Well, i'm going to try my best to get this started.
Hello, i'm TriumphofMight (i am very accepting of any amalgamation the gel in my cranium can recognize as a shortening of the name.) and this is literally my first roleplaying website. Never done a forum based roleplay before, but i have done chatbased, and real life roleplays with some friends from my school. I know quite a bit about the lore of Star Wars, but nothing compared to the massive knowledge base that's out there. My knowledge stretches from the movies, to the kotor games, taking a pit stop on the battlefront series, and coming to a screeching halt at the expanded universe books. (the series about Han Solo's jedi kids.).
Fingers crossed that i do actually stick with this site, and stay active. From what i've seen so far of the community this seems like a really great place to do this sort of thing with some really interesting personalities to boot.
Now on to my first question (Brace yourselves, your about to get blasted with the full power of the dumb side of the force!):
I've noticed with some peoples characters they seem to want to start at the bottom rung of whatever they are creating. Padawans, acolytes, new stormtroopers, and the like. Is that a trend, or a mandatory part of character creation? I guess a simpler version of my question would be this: If i make, for example, a jedi or sith, do i have to make them the fresh faced new guy?
P.S: I'm already scouring the site for any other information that's necessary for this, and i've conceptualized my first character. Can't wait to get started and delve into what i hope will be a lasting experience.
