When it comes to corruption, llanic historically leads the way in the sector of space it sits in. A major trade planet that also allows huge amounts of contraband and illegal goods to pass through, bribery and common source of income. In that kind of place power and influence are everything and a delicate balance must be maintained between chaos and order.
And that's where the Archers come in. Depending on who someone asks they're either well meaning benefactors or an infamous crime family. But what stands out about them is their earnest attempts at keeping things calm and in order in the streets and back alleys of the smuggler's haven. Their patriarch had always been fairly reasonable, but the most notable member in recent times has been his daughter. Rather than a wallflower Jade Archer had proven to be a beautiful but thorny thing, taking her own and the other families in new directions and expanding on certain programs and plans.
It came to a head when the planet formally joined the ISC and her influence lead to her becoming the planet's governor rather than her aging father who, at this point, preferred retirement. Governor Archer fully intends to turn the outer rim shadowport into a powerful and indispensable trading force for the Independent Systems Consortium.

Navigating the complicated criminal-political landscape of Llanic has taken a sharp-witted young woman and honed her silver tongue to a razor's edge. A strong will and relentless ambition drive Ms. Archer and she's not afraid to confront troublesome people or situations. Jade possesses an alarming propensity for picking out a person or thing's weak points and this has served her well in the political arena. When it comes to doing her work in what she considers the right way she has few scruples.
In terms of combat she's certainly no soldier, but she does possess some practiced self defense skills, all close range. One doesn't survive well on llanic without them. However, in a match with a dedicated fighter, the best she's likely to do is stall. After all she has people to do the fighting for her these days.
Jade Archer keeps her fingernails sharp and her mind too, a frequent reader who keeps up with galactic news and trends. With the click of fingers and the sharp clack of high heels she strides in and gets things done. Her namesake isn't for nothing, and on Llanic a saying has formed about her family.
