Jedi High Council
The Jedi High Council is the primary leadership body of the entire Jedi Order. At present, the High Council is seated on the Deep Core planet, Tython, following the events on Jedha. The Jedi Council of this era is composed of roughly twelve members at maximum capacity. Each member is elected from among the ranks of the Jedi Masters. The Jedi Council is led by the Grand Master, who is the recognized leader of the entire Jedi Order, and the Master of the Order, who is the elected leader of the Jedi Council itself. The Council sets the agenda for the entire Order, and its members are considered the prime examples of true Jedi: both in power and in wisdom.
The Jedi High Council's members hold the highest clearance among the Jedi of the Order. They alone are allowed to enter, or grant entrance, to the holocron vaults. They also provide (or deny) access to any ship in the Order's possession above the class of a personal starfighter or transport. This tightening of security was imposed after the Skyward Sword incident on Jedha. Members of the High Council also chaired the lower councils that governed the Order (i.e., the Council of First Knowledge) and dispensed judgement whenever a Jedi broke the tenants of the Order; this judgement could include simple reassignment, demotion, or, in the most extreme cases, exile.

Council of First Knowledge
The Council of First Knowledge was one of the four lower Jedi Councils and oversaw the preservation and teaching of knowledge in the Jedi Order. They determined what curriculum was taught across the various Jedi temples and academies in the galaxy, what was deemed forbidden to be taught, and largely determined the criteria for Knighthood. The Council was also responsible for assigning and undertaking missions to reclaim lost Jedi knowledge, or to secure and lock away any artifact known to be of Sith or Jedi Exile origin.
This Council was led by the Caretaker of First Knowledge, who also held a seat on the High Council, and was also based on Tython in the Spire of First Knowledge at the Jedi Temple. At any time, it was composed of five Jedi Masters, including the Caretaker, all of whom were regarded as some of the greatest scholarly minds in the Order. Each member had the authority to grant or deny access to restricted information in the Jedi Archives. They were also responsible for guarding the holocron vaults and overseeing the Jedi Shadow Program.
Members:
- Bruce Guleya (Caretaker of First Knowledge)
Council of Reconciliation
The Council of Reconciliation was composed of the Jedi Order's foremost diplomats and handled two very important tasks: conducting diplomacy with foreign powers, such as the Republic, and overseeing the intake of independent Force-sensitives and redeemed dark siders seeking admittance into the Order. Led by the Arbiter of the Order, a member of the High Council, this council was responsible for dispatching Jedi Knights and Masters to resolve diplomatic disputes and forging diplomatic ties between foreign governments and the Jedi Order.
The Council was also tasked with administering rigorous admittance tests to unconventional candidates seeking to join the Jedi Order, whether they be independent Force-sensitives trained outside the Order, or former dark siders who returned to the light. These tests were designed to weed out potential spies or those who did not possess the right frame of mind to join the Jedi Order. Like the Council of First Knowledge, it was composed of five members at maximum capacity.
Members:
- Fennex Zeerda (Arbiter of the Order)
Council of Mastery
The Council of Mastery is the most recent Jedi Council to be created and had the sole purpose of overseeing and administering the Trials of Mastery: a series of rigorous questions meant to determine a Jedi Knight's readiness to advance to the coveted rank of Jedi Master. Like the other lower Jedi Councils, this council was chaired by a member of the Jedi High Council, who served as its only permanent member. Its other four members were rotated from among the existing roster of Jedi Masters in the Order, as part of their duties as a Master in the Order.
Members:*
- Vacant (Chair)
Jedi Command
The Jedi Command, also known as the Council of Command, is the final lower-level Jedi Council. Led by the Battlemaster, a member of the Jedi High Council, and composed of five members as with the other lower-level Jedi Councils, Jedi Command oversees the militaristic aspects of the Jedi Order. These aspects include intelligence gathering, communications, and the managing of the Jedi war effort. Jedi Command also oversees the defense of the Jedi temples across the galaxy, and, thus, manages the Jedi Temple Guard Program.
