The capital of Naboo was unlike any other city Amilthi had ever seen. It was, simply, unbelievably beautiful. The old town had a remarkable architectural without any of the sterile feel that often evoked, and there probably wasn't a single spot anywhere from which one couldn't see a tree. She had spent yesterday exploring Theed, taking in the wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, and this alone had been worth the trip. Amilthi had never been here, but wanted to visit for a while. Tatooine, where she lived these days, was connected to it on by a hyperspace route, but it still hadn't been a direct flight. It wasn't easy to find someone who went were you were going and who ready to take you aboard without expecting significant payment in the Outer Rim, even if being a pretty girl increased your chances. It had taken her two days in total, but she had managed to get by with what little money she had and avoid manipulating anyone's mind through the Force, though one could hardly say that she had even tried to refrain from manipulating them otherwise.

Now it was a late afternoon, but after the time lag from Mos Espa, it was really only noon to her. That wasn't even annoying, as the city was still beautiful at night, and mostly just as lively, and furthermore very safe. Amilthi was leisurely walking down a street that would lead her to a lake, at whose shore there was a café where she was supposed to meet someone. She was rather proud of herself for doing this. Writing to people and asking for a meeting when you had never spoken to them in person was not expected and often considered weird; sometimes creepy, though with her being a woman, that hardly applied. But she had done it anyway, and across half the galaxy, too.

Amilthi had no trouble finding the café and sat down outside in a wicker chair, allowing her to view the square and, behind it, the lake, which, despite being in the middle of a city, was amply surrounded by trees. Prompted by the waiter's inquiry after a minute, she ordered a hot chocolate and folded her hands in her lap, looking around expectantly, before having her attention attracted by a group of water fowl landing in the water near the shore of the lake.

The city of Theed was definitely beautiful, though to Thur'hars it was only architecturally. He much preferred natural settings, though it always came with it's possibility of unwanted side-effects. Though, luckily, the person who had written him for a meeting had requested that they meet nearby a lake. At the very least his mind would be even more awake and wary than the usual over-awareness he typically had once there. However, for the time being he walked Theed, awaiting the chance to see the rolling, grassy hills he had observed on the shuttle coming onto the planet.

After having to ask directions a couple times, he eventually made his way to a road that led towards the lake. He saw someone ahead of him in the distance and wondered if this was who he was to see, also wondering why the city seemed so packed except for a small stretch if this roadway. Making a deliberate choice to walk slower, his aware of his surroundings began to peak. He could pretty much smell the lake after only a few more seconds, which made him happy, but the person who had been walking ahead was out of sight.

The city seemed to become much less of a city as Thur'hars closed in on his destination. As he walked he took in the smell and sound of the lake and the creatures around it, interrupted when he spotted the cafe he was to meet at. He knew this was the place but a quick glance led him to believe he had arrived early. There did not seem to be anyone that gave an outward appearance of being a Jedi or any other kind of important person. Then again, the only feature that would really call him out in a crowd (other than the lightsaber hanging from his hip) was his second pair of upper extremities. For this fact he decided to rely on nudges from the Force until his eyes were affixed upon an average-looking young woman who seemed to be observing the local water fowl.

He examined her, unsure of her simply because she was not an example of the typical important person, nor was she particularly intimidating. He had no real reason to be suspicious other than habitual wariness, but it remained. Slowly, he stepped up towards where the young lady was sitting, waving his lower right hand in greeting. "I assume you are miss Camlenn," he said in his usual even tone. "I am Padawan Thur'hars. I believe you wished to speak with me." He pushed a small, greeting smile as he extended a hand.

A friendly, open smile lit up on Amilthi's face. "Ah, hello! 'Amilthi' is just fine", she said as she rose from her seat to greet him. Shaking a lower-right hand was something of a novelty and made her wonder if Codruese had single worlds for upper-right and lower-right. "Thanks for coming. I was glad to find that the holonet doesn't seem to have deceived me about this place, don't you think? I hope you didn't have trouble finding it?" All this was spoken before she finally sat down again and put her hands in her lap.

She was obviously rather more animated than her vis-à-vis, in fact more so than her usual self. She had learned that it was generally a good idea to be lively and act a bit more extraverted around new people, but there was also just a slight tinge of nervousness mixed into it. After all, she wanted him to have a good time and not regret the long trip out here, which she had requested of him for no apparent reason - although with the excuse that her own capabilities for travel were somewhat restricted.

"They're supposed to have excellent coffee here, too, if you physiology can cope with that. Mine can't", she said with a wry smile.

Thur'hars was surprised by the sudden liveliness in the young woman as she introduced herself and shook his hand, which essentially told him that they were not here for business, or at least not in a professional manner. She must be a quirky one, he thought, thoroughly amused. He took a seat next to her which would cross her natural field of vision in somewhat of a perpendicular manner and allowed himself to be more of a...person with a more genuine smile. "I do have to agree, this was certainly a good choice." His voice was now also more sincere, allowing a degree of his elation with the choice for a somewhat more natural surrounding finding it's way into his speech. "I did have to ask directions from a couple locals, though It wasn't a problem."

Her comment about the coffee, mixed with her smile, certainly seemed to set the mood for him. It couldn't hurt that he also smelled coffee and hot chocolate in the background. "So I've heard, though I prefer hot chocolate or a tea myself." It was then when the waiter appeared, bringing a lovely smelling hot chocolate, which he could tell was not simply an instant powder-mix. He'd had enough of those in his past. Though he wanted a good hot chocolate, he settled for a tea, not wanting something too sweet just yet. He then out toward the lake and the descending sun and said, "Good choice of drink, by the way." He took a deep breath, taking in the smells of the area once again, then looked back to Amilthi. "So, Amilthi, what could be the reason I was called to the pleasure of meeting you?" Though the diplomat in him had escaped for that question he was fully sincere, yet not attempting to simply pry an answer out of her he was just asking. Folding his lower arms in his lap, his left arm went up to his chin.

Amilthi succeeded at suppressing a chuckle, turning it into an amused grin. She didn't really know why, but she couldn't help finding funny the sight of someone crossing his arms and at the same time resting his chin on yet another hand. It was like the ultimate thinker pose.

How was she to answer his question? It was obvious that he had expected that she would have some more businesslike proposition that she wanted to discuss. Amilthi took care to remind herself not to draw conclusions from this about his character; under the circumstances, his assumption was probably not unreasonable and not indicative of a particular personality.

She considered simply telling him the truth, that there was no ulterior motive on her part, that she just thought meeting people could be fun and wanted to know what the guy who had made Ebberla Daw look dumb was like. It might embarrass him, though.

She dipped the spoon into her beverage, took it out again and put it into her mouth to taste the residues of chocolate and cream that had stuck to it. It was unsweetened, and Amilthi left it so.

Alternatively, she could point out that getting to know people from halfway across the galaxy couldn't hurt. It might get her a laugh, or it might not, but crucially, it wouldn't signal the same personal interest that the truth would, and which was in fact there. This didn't seem helpful in warming him up.

"I like meeting new people occasionally, especially when I've heard them say reasonable things. How have you been in the meantime?"
