Joining an Indie faction

So, I was wondering, if my character is Force sensitive and doesn't know it, does he still have to join a Force sensitive faction? Because that doesn't really make any sense if he does.

Um, you answered your own question first off, but I want to ask this first: Who told you that if you are force sensitive you have to join a faction? Bugger, I want to know why you thought you had to join a faction at all.

I wanted to join a faction, but there are two options;
Force sensitive
Not force sensitive

I was asking cos my character thinks he's non-force sensitive, but he actually is. Hanging out with a bunch of Force sensitives would be a bit weird, wouldn't it?

Well does he or the force sensitives know they are force sensitive? This really feels more up to you. Is it like something that's going to be a problem I don't completely understand what's wrong here. If he thinks he's not force sensitive than why would he join them in the first place? You answered your own question.

make a force sensitive that doesnt know he is force sensitive because you have another option.. other factions, hence the mafia... you can develop his faction status and discover force sensitivity in story at your own pace

My FS, who knew he was FS, belonged to the "Black Sun(a Crime Syndicate)" last timeline. It was listed under the non-FS faction category.

I had an fs indy faction last timeline, but I accepted non-fs.

Just because their listed under a certain category, doesn't mean they'll refuse your character for being one or the other; unless the faction specifically lists that they will.

the way i see it is force sensitive factions REQUIRE your character to be force sensitive to join whilst non force sensitives do not. So even if you are force sensitive you can choosen either
