Ideas:
Sith turned Sith sympathizer
Born on planet ___ as a slave, soon the slaves turned on one another and the other killed the higher class slaves (Rwandan genocide)
Loosing first his mentor, then loosing his apprentice, he left and worked on his own. Still considered a sith he sees himself more as a assassin and/or sympathizer
