[Interest Check] Hydra/UmbrellaCorp-like Faction

So I'm thinking of making an indie faction inspired by Project SALIGIA last timeline (a series of illegal experimentations, spy network, and corporate connections). Think Hydra meets Umbrella Corp. The group will be involved in illegal experiments (biological and technological), corruption, sabotage, assassination, and other less-than-legal activities. It's less Exchange-like and more Czerka-like in regards to illegal activities. In fact (with permission from Norb), this group has origins of hailing as once one of the shadier branches of Czerka before it broke away. While I'm thinking of using the name MantiCorp for the group's front company, I haven't decided on an official name for the group so name suggestions welcome.

Any and all Indies welcome. Czerka peeps not wanting to join the Republic? We got room for you. ;)

I'm definitely interested. I'm making a character that would fit in right now, and I plan on getting rid of one of my current ones in the near future.

I'd suggest Viden Enterprises as a name simply because it's something I've established but not really expanded on too much. I think it'd be a perfect time, though, to add it into the continuity.

For a little background on it, Viden Scientific Limited, as it was originally called, was a subsidiary of the Czerka Corporation founded by Andron Viden. The company later split though, on the directive of Andron Viden who disagreed with Czerka's shady experiments. The newly christened Viden Enterprises formed its own weapons manufacturing base to compete with Czerka, notably along the fringe worlds and the border of Republic and Sith space.

The company become increasingly at odds with the Republic as it sold its weapons not only to Republic markets, but also Sith, slaver, and Hutt markets. The Sith, in particular, were favored customers of Andron Viden, who admired them as the 'only civilized force in the Outer Rim'. However, their partnership with the Sith reached new heights upon the death of Andron Viden and the ascendance of his son, Dr. Alkali Viden (who was secretly trained as a Sith Lord).

Under Alkali, the weapons trade, which never really reached the heights of Czerka, took back seat to, ironically, the things that Andron wanted to get away from: illegal experimentation and less-than-savory scientific exploits. The Sith approved and backed this immensely.

To enforce his trade, Viden formed a 'Mercenary Corps', which became more like an army than anything. He had political ambitions as well, forming alliances and secretly engaging in experiments in hopes of creating an army of cyborgs to commit a coup against the Sith government. However, this backfired, as his Sith allies turned on him and had him assassinated. The power vacuum left behind by Dr. Viden was quickly filled by acting CEO Erich Xano, a stagnant and largely ineffective bureaucrat.

Dr. Viden's political exploits and the extent of his Sith alliance and ambitions were largely unknown to the majority of Viden Enterprises, save for high-tier executives of the corporation such as Erich Xano.

As of now, it looks as if Xano will be replaced, thus it is up to the next executive to decide what direction the company will go, using the secrets and weapons at Viden Enterprises' disposal.

Edit: I didn't have enough people that showed interest so I'd rather this get enough for approval

Yeah we need to do missions and that means combat type charters

When Jason was part of Czerka he did a mission to clear a kind of Zombie out break. All the witness are dead, all the researchers are dead and we recovered the data. Could be something the Cable could look in to.

Combat types help, but others can find ways to get involved too.

yes true but combat is needed for what the facstion is trying to do. Though by combat I don't mean just bad ass solders, I mean people who can go in to the field. A scientist, engineer, Spy hell even a diplomat type works.
