Biography:
Born to an independently-minded family of merchants and traders on Devaron, Jarrell Divos always had a curiosity about the galaxy to him. He and his family traveled the stars together until a tragic engine failure took their lives when he was 4 years old. He found himself alone, taken to an orphanage, until his force powers developed enough to grant him an audience with the Jedi.
After becoming their ward, Jarrell joined the other orphan younglings of the Jedi in rigorous study, meditation, and practice. To deal with the alienation and loneliness that emerged from his young trauma, he took to long periods of isolated meditation and study to find peace. Although the process of healing is a lifelong one, he finds that the Jedi are as much family to him as anyone else could be and is grateful to have met them.
As a Padawan, he was apprentice to a renowned healer within the Jedi Temple. Upon becoming a Knight, Jarrell has become a healer in his own right. He consistently advocates for the expansion of Jedi medical diplomacy over use-of-arms, pushing for the Jedi to be leaders that help the less fortunate develop systems of equitable medical and social advancement. However, his distance from the ongoing war against the Sith, and the tumultuous nature of the galaxy at large, has led him to recently volunteer his services for more sensitive, and more challenging, Jedi appointments.
Appearance:
He is a relatively tall, thin Devaronian. He has purplish-red skin, curling red horns, and naturally curly, dark-purple hair. His hair is braided into short dreadlocks on tap, and kept shaved along the side. While his Jedi training has a fitness component, and a consistent one, his focus on the less-physically and spiritually taxing objectives of the Jedi has left him relatively thin. On his frame, he wears a black overtunic and black pants, with chocolate brown boots, gloves, and a simple, matching robe.
Personality:
Jarrell hopes to embody the ideals of Jedi past and present. He is compassionate, diplomatic, and selfless - all traits that have been ingrained in him after years with the Jedi. However, while he loves the Jedi as his family, he is rather anxious and lonely beneath his surface level feelings. He feels most at ease during quiet moments of reading, with his near-silent droid companion. Because of this, and his rather sheltered experience in-general, he can be rather submissive and sometimes meek. Insults could roll off of him, and he is diplomatic to a fault at points; he lacks the decisive courage that has defined the most noble leaders of the Order.

Jarrell is the product of an overly-academic and studious Jedi Padawan-ship. While he took quickly to his blade as a spiritual extension of himself, and is skilled at sparring and fencing, he has had precious little experience in actual warfare, and the brutality and treacheries therein. He has little in the way of raw force (or physical) power, but has greater skill in his speciality of medicine and spiritual knowledge of the peace of the Light Side of the Force. He excels at healing, and is diplomatic to a fault. His knowledge of Jedi history, the Jedi code, and study of how the Force interacts with living beings serve him largely outside of combat. Within combat, he is rather untested; while Jarrell is slow to anger, he lacks decisiveness in hair-trigger situations, and is far too compromising in his own fighting style. Coupled with his overall lack of physical prowess, and weakness with the more combat and subterfuge-oriented uses of the Force. As a medical professional, he also believes strongly in the importance of autonomous decision-making, and is unlikely to use and weak at using his Force powers to persuade or trick others.
Skills:
Lightsaber Combat: Over a decade of study, practice, and meditation has made him a competent lightsaber combatant, especially in Form 2. He would spar regularly, consistently, with any who would visit the Temple, but he has not yet faced a truly life-or-death struggle yet, and is prone to indecision and weakness when challenged in actual combat.
Force Healing: He has focused his force training on using the force to understand the physical sources of pain, and use to force to alleviate, and sometimes fully heal, minor wounds. While he is not powerful enough in the force to heal major wounds and broken bones, his force connection can help heal, soothe, and reduce pain, while also serving as a diagnostic tool alongside others.
Counseling: Another aspect of his medical force training has been sensitivity to people’s feelings, and emotional health, with the force. He is keen to, and sensitive of, the feelings of others, especially those in his care.
Medical Training: Besides being able to use the mystical powers of the force to heal, Jarrell acted as a medical assistant for much of his career as a Padawan. Thus, he knows his way around the medical field relatively well, able to use bacta effectively and help diagnose/treat a number of different ailments. However, his work as a generalist, and largely outside the field of battle, has left him more familiar with basic treatments and ailments, rather than battlefield wound treatment or rare disease curing.
Jedi History: As a student, he took to the study of the Jedi past as an integral part of his own Jedi training. To this end, he has a great appreciation for and knowledge of Jedi architecture, Jedi political history, and past philosophies on how the two interact with the Force. While he does not know any more sensitive information (as he is not an archivist, librarian, Master, or otherwise privy), he does know more than the average knight his age may.
