What if the points didn't give you anything, but instead made you promotable. For instance, if you get 1,000 points, you're eligible for promotion to Bloodletter. It doesn't mean you will get the promotion, but it means the clan leader or clan lieutenant can review your 'record' and see if you are truly ready. Just a thought.

I like that idea Vencu, the points don't ENSURE promotion but make them available if Clan leaders feel you are ready. However I still stand on my opinion that informal ranks for combat situations should be implemented to create more structure inside battles, with leaders appointed by the clan head so there is no confusion. We don't want to become like the Crusaders did and nearly fall to pieces because they couldn't recognize who was a leader and who wasn't, evolve prematurely into the Neo-Crusader era.

I like the sound of that. It gives a reward for participants, and it gives some leeway for player recommendations and things like that. Yeah, we should definitely get to discussing this and see if we can come up with something more solid, then implement it.

Combine it with the Sigils or blood stripes. That's an existing system and the combination would be great for all clans. Transparency to see who's up for promotion and the like.

If you created a more rigid rank structure within the clan to go along with this idea, you could have it where each rank has only so many open slots at any given time. That way the clan leader or clan lieutenant must review the record of each person who is eligible for promotion and they may have to choose one over another. It's competitive, I know, but say one member reaches 1,000 points AND has a blood stripe. The others that are eligible only have the 1,000 points and that's it. The one with more merit gets the promotion and the other members have to keep working hard to gain more merit and stand out among their vode. It encourages people to give 110%, because they know that the bare minimum may not be enough.

I'm actually warming up to the idea of stats from reading what everyone's opinion on it is. And if we're being fair everyone here is a solid enough RPer to not abuse the stat system, so maybe Nevermore hit it right the first and I didn't see it...

Either way I'm liking the direction we're going in.

I'll see if I can get a more solidified system going, then. I'll either post the new concept here or in another thread.

What about people who have already done a lot of Fett Prestige-worthy things? Would they get credit for it or does everyone start at square one?

Well if they're still active in Clan Fett and can supply meritorious threads or activities that they've participated in, I wouldn't have a problem with starting them off at a higher spot.
