HI @Rimrald this is dice thread, to make a computer. Try and scavenge parts first

A thread about a group scavenging parts for Denise, on nar shadda, and building a hacking computer. The parts will come from other computers and terminals, taken from anything from pawn shops to old derelict ships. So the bank robbery can go off without a shot being fired (dice)

100: Critical success. -5 to police suspicion
81-99: Rousing success. Everything goes better than expected -1 to police suspicion
51-80: Success. Everything goes as planned
26-50: Barely a success. You succeed in your end goal but take some sort of negative in doing so +1 to police suspicion
11-25: Mild fail, fail with some minor consequence +1 to police suspicion
2-10: Major fail, fail with more serious consequence +1 to police suspicion and that needs to be re done
1: Critical fail. +5 to police suspicion and the thing may need to be restarted, as the computer will not work

IF the +10 is reached on police suspicion the place is raided and the thread has failed.
Also, Mandalorians will be informed, and a pvp thread is started. Though the character needs to be approved first.

Hey @Sabrina @Rimrald

Police suspicion limit at 10 is way too high imo - you would have to fail over and over again to the point where it's not much of a risk. I do like the mechanic though but I would like it to be a limit of 5 instead please!

Enjoy the added tension ;P

I'd say take the negative penalty off of 26-50 in that case, but threads already underway lol

@Nefieslab damn you, retrospectively making it harder.

All cool though

Alright guys, me and the staff have been looking over this thread and @Sabrina you've rolled for the exact same things 3 times in a roll - this has been found to be an instance of Roll Until You Win and this thread is to be considered void due to this abuse.

The two of you now have three options;
  1. Re-do this thread; Make sure you follow the rules properly this time and when you are rolling make sure you roll for different things each time. If you can't buy what you need from a shop, for example, try moving onto stealing one from their supply room or gunning the shopkeeper down and running for it or something. Do NOT try the same thing over and over again until it works as this removes any chance you may ultimately fail in the long run.
  2. This thread remains voided and you re-do it as a PvP thread instead; That way you can self-DM going to get the objective until opposition arrives. Then pvp is entered and if you win you gain what you were looking for but if you lose then you don't. Make sure to follow PvP rules to the letter when doing so.
  3. You abandon the plot; Not what I would recommend myself (I'd personally say just void this and have the search be the PvP thread instead) but is entirely up to you.

I apologize but I thought it best I tell you this now rather than let you continue and reject the plot on completion - this way you haven't done the third thread yet.

I was rolling to get a part, seeing it is integral to the computer, and the police bit was meant to be the method to stop me winning, by keep rolling.
Can I ask how I should have done that instead?

@Nefieslab

Try again in a different thread for starters.

If you just skip straight to the Open PvP? I'd recommend breaking into a store room known to have it in stock and take it that way. Following PvP rules of course.

If you want to do another dice thread? I already gave some examples in the previous post. It is not my job to tell you how to accomplish your thread goal, Sabrina, merely to point out that trying the same thing again and again is against the dice discipline rules.
