Jakin tossed the gel-like ball against the wall in the training room, its shape chaning whenever it bounced against something. If she concentrated really hard when she threw the ball, it would retain it's spherical shape or - twice - change into a cube. It was just so mindnumbingly boring at the Station inside of this "fun" ship.

Hm... Which strike does this make for Kyle? she wondered absentminedly. She was early for the "Training" she would recieve from him, her "Master". A tight braid hung from the right side of her face, parted away from the rest of her hair. It was one of the parts of her new uniform, including the boots, belt, dark brown Jedi cloak, and tunic she donned. Jakin missed her Piratical clothes, but they had fallen apart to rags soon after she arrived at the Station. Without her tricorn and a much needed use of the refresher, her hair was finally out of her brown eyes, which darted around the room suddenly as name in her voice broke into her head.

Amia Sal-Solo

She whispered the name aloud over and over again, wondering who this woman the name belonged to was.

*Kyle was far from letting Jakin have fun. He himself was going through an ordeal of trouble from the Council. They believed that even though the girl was talented and would easily become a Jedi, her background was so odd and troubling that they would keep an eye on her. He, too, knew that she would not be a Jedi for long, but she would do good. It was in her nature to. But, her lifestyle was a mold in her mind that was so easily changed.

Walking to the training chambers, he straightened out his shabby Master Robes before he pushed the set code on the number-pad next to the door as he stepped in. She had changed her looks so much, but still, he could feel that she was very reluctant about the changes though.*

"Who is this Amia Sal-Solo? Family? Anyways, why are you playing with a gel-ball? What about the training droids I told you about? You should have started to spar with those. Your 'sixth-sense' would have improved greatly."

*Naturally, Kyle would bow as Jedi tradition stated, but Jakin was different. He would see if she bowed first, before he would. And if she didn't, then he would just have to teach her.*

"Whatever, you still took forever to show up," Jakin practically hissed at him, throwing the ball once more. This time when she threw it however, it changed into a pyramid and stretched itself out becoming thinner and thinner. When she wanted it back so she could throw it again, it ricocheted around the room before slamming itself to her hand. Pretending not to notice this, the Padawan threw the ball again casually and continued to speak.

"Miss Sal-Solo isn't of any importantance to you, 'Master'. Or mine for that matter."

"Well, I can't help it that the Council is giving me such a hassle. I did the best I could in getting here as fast as I could. As my 'Padawan', I need you to get rid of that attitude, and catch the ball. Start trying to make it float and make it into shapes without hitting it against the wall. The first step to today's lesson is Force Manipulation."

*Kyle smirked when she had said Master. It just sounded funny coming from her. However, Sal-Solo here was a word that Jakin didn't like to talk about, and he could already sense that secrets lied around that name.*

Jakin struggled to keep the surprise from showing on her face. She had been making that stupid ball change shape? She put the ball into a pocket inside her robes and stood to look at Kyle.

"And pray tell what exactly is Force Manipulation, mate?"

"Force Manipulation is just how it sounds. You manipulate things through the Force. Now, take out the gel ball, and try to follow along and mimick me."

*Kyle revealed that he, too, had a gel ball in his pocket, and slowly levitated it from his palm and kept it at a steady level. Then, he explained.*

"Concentrate on pushing the ball up into the air with your 'sixth sense', and it will do so. However, it isn't as easy as you think."

Jakin took out the ball and placed it in her palm. She willed it up silently, and it quivered in her hand. She closed her eyes, wanting purely to succeed at this task and opened her eyes. The ball had stopped moving, and she sighed, frustrated.

She closed her fist around the ball, angerily, only to find that it wasn't there. Above her closed fist, the ball was hovering a foot in the air. Jakin slowly opened her hand and moved it about, the ball staying in its position. She moved her hand up slightly and the ball rose even higher. Smiling excitedly, she lowered her hand and the ball returned to her. The smile soon disappeared as she felt a wave of fatigue sweep over her, and her knees buckled. She felt... weak.

*Kyle instinctively caught her from falling, as he helped her get back up on her feet. So, it seems as though she had not practiced using the Force, only knowing that it was there and used it sparingly as Jedi Hopefuls usually did. If that was the case, then she would need time and meditation to increase her endurance in using the Force.*

"Very good! Most people don't do that on their first try. Now, this may seem odd, but I want you to get into that cross-legged meditation and just close your eyes and relax. Don't concentrate on much, and let your mind go. Then you'll feel your energy come back to you."

The Padawan nodded her head, not speaking and slowly lowered herself to the floor. As she entered the cross-legged position, she closed her eyes. Her hands dangled uselessly in her lap, but she felt more at peace at herself, at the world. Jakin remembered Kyle's next step: "To let her mind go" and did so.

She sank into what felt like nothingness and slowly her weariness faded away.

*Now, Kyle would initiate the second step of the plan.*

"Now, I want you to reach out with the Force through your mind, and try to levitate the gel ball again. Don't open your eyes though, just feel through the Force."

Jakin opened up her hand once more and felt the gel-like texture of the ball rolling around in it.

Damn you rise! she thought angerily at it.

She focused every ounce of the sixth sense she possessed - the Force - and the ball began to rise. She forced a mental hand to push the ball up, and when she opened her eyes it rose three feet above her head.

*Kyle felt her anger rise as the Dark Side instantly swept through the air, eminating from one certain spot.*

"Good, but not angerily. Try calmly. Don't let the anger get to you. Be patient. It is that doesn't come easily, but hard work will be paid off. Relax, and clear your thoughts. Try to do it again.*"

OOC: Gah! Sorry for forgetting!!

IC:

"Why does it matter if I do it in this manner? It works! I suppose it'll lead me to become a Sith and all those other nasty evil creatures?" Jakin retorted.

However, she stopped being angry and instead focused on the ball staying in place. She still felt weakened by this feat, but knew she would be stronger one day. The ball flew in circles around her; she could sense it even with her eyes closed. This sixth sense was amazing.

ooc: no problem. I forgot, too.

*Kyle would have show her what would happen if one was led to the Dark Side. Kyle could show her, but he would have to meditate later to purify his soul again.*

"That is one way to put it. The Force is a friend, not a tool. Tools are what the Sith conisder the Force, and they manipulate it to their desire. On the other hand, Jedi use it for the good of the galaxy, not manipulating the Force but rather letting the Force to it's own work. Jedi are guided by the Force, not the other way around. Now open your eyes and see the feat for yourself, before I show you what will happen if one falls to the Dark Side of the Force."

*Kyle mentally prepared himself for the feat, and already knew that this would take a toll on him*

Jakin opened her eyes, allowing the ball to fall into her hand. What was Kyle going to do? She didn't see how using your anger for the Force would be a bad thing, wouldn't it be good to use your anger as a power and get it out of you?

Still, it would be a good idea to listen to this man. She was his Padawan and a Jedi now. He knew what he was talking about.

"Remember, this is only for your eyes only. I don't practice this a lot, but all Masters learn something unique about the Force. It affects how they think, so, that is why what I am going to show you is strictly confidential. Now, you will see why the Jedi stress the powers of the Lightside over the Dark."

*Kyle knew this was out of the ordinary, but he was not training any ordinary Padawan. She had already experienced the real world, and that was why he was going to do what he did now. This would show her why it was futile to join the Darkside.

Closing his eyes for a moment, the warm air instantly turned into a cold wind. Kyle's eyes flashed open and instead of the comforting eyes he had a moment before, they were filled with a dark and chilling yellow pupil, which sent a very dark aura that crept throughout the room. Jakin might have not known that she was already sweating, but fear and anger was filled within the room. He reached out with his left hand and whispered raspily*

"Child, let me show you what happens when the Darkside takes over your mind."

*Kyle raised his the ball with his left hand as the median, and then closed the open hand quickly, as the gel ball was crushed into bits and pieces, spraying all over the room. Laughing darkly, Kyle released his thoughts as the Dark Side of the Force vanished as the Light Side of the Force shined brightly through the room. After a moment or so, the light vanished, and Kyle stood, warily looking at his student.*

"Do you understand now Jakin? The Dark Side of the Force only grants the user a certain moment of power, and the more they delve into the Dark Side, the more power they get, but at the cost of destroying their mind and body. The Light Side grants the user a certain calmness, and 'power' as well, but the ethics and mindset involved with that is that it does good. They can't use Light Sided powers, and we cannot use Dark Sided powers.

Relating all of this back to your practice with that gel ball, if you just want to force the ball to float, you are using the 'Dark Side' to power yourself. Rather, if you use the Light Side, then you will be patient, understanding the process, and sooner or later you will get it and can do it to a certain proficiency. You could say that the Dark Side is the 'easy path' and the Light Side is the 'hard path'. It always will reflect what you are willing to work for."

Inwardly sensing the ball was about to explode, Jakin threw her arm up to sheild her face and accidentally pushed the gel bits away from her. Feeling weakened, she looked at his Dark Side eyes and felt a shiver of fear run down her spine. Encountering one infested with this evilness wasn't something she intended on doing, but it was what was expected of her as a Jedi.

"I understand wholly and completely, Kyle. I will not walk this path; it just feels... Wrong.

What will we practice now?" she asked hopefully, not wanting to stay on this particular subject.

OOC: Sorry for the wait, couldn't get on.

*Kyle nodded. It seems like he had shown her what it was like to become evil, if not corrupt. Sitting down into a cross-legged position, he brushed his tunic before he closed his eyes to meditate. The Dark Side of the Force was brewing within him, and he needed time and focus to make it small again, and control it.

Meanwhile, he took out another gel ball and floated it towards Jakin before dropping it before her.*

"Practice again. Make it float, and then make it into shapes. This time, try with your eyes open.
