DEMOLLY!

Jarek roared in his mind as he felt his sister's life force diminish in concert with the mercenary's wrist rocket, just as his lightsaber skewered the man's arm. The man rocketed up into the air and Jarek's saber went tumbling to the ground, however he quickly re-asserted his grip upon it with the force and called it back to his left hand, reigniting it in a reverse grip. Hatred welled up within him as blasterfire echoed from the shop down the street.

Focusing the force below him, Jarek immediately leapt into the air after the Mandalorian (@Darasuum) who had blown up his sister, hell bent on revenge. His reverse grip saber was held slightly above his head, the crimson blade jutting downwards and slightly angled forwards to cover his body from any blaster fire coming from above as he swiftly ascended upwards, ready to move in case the Mandalorian managed to aim and fire at him in the short time he had between his landing and Jarek's ascent. His right hand blade held at his side, angled away so he could adjust its bearing to interpose it between any blaster fire that may come from down the street, though those terrorists seemed to be occupied.

Twisting to the right in the air as he reached the rooftop level, Jarek would land 5 meters to the Mandalorians right, putting the hulking injured brute between himself and the cat man (@Ecclessey) who had taken to the rooftops down the street. Settling into a semi crouched stance, his left hand blade was held in front of his body, hilt at neck level and blade jutting down to cover his torso. Right hand blade held low, also angled downwards to cover across his legs, he glared murder at the injured mercenary, ready to defend himself if he turned to aim his blaster at him.

Sudden movement has a way of catching the eye and the Force warning him of incoming hostile intent was more than enough for him to react as soon as Shere opened the door. So while the spectacle with the street rat was still happening, it didn't monopolise his attention. He wasn't suddenly blind to anything else and deaf to the Force.

A large cat man with a blaster (Ecc) started to dash through the door and took time to aim at Eddard before firing - once at his shin and once at the groin. As soon as he saw the creature his lightsaber was moving, guided by the Force to let the point of the saber fall, catching the bolt to the leg and deflecting it down into the big toe of his right foot (Which caused him no pain or issue as that foot had been replaced years ago now) , while the high portion of the blade caught the second shot and bounced it further away into the ground.

There was an armoured man appearing after the cat-man at this point and Eddard was under no illusions they weren't together. Even as he was blocking the second shot from the cat man he was moving his body, pivoting smoothly on his right foot, to pull the left half of his body back so that only his right profile was facing the newcomer (Critas). The first shot to the centre of his neck whizzed by him as the centre of his neck was no longer occupying the same space as when the man fired. Pulling his lightsaber upwards slightly, he covered his right profile from the waist downward with the glowing red blade, catching the bolt to his pelvis easily.

The third shot was fired at his legs but while the man was pulling the trigger, while the cat man and the wounded other were flying through the air, he grasped the man's helmet with the Force and twisted it around. The third shot was fired on target but his blade was already in the perfect position and blocked the shot with ease - and the man would have been too focused on making three perfect shots to stop his helmet spin around and his allies were busy flying, so now the helmet would have spun round, robbing the man of all sight.

With the gunman on the ground now temporarily blind and with all the other enemies within his field of vision, Eddard would begin to back up, aiming for an alley on the other side of the street to edge backwards towards. He still had his senses in the Force outstretched and he was prepared to defend himself again but right now he was preparing his exit regardless.

Burkhart was moving to the west towards his comrades while on the roof but he kept his attention primarily focused on the Sith that had done damage to him. His blaster pistol was raised even as Jarek yelled, probably the dying sith's name before choosing to chase after the Morling that had caused the wounds on his dark sided cohort. Having both of his lightsabers back certainly was not ideal for the Morling, at least he would have to close the distance or try throwing the weapon like he had before if he wanted to harm the mandalorian.

The morling fired off a burst from his jetpack again so he moved horizontally towards the west the moment his feet had settled on the roof. This time he moved directly away from where Jarek would land giving him fifteen meters of breathing room. Shere was to the north giving him plenty of space to fire on the Sith now with no risk of hitting his fellow mandalorian, able to bisect the line of fire if necessary.

Burkhart fired three shots as the Sith gave chase and leapt up the side of the building. He would squeeze the trigger three times aiming for the dual wielding sith's chest stomach and then back up to chest, his last shot being squeezed off as the man lands on the roof. His blaster pistol had been already at the ready and would have no problem firing as the man moved through the air and land. As Jarek did so he was moving into the line of blaster bolts decreasing the time to react with each meter he potentially moved closer. The distance he leaped to attempt to gain revenge was impressionably far, over three meters. The human was five meters away from Burkhart's earlier landing point.

Shere had been too focused during his two-second flight to register that the he had successfully downed the Sith (@Nefieslab), but once he landed on the rooftop and turned around it was evident that the Force-user was out of the fight. Shere caught himself wanting to grin and relax now that they had taken out two Sith already, but he wasn't blind to the two ignited sabers across the street going after Burkhart either. With Burkhart firing off a burst from his jetpack and moving to the west, the Sith came in a clear line-of-sight for Shere without the possibility of Burkhart ending up between.

Aiming his pistol on the dual-wielding Sith (@Arclight), Shere fired twice at his legs. With the Sith focused on Burkhart it would be nigh impossible to deflect all of them. Thus, Shere hoped he would be able to successfully suppress any move the Sith could make to attack and keep it up until Dio (@Critas) arrived to deliver the finishing blow.

Dio watched the Sith (@Nef ) in his sights go down under the barrage of bolts from he and Shere. Although his shots had missed, it was due to Shere’s shots landing and Dio was all about the mission. It was not about the journey so much as the destination in this situation. Dio was not someone to leave potential enemies to possibly rally to join a battle later.

As a result, Dio rose from his partial cover at the door and activated his jetpack, heading towards the building to the northwest. He crossed the distance towards the form of the prone Sith until he had a clean shot at the prone man. From this angle he had a good shot at most of the prone form on the ground.

As he flew, he brought his Shriek-Hawk up to a high-ready and fired three shots, two into the torso and one to the head of the prone form. (@Nef ) “For Medriaas and Wyatt.” he said under his breath as he continued his jetpack flight to the top of the building to the North and upon landing took up a firing position on the final Sith. As Jarek rose up to meet the Mandalorian in combat, the warrior instead chose to flee, activating his jetpack to put distance between himself and the swiftly ascending Sith. Firing as his feet left the ground, the blaster bolt streaked towards Jarek, who barely had to move his left hand lightsaber, which was already positioned to defend his head and chest with ease, jutting downwards in a reverse grip to cover his head, chest, and abdomen. The bolt deflected off the saber and exploded harmlessly against the building in front of Jarek.

The second shot was fired midway through the Mandalorian’s flight as he sought to put distance between himself and Jarek, moving him more towards Jarek’s right. Jarek’s right hand saber was already held partially between himself and the Mandalorian who was now firing from Jarek’s right. Letting the blade dip slightly with his rise to cover his stomach, the second bolt bounced harmlessly into the now empty street.

As Jarek twisted to his right midair, coming in to land, the Mandalorian fired another shot at Jarek, once more aimed for his chest. Blade never having left its defensive position in front of his chest, it took little effort for Jarek in his twist to push forwards with the blade in a quick punching motion, a quick snap forwards and retraction not dissimilar to a short left-handed jab. Catching the blaster bolt on the blade, it would be deflected back towards the Mandalorian, who himself was just landing from his own jetpack assisted jump, having fired all his bolts during his flight.

The blaster bolt would cross the 20 meters between them quickly, and catch the bulky Mandalorian square in the chest, who would be unable to avoid his own fire as his feet came down onto the ground. The blaster bolt would explode on impact with his chestplate, searing the huge Mandalorian’s chest and melting the blasted armor and bodysuit into the skin, leaving a mess of melted metal, fabric, flesh, muscle, and bone. The force of the blast would push the Mandalorian back as well

His right hand blade continuing its dip as Jarek’s feet touched the ground, it would still come to rest held low and angled to cover across his legs. His defensive stance would be utilized to great effect as the cat-mando decided to join the fight, firing at Jarek’s legs from across the street. While the blaster bolts may have been coming from a somewhat different direction, they still ultimately came from the same direction as far as Jarek was concerned. In front of him. His right hand blade flicking out and upwards from its position in front of his legs, it would catch the cat-mando’s first blaster bolt, once more reflected with intent.

The blaster bolt would follow the previous one, zipping across the 20 meters between Jarek and big-mando, aimed once more for the rather large center of mass but aimed a bit lower, coming in towards the Mandalorians stomach. If he was un-rocked by the initial blast it would impact there, exploding against the armor and burning through it, causing a rather serious gut injury. If he was rocked back by the first blast it would impact relatively close to the first shot, piercing through the already damaged armor and exploding in his chest cavity, killing him instantly.

The cat-mando’s second shot would likewise be blocked as Jarek performed a downwards jab with his left hand blade, blocking it as the blade interposed itself between the bolt and his legs, sending it flying into the rooftop several meters in front of his feet. Finishing his upwards swipe with which he had deflected the fourth shot, his stance would be similar to how he had been standing before except opposite, his left hand blade jutting downwards from his reverse grip to cover his legs, and his right hand blade held close, around head height, both blades ready to move in defense against more incoming blaster fire.

  1. First blaster bolt is deflected easily, blade already held in position to deflect.
  2. Mandalorian is firing from Jarek’s right at this point, right hand blade already held defensively on that side and ready to defend, dips slightly to deflect second blaster bolt.
  3. Jarek is twisting to the right as the third shot is fired, blade in optimal position to offensively deflect the third blaster bolt.
  4. Jarek lands in the same stance that he did in the previous post, blades positioned to defend his core and legs.
  5. Fourth blaster bolt comes from across the street and down the lane, fired from roughly 35-45 meters away. Right hand blade already in position to deflect offensively.
  6. Fifth blaster bolt fired from the same position, left hand blade jabs downwards to successfully defend.

Notes: Pretty much all the blaster bolts in this round were fired at locations that Jarek was noted as already having his lightsabers in front of, one after another. Jarek was repeatedly stated as expecting fire and ready to move to defend. Burkhart was stated in the OOC to have initiated his attacks as he begins his jump.

The pain was almost beyond description but Eddard wasn't even going to bother trying.

The damned foot exploded again and his groin was... well the less said about it the better. He honestly didn't know what the damage was - he just knew it was a damned miracle he hadn't passed out yet. Although considering his situation he supposed it couldn't even count as a miracle really. He was hunched over on the ground with a blaster bolt to the groin ruining his concentration and everything.

It was hardly a Force-given blessing.

He rolled his eyes as the Mando moved away from cover - he could see the man's legs. Raising his head, Eddard followed the man with his gaze as he activated his jetpack and aimed his weapon at him.

"I'm not about to beg, you beskar-wearing karkwit. Pull the karking trigger, schutta for brains."

Didn't have to wait long.

And then there was blessed silence and relief as Eddard Thul-Drast died, to become part of the Force. He had regrets but he didn't dwell on them. Instead he simply went when death called him and suffered, and enjoyed, no more of life.

And I'm outie boys and girls!

This was not good. Big, muscled and full of rage did not keep him from getting possibly sliced up. It also did not help that his shots were having no affect on the close sith. He had batted aside the first two pistol bolts the Morling had fired and been able to aim his energy sword to have it return back into Burkhart's right pectoral. He reeled in pain, bringing his raised blaster pistol to his right slightly.'

Shere had also been firing at the dual wielding sith but from further away. Both of his shots were deflected leaving the sith unscathed for the time being but increasing the shots on Burkhart by one. Or more accurately, hitting the strill blaster bolt in his left hand, destroying it but at least taking the damage away from the Morling as he lept back again. The weapon Shere had been using was normally medium, but having traveled a longer distance than optimal it would be turned into a lighter damage. The down side was his blast pistol was now toast though his hand was luckily unscathed if not without offensive weaponry for a moment.

The distance between the sith and the Morling further increased by another ten meters. Before Burkhart landed he was already replacing his lost blaster with his trusty versatech cosmo wrench, which he had nicknamed Mahkey and held out in front of him defiantly. Its heft felt good in his hand and he knew he could defend against a lightsaber attack if necessary. The sith seem pretty intent on chasing after him for causing damage to his cohort.

Shere was impressed. Not in the Mandalorian way, mind you, but whenever his band of outlaws met a man who opposed them with a ferociousness that overplayed the desperation, Shere had always felt a certain kinship. This Sith had that same combination as he desperately pursued a jetpacking Burkhart.

Immediately, Shere activated his jetboots and flew towards them. Shouting "Stop this!" when he landed between the Sith and Burkhart, he put his pistol in the large pocket of his doctor's coat. "I already won more sabers than I can carry," it was a boast, pure and simple, but delivered with a deadpan look. "Take your dead and go." Now a grin appeared on the Cathar's face, "Leave the sabers behind."

There was an inkling of worry that if the Mandalorians didnt leave asap as well they wouldnt have time to get Burkhart the needed treatment before the inevitable chase sequence, or second act of their trip to the moon. Besides... Shere needed to recover his armor, too.

Diocletian was deep into the fog of war, his mind completely focused and combat reflexes working overtime. As he had landed on the roof and dropped into a crouch, he zeroed in on the Sith that was dueling with Burkhart. He was instantly struck with the inherent honor in the Sith, to enter a battle three on three, have that advantage dropped to three on one and still fight was a feat Mandalorians could appreciate. It certainly brought forth images of the name sake of Dio’s clan, the Honey Badger.

Feeling Shere jet from the rooftop beside him, Dio activated his jet pack and joined in soaring from one rooftop to the other. This would be the final assault, they would close on the Sith and end the fight one way or the other by force of arms. Midflight he raised his Shreik-Hawk to the high ready, sighting in the Sith for a final volley that might end the fight for good. Dio almost felt sad, this was a worthy foe who had fought with great tenacity, but this was a war after all. Just as Dio was about to squeeze the trigger, his feet hit the roof of the other building and he heard Shere call for a halt to the fight.

Dio lowered his Shreik-Hawk and looked at Shere, the boast from the Cathar making him smirk underneath his helmet. He started to raise his carbine once more and then thought better of it. Why not let this worthy opponent go. They had not wanted this fight in the first place. They had not started it but this was an opportunity to finish it with their side intact for the most part. Dio stood and kept his carbine at the low ready, regarding the Sith, waiting for his response. They were four combatants; scattering civilians and two dead lay in their wake. The next few heartbeats would determine how this battle ended.

To show his agreement with the armistice, Dio raised a fist across his chest in a salute to an honorable foe. It was a show of respect and it cost him nothing but Dio had honor to spite the news vid reports.

Jarek was outnumbered, but he had one of the Mandalorian's, the one who had blown up his sister on the run. He was fully prepared to fight tooth and nail until the bitter end, taking as many of his foes with him into death if it meant avenging his sister. And then it stopped. The Mandalorians jetted to the rooftop, the cat-mando shouting for an end to the fighting. Clarity pierced Jarek's mind as he spoke of taking his dead and leaving. He could still feel her. Barely, but she was alive. Glancing over to the alley where Demolly lay bleeding out. Glancing back to the Mandalorians, Jarek wasn't quite sure what to do, when one of them offered him a sort of salute. Nodding, Jarek deactivated his left hand saber, and hesitantly returned the salute. Awkwardly.

Wary of trusting the Mandalorian's but driven by the desire to save his sister, Jarek turned and ran for the edge of the rooftop, catapulting off the ledge with a force empowered jump. Slowing his descent as he came to a landing near the alleyway and rushing to her bleeding body, Jarek acted with hasty desperation. "I'm sorry." He apologized for what he was about to do. With two swift slashes he removed and cauterized the heavily bleeding arm and leg that were the main source of blood loss. Stripping her ruined armor from her chest, he set to work cauterizing any major bleeds that he could spot leaking. With her time extended, he knew he could get her to an Imperial base in time.

Glancing at her sabers, Jarek shook his head. She would likely kill him for this, but so long as she lived it would be worth it. Unclipping the remaining saber from her belt, he tossed both of her sabers into the street before cradling her body and setting off at a run. "Base Delta F293 this is Acolyte Ysirath. Encountered Solus terrorists on level 293 sub-block 18935. We have one dead and one critically wounded incoming. Home on my location for medical evac, i'm coming to you." His words carried by his comlink to the nearest Imperial base, who would be able to home in on his comlink and send a medical unit to meet him on his way. They would also likely send a squad to their last patrol location to recover the body of Eddard.
