I was typing away in an RP earlier today and I had the magnificent Idea to host a Deathmatch/Deathrace with my criminal character, Karlo Daal. Karlo will be the event overseer as well as the bet collector. Contestants and Spectators welcome from all backgrounds, so long as you don't try to stop the event.
The Death Race will be an (almost) no rules speeder bike race across the Dune Sea and rocky desert of Tatooine. It will play out like a PVP, except on speeders. You will be allowed to soup up your ride however you like as well as bring whatever you want along with you, but keep in mind, the more stuff you bring, the slower you go and the harder it is to steer your bike. TWO RULES: blasters must be set to stun and lightsabers are banned. This doesn't mean you won't die as you can still die if you get run over, shot too much, crash, get eaten by something etc. The blasters are to be set to stun solely for the purpose of extending the fights and giving someone the chance of surviving if attacked as I'd feel bad if i caused the death of a character at the beginning of the NTL (Ironic huh?). Lightsabers are outright banned because they trump most every other weapon that could be used here. They are to be replaced with vibroswords. I plan this to be an open thread where spectators can jump in and comment on the action. We can decide the total number of PC racers here (if anyone is interested, of course) The prize will be 50,000 credits (half of admission revenues), a solid gold trophy, fame spanning the Galactic underworld, and a brand new speeder bike.
The Deathmatch will be a (almost) no holds barred, Mortal Kombat Style fighting tournament where the opponent may be killed at the end of a match or Spared depending on the Crowd's and the Overseer's (Karlo) decision. This can be either a 1v1 tournament, or a team tournament, or even a free for all. Whatever you all think would be the most fun. You bring your characters' weapons, armor, and skills into the tourney. All weapons except for Light sabers are welcome. If you use lightsabers, you will be provided with a replacement vibrosword because lightsabers give a totally unfair advantage....and Karlo hates force users. Weapons are to be set to stun and armors light-moderate protection, so that the fate of a character can be decided in the end. If the loser fought well, they'll likely be set free. BUT, if they were cheaters, cowards, or generally dishonorable at any point, they'll probably be executed. The prize for this competition will be a 50,000 credits (half of the admissions revenues) as well as a gold trophy made in your likeness, Galactic Underworld fame, and a golden vibrosword or blaster pistol with your name and the words: Arena Champion inscribed on its side.
All of this is subject to change, and I'd be happy to take suggestions. If you're interested, please say so as I really want this to happen!
