“Well Toph, looks like we get to find some of our friends a new home.” Arai said looking down at the creamy furred Hoojib walking at his side. The two stepped out from the chilled caverns of the Jedi enclave and met the bright warmth of Arbran, the primary star within the system. His deep red eyes took in the flourishing Arbran landscape as his lungs pumped with fresh and clean outdoor air. This relaxed him mentality, easing his nerves about being on his first real mission in over ten years. One he was determined to accomplish since it involved finding a new home for the Hoojibs, the native species on Arbra who we has become good friends with, especially Toph.
Ever since the Jedi reunited, the enclave has grown a lot in population and honestly, it was just not enough room for everyone. One of the six Hoojib clans that he and a fellow Jedi Padawan, Cotan Sar’andor, discovered a few years ago decided that it was simply too crowded. The spokesman for their clan even voiced the concerns to the Master Novan, who then informed the council and now here he was on a mission with two other Jedi to find suitable and safe home for the small clan of Hoojibs. Toph was not a part of the clan that wanted to leave but he wanted to come since Arai was going. The twenty-four year old Padawan never denied his friend the chance to venture out with him. It was more the Hoojib’s planet than the Jedi’s after all and Toph could probably find a new home for his kind better than any of the Jedi that were assigned to this mission.
“There is a lot of Jedi now,” Toph said, scurrying up Arai’s cream robes and sat on his shoulder, almost rubbing his nose against Arai’s nose. “Most of us don’t mind but Yil's clan liked it better when it was only a few of you.” It was true, Jedi came and went on Arbra and to the hoojib it was probably like mass breeding. “Compared to ten years ago, we still are few.” Arai said while looking around for the two other Jedi who would be accompanying him on this mission. He didn’t know how long it would take to find the Hoojib a new home.
They were on an exploration into the unknown regions of Arbran and like always, anything not unknown presents itself with a potential threat. But Arai was no longer the same kid that didn’t know how to survive in the wilderness by himself, though glad that he wasn't alone. He understood the importance and advantage of being prepared for what situation he might have to handle. That’s why on his back was a brown leather backpack carrying food, a brown cloak, a few glow rods, power rods for Toph, bacta patches, rope, comlink, datapad, and rebreather mask. With his lightsaber clipped to his brown belt, he felt prepared as necessary for this mission. Now he just waited for the arrival of his teammates.
