Open to Jedi and Jedi aligned characters aware of Yavin IV

... yeah Crix wasn't sure what he had been expecting for a hidden Jedi Temple but a pyramid in the middle of a jungle on a forest moon in the back-end of nowhere? Well he wasn't gonna say it didn't fit a hell of a lot better than the old ruins of the temple on Coruscant that he remembered from back home. Hearing tales about how they existed in that space just kind of felt wrong to him.

Why would the Jedi care about massively high ceilings and stuff like that?

Nah, a temple in the middle of nowhere made of weathered stones suited the Jedi a whole lot better in Crix's humble opinion. Shifting the weight of his backpack, he did his best to ignore that he had basically five items he owned anymore. Just meant he had a leg up on the other Padawans when they first started right? No need to get used to going without much in the way of personal effects when you barely had enough to half-fill a backpack. Wandering into one of the large hanger spaces, he found it to be higher tech than outside but nothing too fancy still.

He rather liked it all told.

What he didn't particularly like was that anyone who was around looked kind of busy and he had no idea where he was supposed to go. Was there some kind of Jedi orientation or something?

He really hoped he hadn't accidentally walked in through the back door or something.

"H-Hey anyone around can give me a hand?"
he called out to the hanger at large, "Any idea where a Padawan needs to go first? Get some swish robes and what not?"

That he was doing this alone, without @Niobe Belladonna , @Penny Aldor , @Willa Kanz or @Riyocho Drew ? That hit hard and he made himself a promise to find them just as soon as he was able.

"Did you hear something?"

Nara slipped the headphones from her ears, brushing her hair aside as she knelt down next to her droid. He chirruped, nodding towards the rest of the hanger.

"Yeah, yeah, I know there was something. I mean was it anything important?"
she asked, rolling her eyes. She hoped it was just another ship arriving, or someone dropping off supplies, but it was never that simple. Now she'd have to leave the landing struts on her ship uncovered, with half the wiring hanging out. She stood up and brushed herself off, smearing more oil on her pants.

For the love of...

Stepping out from where her ship was parked, she peered through the others. Looking carefully. If it was a Master looking for some help, she could slip away easily. Pretend she hadn't heard anything. That always worked. Once she saw him, however, her shoulders sagged. Just a kid. A kid that looked pretty lost.

Guess that's my problem now.

With a sigh to herself, she stepped through the other ships and stood there, right in front of him.

"You look lost, kid. What're you here for again? You're a padawan?" she asked, looking him up and down. Teenager. Zabrak, or at least partly so. She hadn't seen him around before but honestly, that meant nothing these days. Whole Order was filled with people she didn't know.

"Who's your master? I thought they'd found the last of the evac shuttles?" she asked him, cocking her head to the side slightly. Surely they weren't letting random teens walk around the temple now.

Drastus had decided to go for a stroll on the grounds, he was a Padawan... with a dead Master. Did that make him a youngling again? He didn't know. And if it did, boy would he find his way back to Corellia, he would sooner die then watch another video of Skippy the Jedi Robot. Boy did his old Master love to show him those. Dressed in his casual clothes, black leatharis pants, black boots, white button up shirt (with the top three undone ofcourse), and his purple vest, he once more looked very out of place.

He whistled as he walked, hands stuffed in his pockets until he paused, aviator shades getting pulled down to get a better view. "Hello.." though he was still some ways off and he spoke mainly to himself at the sight of maybe two Padawans, he would slide the shades back up before walking over to the pair. Just looking at one raised his spirits and the other? Well, if the Zabrak was lost like him, maybe they could be friends.

Drastus, respect. He'd hear his old Master's voice echo in his head.

Yes Master. He thought, a slight smile forming on his lips as he joined the pair. With his back to the sun, he'd remove the shades and tuck them into the inner pocket of his vest. "Welcome to Yavin."

Drow had been hanging around in the hangar, finishing up a new paintjob on his Y-wing, replacing his yellow racing stripes and heat vent highlights with a much more subdued black paint. He had to say, he liked the way it had come out. But he didn't have long to admire because evidently, a new Padawan had come into the Temple. Remembering his own first day at the Temple and how overwhelmed and confused he'd been, Drow was happy to help.

He made his way to a storage locker in the hangar where he knew the Order kept some extra supplies; extra tools for ship repairs, camo gear for expeditions out into the jungle, and spare robes. Fortunately for Crix, there was indeed a spare robe in the locker that looked to be his size. The cloth of the robe was made from local algae here on Yavin IV, making it incredibly light and breathable. Drow folded it up and made his way over to Crix.

"Not sure how swish it is but we do have a robe for you. Wh-" Drow said, presenting the robe before cutting himself off. There was definitely something...familiar about this boy before him. An echo in the Force sounded off through his body. He recognized this boy's presence.

"You wouldn't have happened to have fought on Sullust, would you?" Drow asked, narrowing his eyes at Crix.

He looked lost? Well it was nice to know he wasn't going to be hiding anything from even the first Jedi he ran into... oh boy this was going to get touchy feely if he wasn't able to hide some of his emotions. Like seriously - how awkward would it be if they could all tell, immediately, that he was awkward? Kark... could they feel that he was already feeling awkward? Kark! They probably could!

Kark!

Quick - time to act like he knew what he was doing!

"Lost? Me? Nah I know exactly where I am."
he assured her with a wave of his hand, "I'm just... not sure... where to be... next?"

Kark that was part of the definition of being lost - this was going swimmingly already. Then came the dude with the cool-looking shades and Crix automatically made a note to ask him where he got them because they would look so good on him. He grinned to the other man.

"Hey thanks - it's pretty cool but a bit hot. How do you guys deal with the humidity here? Especially with hair!"

Score one point for spikes!

Oh and here came someone else with robes? This place wasn't turning out half bad when it came to people being helpful. He guessed the rumours about the Jedi being the White Hats of the Force Slingers was true - Nice Guys so far for sure. Of course the newcomer had to ruin it by mentioning Sullust.

Almost immediately the memory came back, right to the forefront of his mind, and he was suddenly back there. Back in the vent he had first crawled through, cramped (so tightly enclosed and with no way out, no air) and with the heat of lava at his toes. His right hand began to shake and he swallowed thickly, swallowing bile that had risen up unbidden.

He forced it away and forced the smile back into place as he reached out to accept the robes.

"I didn't go to fight."

And that was all he was inclined to say on the matter as well.

A ship had arrived. The sensors of Hannibal's yacht had picked it up on the approach and Lee had let him know over the comms. He'd been expecting this particular ship, but more importantly its passenger. Hannibal's smirk asserted itself on his face and he stood from the workbench in his office, slipped on his cloak, and headed out to where the ship had landed.

The Jedi Councilor- a title he still had to remind himself of sometimes- stepped into the hangar complex, black boots softly click-clacking on the metal floor tiles. The green cloak he wore trailed in the air behind him overtop the simple black tunic, sleeves rolled up to bare fractal lightning scars through a myriad of colourful tattoos and tucked into a wide waist utility belt where the purified blade of Sol Puara hung on a clip. His trousers were similarly simple, high waisted and cut for easy movement, themselves tucked into light and durable black leather boots. A take on a classic look from the era of Luke Skywalker. For once he had the silhouette of a Jedi, the bright purples and yellows left behind today on his ship and across his skin.

But he was still Hannibal, of course.

"Yo! Long time no see, kid," he greeted, walking up to the group of other young Jedi and Crix himself with that characteristic smirk on his face. "How's tricks?"

Nara couldn't help but smirk at his response.

"Yeah, that's usually the definition of 'lost,'" she replied, stepping back for a second as the others arrived. First, another younger-seeming guy arrived with a pair of flashy shades. A little over-the-top, in her own opinion, but she'd never really had a fashion sense beyond 'more coat is more better' so what did she know? Then came Drow, who she did recognise from helping her set up her clinic. She gave a wave, before pulling her face at the cloak.

I'm going to burn all of those algae-cloaks one day, when nobody is looking.

However, Drow then brought up Sullust, which instantly brought the whole room down into a glacial frost. One didn't need to reach out to the kid with the Force to understand what he was feeling. It was all in the movement and the tense smile. Oh dear.

She waited until Master Hannibal had made himself known, asking him how he was and how things had been. Arrived just in time, in her estimation.

"He seems a little lost, Master Hannibal. I'm guessing the first place he should go is to a dorm room to put his things away, and then to eat something. I recommend some kind of cake, just to start with," Nara added, looking over Crix a little more. "That's if he's here to be trained?" she asked, hoping for an answer from either of them.

"Councilor Grayza," Drow greeted the other Sullust survivor, making sure to address him by his newly earned title. He returned Nara's wave - he had to remember to ask her how the clinic was going - before his face fell when he saw Crix's reaction to Sullust. He had forgotten not everyone had the experience he had. Not everyone had seen battles before, had experienced loss, had experienced defeat like that on Sullust.

"I didn't mean anything by it, kid." Drow said, putting a good-natured hand on Crix's shoulder. Then Dara mentioned something about Crix getting settled and eating, to which Drow nodded in agreement.

"Just stay away from the cakes they have in the display case. I made that mistake my first day. I don't think those things have been changed out since the Rebel Alliance posted up on this moon!" Drow joked, trying to lighten the mood.

At the mention of Sullust, Drast had a very visible wince. "Yeah.. that's gonna be a foul, from me." His hand would pat Crix on the back. "How about we avoid the 'S' word and the 'Ak' word, yeah? Yeah." There was a slight glance over of the other younger Jedi he assumed were teens.

His gaze would drift from Nara to the algae cloak and back, an obvious disdain for the garment. "Oh nice, they found you one." He said with a plastered on grin. "Unfortunately, mine died a horrific death shortly after I received it."

Giving the Zabrak another pat on the back "I'll uhh, lead you to the dorms." He said before pausing at the arrival of the Councilor. They always did this. Showing up unexpected and he always felt.. overdressed? Underdressed? Maybe just in the wrong attire? Anyways, that plastered on grin would return "Councilor." he'd say curtly, having no real idea who the man was without his bright purples and yellows and missing Drow's use of the name. "I can let you catch up with your friend, the Councillor. I'll be around if you want me to show ya around..." there'd be a slight pause and gesture of the hand as he waited for Crix to introduce himself.

Crix honestly was relieved when Hannibal showed up, the panic attack had been starting to ramp up and the way his gut twisted at the presence of the powerful Jedi did a lot to help break him from the spiral down that particular rabbit hole. He took a shaky little breath and held it for a few seconds, an exercise he had found on the holonet when searching for some self-help techniques. Wasn't like the Jedi got free therapy or anything.

All the touching though?

He flinched slightly with every touch.

Problem was that he could tell they all meant well but he was jumpy as hell normally. After almost being sent spiraling into a panic attack? He probably would have run off if it hadn't been for Hans and the girl (Nara) acting so calm and collected. They helped and so did the jokes about the robes. He cleared his throat a little bit and made a joke of his own.

"Going to guess they don't come in black? It's a very slimming colour, you know?"

He stared back at Hannibal for a moment, tilting his head to the side slightly as he matched it with a grin of his own.

"Hardly recognize you out of your pajamas."
he joked back, not aware that he was mocking a member of the Jedi Council before turning to the rest of the group and waving slightly, "Name's Crix by the way."

No way he was giving out his last name... old habbits died hard. Of course it did give him a chance to catch the guy with the shades (Drastus) calling Hannibal a councilor... he was honestly going to need a few minutes to process the very idea of that actually.

"Oh they come in black. But I prefer green," the Jedi Councilor replied with a wink while Crix's brain was still processing what came in through his ears and eyes. Hannibal also caught the flinching. That was a worrying detail, but not unreasonable with what had happened. Maybe he'd recommend his therapist. He greeted the others with a lazy wave.

"Drow, Drastus. Not gettin' into any trouble lately, are you?"
he asked, though he was clearly joking just based on the tone. Hannibal had never been much of an authority figure for the most part, all things considered. Didn't like throwing his weight around that way, just not self-righteous enough for it.

A subtle ripple, and in the background of the Force he radiated a sense of peace. Almost like a breeze followed just behind him into the room, bringing with it the scents of wildflowers and trees and warm sunlight.
"C'mon, give the new guy some space. He's taken quite a long trip to get here from what I've heard." Hannibal gave Crix a knowing look. He did need some space, and some time to process. Cake was also a good idea.

"He's here to learn, yeah. I'll be taking him as my Padawan," he answered in Nara's direction, turning to look at her. He grinned a little wider. "Officially, I mean. No spoilers now, Nara." He threw her a wink. She knew what he meant.

Hannibal half turned away from the group and waved a tattoo-covered hand to beckon Crix.
"You've got your stuff, right? I already set up a room for you."

What the hell was with this Hans guy?

Like seriously - this was the guy he'd seen wearing pajamas before and now he was acting like a calming brook in the middle of a raging stream or something? Crix knew he had a lot to learn about the Force but he wasn't entirely sure that one of the things he still had to learn was how to make a personality do a 180 degree turn in, like, half a second.

Did they take classes for that or what?

He coughed a little bit and looked to the side when Hans fixed him with a Look... and he'd had enough parental figures giving him meaningful Looks to know that he had probably best behave himself. Chatting kark about the guy who was apparently a member of the council was probably something to earn himself a stern Look.

"Yeah I'm going to be his Paddylong thing or whatever you call it."
he confirmed, "Guess I better, get a move on?"

He asked the last bit as a question because he had virtually no idea what was going on at this point. Was this what being a Jedi was going to be like? Bouncing around from one confusing thing to another until suddenly it was beam saber fight time? He really hoped not. He shrugged once.

"I'm wearing what I own."
he admitted to Hannibal, "Not got anything else."

His apartment had been exploded... then he'd run off to Corellia... then run away with Talak... then Sullust... and now Yavin. Didn't really have a lot of spare time to do clothes shopping or whatever.

"Well met, Crix. Names Drastus." Despite how cool and laid back this Coucillor was, as long as the man didn't know his name, all would be fine. Removing the pair of shades from his inner vest pocket and pulling them on with a smile, there was a slight pause when Hans spoke. "Trouble?" how the hell did he know? "I actively avoid trouble in all forms, Councillor." he said with that same plastered on smile. He would then back up, deeper into the hangar. "Well, Crix, Drow, Nara, I'll see you all around." he said with an aire of confidence accompanied with a two finger salute "Councillor."

He could feel two disappointed gazes resting on him. One from each Master. Boy, did he have a lot to learn. At least he learned on thing. Nara. So she did have a pretty name. Whistling, a tune, he'd depart unless otherwise stopped.

Nara whistled low as soon as Hannibal confirmed that Crix was a padawan. His padawan to be exact. It was all in jest though. The poor kid would do alright with Hannibal as his master. She most definitely did know what Hans meant by 'spoilers.'

His poor, poor muscles. RIP Crix.

"Well, I'm now not allowed to say anything else, on pain of being lectured. I guess I better leave you in Master Hannibal's very capable care." She raised her eyebrows at the both of them, with a smirk across her face. "Uh, just, y'know, keep your knees high and uh... try and focus on something positive," she quickly whispered to Crix as she moved past him. "And if you need help, you can ask anyone."

"Try not to break him Master!"
she called out as she pulled the headphones back over her ears, turning her attention back towards her ship. There were still some couplings that needed to be dealt with. She stepped away, boots scuffing on the floor, whistling along tunelessly to some hardcore Shaddaa-rap.

"Good luck out there kid!" Drow said, trusting that Hannibal would be more than capable hands to be in. He wished the Councilor had been there to take him in when he'd made it to this very Temple for the first time. As people began to go their own ways, Drow decided to take another look at his Y-Wing.
