So, I've been stalking the site for the last day trying to absorb all the rules and info I'll need to know before I can begin my adventure across the cosmos. From what I've noticed though, is that there is apparently a new timeline "Dawn of the Republic". Is it safe to assume to hold any RP plans I have until it is ready? Or is it still safe for me to create my character an all that good stuff before?

Welcome! Yes we do have a new timeline coming. Its really up to you whether you want to wait or not. You are welcome to jump in now. If you decide to trial run your character before the new timeline you can bring into the new one with no issues. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
