and find themselves in a position to counter attack.
A handshake at the Elbe: Vardon and Hask attack the pirate base and are successful in the endeavour. Hask picks up a quickdraw and spares Vardon's life. Vardon escapes with some of the pirates' former captives aboard the Celtic. There was no handshake by the Elbe.
