So wold you be against an Indie Faction forming that is an enclave/academy for Jedi? Essentially a faction for the Jedi order? A friend of mine and I were wondering where all the instructors and non-militant Jedi were.

I'm also interested in this. Because one of my characters—a Republic pilot who found out he was Force-sensitive—is currently training as a Jedi, but he tends to agree more with the Order's philosophy over the Army's. I could see him joining the Order but refusing to go along with the Army. But if we have an official Indie Faction for the Jedi Order, then we'll have something to rally behind and organize missions and such, so that they're not just slacking in their temples.

There are a large amount of Jedi within the Army that align well with both. See my Jedi Master Tarnit for training - He struggled with the militancy of the Jedi for awhile, but has learned to stand with the Army due to the Order's inaction. IE - he is still primarily a teacher, but within the Army.

My Jedi is actually on official assignment form the Council to keep an eye on the Army. If anyone wants they could have their character in the Army tagging along with him or be part of likeminded people the the might have gathered.

My thought is more along the lines of the ramifications of what the Jedi Lord just did on Coruscant to the Dark Lord of the Sith. Those in the Army who still favor the Jedi Order are more likely to disavow the Army after that choice. I can't see the Council approving, despite their war with the dark side. It was an almost unprecedented step on an IC scale and there was backlash from Jedi within that thread itself.

I can easily see the Army and the Order becoming more separated after action like that. Plus, it would be cool to have an IC Jedi Council, and to explore how the Jedi Order proper is handling this war. Despite what everyone has said about the Jedi Order remaining sequestered in their temples, that hardly sounds like something they would do.

Even in Legends, when the Jedi Order didn't follow Revan into the Mandalorian Wars, they were still active and doing stuff within the galaxy. Just a thought to get the juices flowing.

All I'll say is put a hold on making an actual IC faction for the Order. Things will be changing soon ;)

Well... that's just mildly frustrating. Do you mean in the faction or on the site?

I follow a similar path with my Jedi Knight. He's part of the Army to make sure they don't "lose" the way. He wants to teach and guide, not throw down.
