BIOGRAPHY
Jhem Solus was born on Concord Dawn, circa 481 ABC. As the youngest of three siblings, he grew up in a healthy household not too terribly different from any other Mandalorian family, despite his parents’ undying hatred for the Empire. As members of Clan Solus, the notion wasn’t foreign or unheard of – most of the clansmen had also expressed their disdain for their Sith overlords. Jhem’s family, however, had a personal vendetta against them. His paternal grandfather had been slayed by one of their peacekeepers after having been conscripted to serve in the Imperial Military. From that point on, Jhem’s father made it his personal mission to avenge him.

In the years following his completion of Clan Solus’ trial, Jhem was sent out with his father and one of his older brothers to complete missions and raids, as well as aid in the growing disputes between their clan and Kryze. He began to see, rather than hear how the Sith treated non-Force sensitives outright. Like his father, his anger towards them began to grow and eventually, it led to an altercation.

He watched a Sith use the Force to try and choke his father in order to get the trio to submit to her will. While his brother tried to deescalate the situation, Jhem used him as a distraction. The woman choking their father didn’t have time to draw her lightsaber to deflect the shots he fired at her. It was a clean kill, one through her head and the other through her back, into her heart.

Despite the dishonorable nature of his attack, Jhem’s reasoning was sound – his quickdraw had prevented his father’s untimely demise. Rather than return home to Concord Dawn after their mission, however, Jhem and his brother instead left for Imperial Hutta space. He had determined that he would work as a bounty hunter and lie low until he could safely return home. He realized that his actions could have consequences, and that the dead Sith’s masters might try to hunt and punish him. Refusing to put the rest of his family at risk, he worked on the likes of Nar Shaddaa and similar moons and worlds for quite some time, hiding his teenaged youth behind his mask. During that time, he became well acquainted with the Hutts.

Three years passed and Jhem, worried about his family and clan, what with the rumors of the Mandalorian Uprising and news of Medriaas’s devastation, decided to return to their homeworld to aid in the fight to come. With a new leader, Jhem and his family rallied behind a young woman named Raz who had taken up the mantle of Clan Solus’ Alor.

With the search for a new Manda’lor driving the clans to mobilize for what could possibly be another Crusade, Jhem stands alongside Clan Solus, prepared to help solidify his people against the Sith threat.
PERSONALITY
Despite being trained as a proper Mandalorian, Jhem’s time as a bounty hunter has eroded his stoic nature. Cunning, deadly, and conniving, his tongue has grown a silver lining. Jhem is known for holding grudges for an excessively long amount of time and has been labeled as “petty” and “sassy” by the people that know him well. He’s become quite adept at getting his way through subtle manipulation and pressure.

Known for being a gloryhound, Jhem hopes that one day, long after his death, his deeds will still be remembered for shaping the Galaxy. Regardless, despite his character flaws, Jhem is as loyal as they come, not just to his clan, but to all Mandalorians. That isn’t to say that he trusts them with his life, but he values the lives of his comrades just as much as his own and has proven that he’s a team player on the battlefield time and time again.

He approaches his friends with a kind of tough love and very few have ever been able to get him to let down his guard enough to see the intimate, soft and caring side. The one exception is when it comes to children – for some reason, something about Jhem is exceedingly paternal. Children trust him and often times, when needing some kind of help, will approach him rather than others in a group setting. Watching his delicate side come out when dealing with them is a rare sight – it’s a true juxtaposition to his normal nature, one that he hides behind a feigned disdain when talking about them.

Either way, be ready for dad jokes and painful amounts of vindictive sarcasm.
