Do no harm?

Doctor Jillian House

Age: 36
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Occupation: Doctor
Faction: N/A
Homeworld: Coruscant
Force Sensitivity: None

Personality

With a polite, kind overall demeanor, it would be quite easy to label her as a caregiver, someone fit for the roll of a doctor tenfold. Jill seems to see the best in people, as far as to give chances to people who are far from deserving of such things. While her kindness extends to all, she is not a pushover. She cannot stand to be manipulated, and shoulders such actions extremely personally.

Despite her outward personality, Jill holds a great deal of regret and grief. Due to her past, misguided actions, she feels responsible for the injury and death of many. Her grief and regret often manifest in hallucinations, visions of a darker version of herself, which holds a much more sinister, pessimistic and Nihilistic view of the world. While overall detrimental to her health, the visions keep reality in mind when dealing with certain subjects.

History

Born from human immigrants on the planet of Mon Cala in one of the few surface-peaked cities, the human excelled in the Mon Calamari and Quarran schooling systems, showing early excellence in medical fields. As such, her studies giving way too the fields of Xenobiology and general medicine was of little surprise to anyone. As she concluded her schooling, however, a disease began to strike the local population.

While initially localized, the disease was highly infectious, had high lethality, and seemed to target the Mon Calamari in specific, having less effect on the other local species, and having practically no effect on humans such as the Doctor. The disease resulted in heavy quarantine of the city, with alien doctors such as House acting as the qualified medical personnel.

Throughout the years living under the quarantine, treating the sick, House worked with others to develop what was believed to be a cure. Using the many, varied samples of the infected, they devised a serum that rendered most cases of the disease inert, a true victory against the disease with a growing bodycount. As soon as the serum was produced in larger amounts, it was given enough to a much larger audience, seeming to cure most of those in the early and middle stages, albeit few in the later.

That was, until weeks later. Those who were initially infected and given the serum fell ill once more, seeming to suffer an accelerated form of the disease. In most cases, it tended to be lethal within as little as three days from it's reemergence. The difference was, however, the altered disease seemed to be non-transferable.

Hundreds died from the altered strain, and the Doctor, as well as many colleagues, were distraught by the effects. In the mind of House, the blood of the elderly, the young, and the children were on her hands. Fleeing the planet, she ignored the comments of forgiveness from the larger Mon Calamari community, which grew as the altered strain was used to create a form of serum that prevented the disease from spreading, helping to end the quarantine.

In an attempt to remove her name from public eye, she opened a clinic in the slums of Coruscant, deep in the lower levels. Operating on the rule of 'No Questions Asked,' she seemed to be welcome by the community at large. Many took use of her services, for as little as medical exams for common issues, to the more dire situations such as stab wounds and blaster shots.

Many paid for her services, some far more than her requested price. Those who couldn't pay due to poverty didn't pay, often giving what they could, be it as little as gratitude or as much as gifts of their individual trades. The local Government gave her payments due to her beneficial work to the overall state of the community.

One day, a news report explained the capture of many mob members, listing them off as well as their crimes. Shocked, she found that many of them had been repeat visitors to her Clinic, likely using her as a way to heal the injuries gain due to their crimes. Some of the victims even belonged to missing clientele, often poorer people. Blaming herself for keeping such criminals fit and healthy, she moved once more, vanishing into space.
