Jedi Subfaction Interest Checks

Hey guys,

Trellheim here. The Council has recently been in talks as to how to revamp the GA military and the war effort as a whole. A couple ideas that have been tossed around are as such;

- Replacing the active GA military with a special operations unit, akin to SOLAG from the 4th timeline or some other kind of 'assault trooper' commando force.

- Implementing a Sector 13-esque intelligence agency, possibly under the already established NAIM.

- and an elite starfighter wing, basically Rogue Squadron expanded from a unit of 12 to around 72.

To preface any decisions we may or may not make we wanted to get the community at large's take on these ideas. Are these concepts appealing? If so, which and why? and if not, what would you like to see changed or added?

I'd totally be in on a starfighter squad. I've found it a pity that there isn't really a place for military pilot characters at this point. It'd be great if we could create one, maybe it will inspire the same in other factions, too, but even if there's no cross-faction interaction in this area (except if maybe someone gets shot down and has to escape from a planet or something), it'd be cool for a secondary character. With flight training, general interaction between the members of the squad, and a few missions, there could still be plenty of things to do.

I`d like to see all three implemented, as they all sound good and with a lot of RP potential. The assault troop squad, I think, should have their own armor design, as for the intelligence agency - not anyone should be allowed into it. Just things I`d like to see, although I believe you`ve already thought about them.

SOLAG and NAIM. My loins are afire with reference to these two possibilities. Joint missions and double-dipping chars come to mind. Danger, intrigue ...Bond. James Bond.

Not that my opinion would hold much weight (at least not yet), but as a new user the assault trooper/commando thing sounds especially appealing. Just thought y'all might want to know.

On the contrary, your opinion as a new user holds a massive amount of weight. Something like this is designed to generate interest in the Alliance part of the faction, especially from new users. :)

I have to agree with the general consensus thus far; all three sound like excellent ideas. Though I must say I'd be very, very interested in being a part of an intelligence agency/unit/whatever. Exciting stuff.

I already posted here, but I'll say it again: I think this a great idea and would definitely participate in these sub-groups if and when they will be activated. :)

Junior would most DEFINATLY join the intelligence agency. His mind put to that kinda use would put him in a seat of power, at least i would think so. It would also give some characters more freedom to move about as they wished amongst the system rather than only having missions do do etc. Though not that, that has ever really been a problem.
