APPEARANCE:

Jay is fairly tall with an athletic build, short and styled dark brown hair, and brilliant jewel like green eyes. With just the barest hints of a tan, his skin is nearly flawless. His features are often described as pretty but are becoming more fleshed out as he gets older. His choices in clothing are usually stylish, or at least what he considers to be such at a given time. Around his neck at all times are two kyber crystals on a leather cord.

Strengths:

- Technical Affinity: He has a great understanding of technology and picks up new skills with it quickly. He is working on understanding how to use, create, repair, and modify. He also has a basic capacity for slicing.

- Highly Intelligent: The young man scores high on IQ tests and can pick up new ideas and concepts easily. He excels at academics and at finding practical uses for what he learns.

- Sturdy Body: Jay has trained his body hard. His strength, flexibility, and endurance are on par with any athlete his age.

- Jedi Training: Having been part of the Jedi Order since he was an infant, he grew up with the teachings, and training of the Jedi.

Weaknesses:

- Teenager: He is a teenager, with all the idiosyncrasies and lack of experience that this brings.

- Living in the past: Jay was never able to truly move beyond Melo’ia’s death, it drives him to distraction, and guides many of his actions.

- Overconfident: He pushes himself harder than others, and never gives an inch. This makes him feel like there is nothing he can’t do, and he tends to value himself far too highly.

- Never going to be the best: His power with the force is strictly average. He is not particularly gifted with it, and as such, he will never be the equal to the truly powerful talents in the galaxy.

- Socially Awkward: Jaysen struggles in social settings to not put his foot in his mouth, and tends to speak his mind, especially in situations he shouldn’t. While he is working on it, it still causes him trouble time to time.

PERSONALITY:

Jay is a brilliant but haunted young man. He was never able to get over the violent death of his childhood friend Melo’ia, as such, Jay pushes himself hard. He constantly tries to outrun the specters that follow him. He has an affinity for technology and general academics. Jaysen spends his time constantly tinkering and learning. Loyal, overconfident, and highly capable, he is at odds with himself, as he is also shy, selfish, and at times clumsy. Jaysen struggles to truly open up to others.

BIOGRAPHY:

Nothing is truly known about where Jay was originally from, or who his parents were. All that is known is that as an infant he was brought in by a Jedi and raised in the order. It was where he learned to walk and talk and has shaped almost every idea he has ever had. From a young age he was competitive, and quickly found himself in competition with a young Mirialan girl named Melo’ia. They pushed each other to excel, and as they grew up were inseparable. The best of friends and the fiercest of rivals, they rarely did anything without the other…and as they began to enter puberty, they began to feel more for each other. They gathered kyber crystals together, and secretly swapped crystals as a sign of affection, each carrying the other’s.

Shortly after Jay’s twelfth life celebration, Melo’ia was tapped for a quick mission to the temple at Ajan Kloss. It was supposed to be a quick delivery, but she was there when it was attacked. Her body was found ripped apart, her crystal gathered and brought back to Jay. He felt his world shatter in that moment. Despair threatened to overwhelm him, and the masters pushed the boy through years of counseling. To keep his feet moving, he threw himself into his studies and training. He battled thoughts of vengeance, depression, despair, and hopelessness. But, with her gone, he was adamant to live enough for them both. Their two crystals hang from his neck at all times.

Now, he continues his training. One day he hopes to be strong enough to never allow a tragedy like this to happen again. But he still battles the feeling of loss, and emptiness inside, struggling to make new friends, or truly open up to others. It is hoped this will change with a master, and by fighting along side others. Until the day he can overcome it, he can simply keep doing.
