I have recently become interested in forming a faction similar to the Imperial Knights of the Fel Empire or the Knights of Zakuul, which (let's be honest) are rather similar.
In essence, it would likely follow that "knights following their king" idea. Wheras the Jedi see the Force as a companion to follow, and the Sith see it as a weapon to control, the knights see it as a gift for following an ideal. That isn't to say they aren't susceptible to the light or dark side. They most certainly are. So by this, they are mostly light leaning but they can fall to their dark should their leader do so.
The faction itself would likely be one long past its glory days, to suit its beginning phase. As we know, the Zakuul in Fallen Empire was the best in the galaxy. Here, it would look more like Spain in the 19th Century. We'll see if they can turn it around!
Anyhoo, this is just a thought. If I do have some people interested, I would most certainly love to expand upon it. Toodles!
