The ESCAPE

The news of the Imperial Knight's Defeat major defeat at the hands of the Sith a second time hit hard or Jotunn. He was a Knight when the first blow was delivered on Bastion, where he barely escaped with his life. Only in title you could assess he was a true knight though. He was never true to the code nor creed of the Imperial Knights, he boasted, he acted like a fool and flaunted his lightsaber and powers like a child's favorite toy and he had several infraction against him.

The only reason they kept him around was because his family was well connected and to a much lesser extent his skill in Teras Kasi and subsequently with a light saber. In fact his behavior was the only reason he was able to get out of Bastion alive. He was enjoying a drunken night in the city after sneaking away from the knights headquarters and evading detainment for starting a fight with a fellow night, here he whipped out his light saber to try and impress ladies and socialized with friends. He did eventually pick up a sleazy Twi'lik dancer and took her to run down hotel in the slums. The tenticles freaked him out a bit but turning out the lights did the trick.

Pink-Handcuffs.gif

The next thing he remembered was being cuffed to the bed by a pair of pink fuzzy blinders and no Twi'lik dancer nor clothes in sight. In fact all of his possessions were gone, he said aloud "I guess it was worth it" while he reminisced about the last night. The cuffs were tight and he was too hungover to use the force so he was stuck for a while. He looked out the window of the hotel room as the morning turned to the afternoon and as the sun set. It was late night when Ryloth, a good twi'lik friend of Jotunn nicknamed after the planet he was from, burst through the door. At first repulsed by his friends nudity he then yelled "Where have you been? Where are your clothes? Why do you never have your clothes?" Jotunn simply shrugged his shoulders and replied "Hi", Ryloth then rushed over to free him of his restraints with his light saber. This wasn't the first time this has happened so the twi'lik brought some clothes. But this time it was different, Jotunn could by the tone of Taris's voice.

"What happened?" Jotunn inquired as he got out bed.

"It's bad..." his friend replied.

"Yeah! But what happened? Was it because that fight?"

"No! I'll explain later we have to meet Askir and Saatral now!"

After the man got dressed he and his friend rushed from the room to a speeder parked outside and Ryloth accelerated off at top speed toward the star port where he had told the others to meet him.

"Why are we going to the starport? What happened to the HQ? FRAAAAAK! I knew it was the fight!" Jotunn said with panic on his voice.

"No shut up, the HQ was attacked!" Ryloth replied

"What? By who?"

"I don't know, I barely escaped myself, but they killed them all!"

"Frak... just... frack."

"I know buddy, but we just have to drive now." Ryloth replied right before another speeder rushed out in front of them causing them to barrel down to the surface and crash. The force of the crash made Jotunn hit his head on the dash of the speeder leaving him rocked and slipping in and out of consciousness. He saw black for a moment then he saw Ryloth fighting off several men armed with blaster, deflecting as many as he could with his saber but he could not handle them all and was shot down. This is when he blacked out...

"Check the speeder for survivors... kill them" a man dressed in officer uniform said to one of his men, an Imperial Storm Trooper. "Jeth, Arosk, Heap block off any civilians from coming over here." The man walked over to the speeder as his allies turned their back, he looked in the passenger window and was taken by surprise when he was pushed back into a wall slamming his head on it. The door of the speeder was then kicked of landing on the man, the officer was the only one that saw and barely let out the words "Get him!" before he was being chocked with the force and his neck snapped. The other soldiers turned around as Jotunn retrieved his deceased friends blade and didn't have time to react before they were all defeated. This is when Jotunn came to...

He was confused, standing around an entire squad of dead Storm Troopers with a light saber in his hand. He then saw the body of his dear friend and rushed over to him, there was nothing he could do Ryloth was dead but he heard a voice coming from one of the dead storm troopers "Squad 415, reply. Squad 415, reply! That's it i'm sending a patrol to your location." Jotunn realized he had to leave, he contemplated taking his friends body with him but he realized they didn't know how many Knights involved. So he made his way off the planet by stowing away in a mid sized freighter with Intergalactic Banking Clan markings.

The Vetitus II was a heavily modified YT-2400

He fairly assumed he was heading to Muunilinst, the IGBC headquarters but apparently he was wrong. The Freighter was the Vetitus II, the successor of a ship famous for making the Hydean Way in the shortest distance in over 4 centuries. The Vetitus II was owned by Anga the Hutt a young crime lord making his way up criminal underground, a being that was known to be ruthless to any who crossed him. So when Jotunn was discovered in the cargo hold of the ship by Zabrak claiming to be working for the Hutt he quickly figured that fighting his way out of it wasn't an option. So to keep himself from getting launched out the ship into space he tried to talk his way out of it by promising lots of credits.

The smuggler wouldn't have it though, but instead of launching him into space he noticed Jotunn's light saber and assumed he was a Jedi. Anga the Hutt thought a Jedi would be a prized commodity in his spice smuggling "business" and had been openly attempting to recruit one without luck. So the smuggler presumed he would be paid immensely for bringing one before the Hutt crime lord. The Zabrak made Jotunn a deal, that if he gave the man passage to Nar Shadda

Along the way the Knight and the smuggler became acquainted, Jotunn and the smuggler, Iracich, got along quite well. He never mentioned himself being an Imperial Knight though, he knew by then the Imperial Knights had been purged by the sith and he himself was a wanted man. When they arrived on Nar Shadda Jotunn kept up his end of the bargain he followed the Zabrak to Agna. After a few moments of Iracich explaining his find to his boss a trandoshan in heavy armor walked out motioning Jotunn to follow him.

Just a Smugglen'

Fast forward 10 years and Jotunn a changed man, far more tame and modest than he once was, yet he has still honed the skills of his favorite toy. He is Captain of the Vetitus II, his first mate, Iricich, after smuggling very successfully for his new boss for over 500 runs, the Crime lord gifted the former Knight the ship he had been working on sense he stowed away on it almost a decade ago. The man was doing his final mission for Agna, after this last run he wanted to take off from smuggling for a while and start to look for the remaining Imperial Knights. Not long ago he had heard from fellow smugglers who claimed to have worked with them that they had a base on Seoul V, but that was all.

His last mission for Agna the Hutt was to deliver 6 crates of what he assumed was spice from Nar Shadda to Onderon. This route was one of the more dangerous ones due to the high amount of pirates said to be in the Kwenn system lately and several Alliance checkpoints along the way. Jotunn loaded the crates onto his ship and took off hitting the hyperspace route going through the Kastolar sector, intending to refuel and hide his cargo better on Ubrikka before going through the Randon Checkpoint. Apparently fate had its own ideas, the Vetitus II's hyperspace drive cut out on grid R-10, the Kwenn System. Iricich suggested Jotunn check the systems while he tried to com for Hutt supporters in the area. Jotunn made his way to the engine room and noticed something very grave, not only were several systems damaged, they were sabotaged. He pulled out a com link and called Iricich into the engine room, but at that moment the ship started shaking violently and the power went out.

Recently on a run Iricich had with another freighter a very valuable artifact was lost when he had to dump the cargo after getting boarded by an Alliance cruiser. No one knew what the artifact was but Agna, Iricich and a select few of Agna's personal advisors. all anyone knew that it was worth a lot, over 500 million credits and the people the Hutt was selling it to were very powerful individuals. Naturally Agna assumed Iricich had stolen the artifact for himself and sold it when it turned up on the black market a couple weeks later. When Iricich was informed he was wanted by Agna he knew something was up and laid low, but Agna the Hutt isn't a fool and knew that Iricich would be on the run with Jotunn. So he had planned to deal with him, unfortunately for Jotunn he was present when he executed that plan.

Harbringer.jpg

They had been hit by an ion bolt from from a Clades Class light corvette, a pirate vessel. Back up power went on immediately, but that only turned on the lights and life support therefor the ship was a sitting duck. The average crew aboard a ship like that was 6 men, plus a complement of give or take 8 pirate raiders Jotunn had to think fast. Him and Iricich didn't have much time before the pirates boarded so they rigged the only entrance with fragmentation grenades. It was just light enough to avoid damaging the ship beyond immediate repair and still take its tole on the invaders.

Plan of the ship.

Luckily for the smugglers the entrance was also bottle necked in a hallway with the cock pit and living area on the other end. So they through what ever they could find thick enough to protect them from blasters in the way. They readied their blaster and took cover from behind the makeshift barricade. Jotunn heard the slamming of the pirate ship as they docked and started counting "Three... two... ONE!" and an explosion rocked their ears. They got up and shot as many pirates as they could but they underestimated the size of the raiding party and their trap only killed 4 the rest were either wounded or dead. In about 3 minutes they were running low on ammo and were contemplating retreating to the engine room were they could use the escape pod. Before they could decide on what to do a thermal detonator flew over their heads a quick seconds of staring at it then lead to them leaping to the living area.

Jotunn and his friend were knocked down and disorientated by the force of the detonator, before they could get their wits about them they were subdued. Jotunn and Iricich were placed in adjacent cells in the brig of the pirate's corvette waiting to be talked to by the captain of the ship. The captain came into the brig followed by a trandoshan and 2 pirates. The trandoshan had a distinct scar on his face running from his eye to his cheek and a set of battle worn gold plated armor, Iricich immediately recognized him from Agna's throne room.

"You work for Agna! So do we! You have to let us go, were on a job right now" that zabrak said.

"Quiet boy!" The captain said with a deep and intimidating voice "You wouldn't be here if it weren't for Agna."

"What is this about?" Jotunn butted in.

The trandoshan stepped forward and said in dosh "This doesn't concern you, human. I gave the credits, Agnon, hand him over."

The captain motioned for the pirates to retrieve Iricich. He struggled but they had no problem subduing him, they took him out of the brig and the trandoshan followed.

"Where are they taking him?" Jotunn yelled.

"Your friend seems to have displeased you boss, I would hate to be in his position." He said followed by a small laugh. An inaudible voice from the pirates com link led him to reply "Good, bring him to the cell block." The former Imperial Knight felt a dark yet familiar presence on the ship, something he hadn't felt since Bastion. "Apparently you seemed to have displeased you boss too, he sold you out. Your in for a treat" the captain said as he began to walk out "I know... Ryloth" Jotunn said to himself.

A long moment had passed when a male twi'lik with a horribly disfigured face walked in light saber in hand, he was wearing a black cloak and the robes of an acolyte.

"Remember me?" the Twi'lek said as he pulled off his hood, he had an almost electronic voice.

"Well... I remember what you were" Jotunn replied.

"Back then I was nothing."

"There was a point I thought that, when you were dead."

"Don't try to convince yourself you didn't know."

"Revenge?"

"That's only half of it."

The Twi'lek sliced through the lock of cell the with his bright red blade and motioned for the former Knight to come out. Jotunn noticed his saber sitting on a table across from his cell next to his blaster and the rest of his gear. Without taking his eyes off his opponent he reached out for it pulling to him with the force and ignited it, taking stance. Jutunn assessed the situation, he decided it was best for him to retreat, but the only exit was on the other side of his foe he would have change that. The man would never kill his old friend, but he would defend himself as best he could.

The sith made the first move slashing downward at a 45 degree angle, Jotunn deflected the blow while simultaneously circling away from it. That was his goal, to keep circling away from his foe until was facing the door. He used to same method effectively until the twi'lek realized this, after training with him for years in practice he knew Jotunn's thought process. Jotunn tried to use the same tactic but was thwarted by his foe attempting to attack in the direction he circled away but by doing that he left the other side of his body open and Jotunn kicked his feet out from under him as he blocked the sith's blade causing him to fall on his back.

Jotunn quickly put his blade to his opponents neck and step on the his lightsaber in it and rolled it out of his hand with the ball of his foot "I couldn't take you with me, we would have both died by now."

"Kill me!" the downed foe ordered.

"Sorry, Ryloth" he replied right before he knocked him unconscious with a head stomp.

Jotunn rushed out the door, he heard the sound of a ship undocking and ran the main corridor to the front of the ship. He figured it was the trandoshan who had captured his first mate and that he had to get to the ion canon controls on the bridge to try and stop it. When he got there 6 men were were crowding around the pilot, they had lost control of the ship and it was going full speed into a planet. He immediately turned around and ran back down to the other end of the ship where the escape pods were located. When he arrived Ryloth was there in front of an open escape pod, waiting for him, and all Jotunn could say was "What the frak!"

Ryloth Ignited his lightsaber, but then the ship tilted violently as it entered the planets atmosphere and he fell forward onto his saber, impaling him self. Jotunn's jaw dropped and all he could say was "What... the frack." After just looking at Ryloth's body for a moment thinking "What the frack" the ship started to rock more violently than before and he snapped out of it. Getting to the escape pod in just enough time.

Jotunn was lost, his only friend in the galaxy was taken to the last place he wanted to be. He knew he had to save him, but there was no way he could do it alone... and so begins our hero's search for the Imperial Knights!

Well, I finally finished after accidentally posting it when I was placing the pictures for the first half. Sorry for the shit ending, but I'm getting pretty tired and since I wont have time to finish it over the next couple of days I wanted to churn it out today. Please leave feed back, especially about the "black out" part I'm thinking its a little over the top. Thanks for reading!

Edit: Also I was unaware that it was a whole ten years later so that might leave a few wholes but ive fixed the most obvious ones.

I like it, best pink handcuff pictures, i got a little lost when he got captured, too many people, too many scenarios. I thought the new twilek was the one who stole his gear, but it was a sith? and i was confused. @.@

BUT, it's a good profile, it may have just been me, more reading than i'm used to, but it was okay.

Thank you, the sith part was one of the ones I was worried about, it was Ryloth, the one who "died" in the fight on bastion.

I'll get to clearing that up.

Cool backstory (smugglers for the win), fits in with faction, and he has sort of a neat little character hook (wants to rescue his friend.)

Mazel Tov and welcome to the IK!
