(OOC: If you want to join, send me a pm. I have a cold and feel miserable, so my characters will be miserable as well.)

@Riley Dee - If you want any-whom.

Place: The Swift (First)

Jade swayed as she struggled to walk down the hall. Night Eyes had passed on due to old age, the loyal creature. While she felt an empty spot in her heart, Jade didn't let it bother her.

What was bugging her now, was the lack of energy she'd been having, her force sight wavered before turning itself off. She found herself on her knees, shaking, fighting to stay awake.
A cough made her body tremble even more.

"Jade!" Rex rushed to her side, pulling the Jedi's arm across his shoulders, hoisting her up to her feet, and leaning her against the wall. He had seen how taxing her abilities could be, constantly depending on the force rather than sight. But not like this. This was different. He held the back of his hand against Jade's forehead. "Jeez, you're on fire, lady."

Jade panted, trying to focus on anything. Rex's voice wavered through the blackness.

A stab of the darkness jolted through her body, making her collapse to her knees, hands on her head. "No! GET OUT!" She managed to push it away, just before she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

What is happening?

"Alright, big tough Jedi." Rex bent down and scooped up Jade's frame in his arms. He carried her down The Swift's halls and set her gently down in her own cabin. Carefully, he pulled offer her shoes, slipping them down below her bunk. Then, he reached forward cautiously and unclasped her belt, sliding it out from beneath her. It was heavy with the wait of both lightsaber hilts... he picked one and unclasped it. Not knowing why (they were alone on the ship), Rex looked both ways to make sure no one was looking before turning the saber on. Like a boy, he gave the saber a couple of experimental waves and swings before accidentally cutting a segment of his vest clean off. He swore, turned the weapon off and returned it to its place on Jade's belt. That too, he slipped beneath her bunk. He kneeled to dab the sweat beading up on her forehead with his sleeve. "Alright, Jade, what do I do here?"

Jade stirred in her sleep, shivering with cold.

Echo, the owl hooted and gave Rex a first aid kit.

Echo dropped the kit ungracefully into the side of Rex's head. Clutching his ear in pain, he glared at the owl. Birds. I hate birds. He missed Night Eyes. Rex gave the owl a rude hand gesture before opening up the kit. There were a few anti-fever meds and a healthpack. He braced himself before slamming the healthpack into her thigh, the tiny needle injecting her with a chemical boost for her immune system and a small dose of adrenaline. Then he pulled the blanket up to her chin and checked her temperature one last time with the back of his hand before leaving the room.

Echo made a hissing/hooting sound in response.

After about two hours, Jade can back into wakefulness. Echo fluttered to her chest, hooting softly. "Don't stress yourself."
"What..happened?" Jade was confused.

That exact moment, the door to Jade's cabin powered open, and Rex walked in with a small tumbler of water and a damp cloth.
He frowned when he saw her. "No, no, no, no, no. You're not getting out of that bed." Rex set the water down on the utility trunk that served as her nightstand and took Jade my the shoulders, easing her back onto the pillow. "You scared me there for a minute, Jedi. What am I supposed to do if you put yourself into a coma?" Rex smiled. "Who would boss me around and keep me out of trouble?"

Jade panted. "What happened...The darkness!" She shot up again, shaking from the slightly lowering fever. She felt hot, then cold.
"The darkness is getting stronger again, the light...need to fight..." She felt herself lower back against the pillows, panting and sweating like crazy.

Echo trilled worriedly.

Practically tripping over his own legs, Rex dove to Jade's bedside and gave her shoulders a little shake. "Jade! Where do we go? What do we do?!"

Jade collapsed there in his hands.
Echo sounded off behind him.
Irritably, Rex said, "I know, I know!" and left the her quarters in a rush, swearing loudly as he accidentally clipped his shoulder on the powered door frame on his way out.

Sitting at The Swift's console, Rex took a deep breath in and composed himself. "Okay... Tython it is." He pulled up the coordinates on the ships graphical interface and punched them into the nav system. He prepped and primed the thrust calibration and moved the ship manually, peeling it away from their current orbit. Once the ship was free of Coruscant's gravitational pull, he flipped a toggle on the overhead console. The entire ship gave a gentle tremor before speeding off towards the Tython System.

"Hang in there, Jade."

By the time they got to Tython, Jade was paler than normal, muttering under her breath.
