In The Service of the Chancellor (Senate Guard Intro)

Jard Carrick walked forward in his blue Senate Guard armor. He was flanked by two Senate Guardsmen in their ceremonial uniforms. Today was the day he needed to give a speech. War was upon the Republic, a Senator had disappeared, there were wild accusations being thrown at the Chancellor and crime had increased in the undercity. As he approached the head of the unit, he looked back at everything he had done. In the RMC, he had defended the Chancellor in a very different way. Charging enemy positions, fighting house to house, in the cities, on the fields of battle. He remembered the colossul failures they had made. The deaths of so many senators in the last war, the attempt on Chancellor Mohatu's life, which also claimed the life of former Chancellor Alcor Bac. The Senate Guard had a tarnished record. But today, that would change. They were entering a new generation of Senate Guardsmen. With that thought, Jard took the podium. He removed his helmet, and his piercing blue eyes gazed ipon the men of the Senate Guard.

"Good evening." he said, voice echoing across the room. "Be seated." he ordered, before begining. He glanced at the the men of the Senate Guard, split into two sections. One was very uniform, a sea of Blue, and that side was on the right. Then there was the smaller group on the left. That was where the force users were seated, a motely collection of the best Force sensetives they could employ. Then he began to speak.

"I know in the past few years, we have had some major screw ups. As you all know, I am Jard Carrick, the Captain of the Guard. My job is to protect the Senate, Coruscant, and the Chancellor herself. Yours is to assist me in that goal." he took a breath before continuing. "Now, as I was saying. There have been some screw ups in recent years. No longer." he straightened up, speaking louder into the voice amp. "Today, a new Generation of Guardsmen replaces the old. We are among the most elite forces the republic has. Today, we begin a campaign that will crush the corruption of Coruscant. Today, we will ensure the safety of Chancellor Hoshiko, as well as the Senate." he sighed before continiung. "Before I move on, are there any questions or concerns?"

The silence was deafening. Elias resisted the urge to shift uncomfortably behind Captain Carrick as he mentioned the many failures of the Guard in the past few years. Unspoken was the fact that with the new war, there would be a lot more attempts on the lives of Senators as well as that of Chancellor Hoshiko herself. Also left unspoken was that it was their job to defend the Senate at all costs. If that meant giving their lives, that was what was expected. Eli himself had been to two funerals in the past week for fellow Guardsmen. Krath he hated being a part of the detail for those things so often, but it was expected of him, so he never voiced his complaints. He did hope this would be a brief speech. Even though the presently gathered accounted for only a portion of the Guard as a whole, he still felt uneasy at these things. They should be out doing their job instead of talking about it, in his opinion. And such gatherings Eli always feared would be the target of an attack to cripple their forces quickly and efficiently. As his eyes traveled about the room, focusing on every shadow nook and cranny to keep an eye out for assassins, Eli caught the eye of the guard on Carrick's other side, and knew that he had many of the same concerns. Hopefully this speech would be short, and hopefully there weren't any questions.

Mofo Nofo, A Midget green alien, Had came around behind the captain he wore his blue guardsman suit, and a Lightsaber on the belt, And Rifle on his back, And smoke bombs. He had been knew to the Position he was assigned, He felt comfortable but was unaware there was that much lost in the Group, Mofo been with a lot of people, Jedi, CARD, Exile from the Jedi, Then Joined the Jedi again, And now a Lenient in the Senate Guardsman committee and Inflation Specializations. He had a huge job to uphold for a young 20 year old Green Alien, and many did not know of Mofo Nofo. He listened Carefully and did not spoke, Usually he would speak, but did not choose to.
