Kalen Ikad Genet

A Mandalorian warrior of Clan Genet, Kalen - unlike some other members of his clan - doesn't concern himself at all with trying to make up for the evils wrought by the house named after his clan, and instead attempts to breeze through life with a merry demeanour seasoned with a jocular nature. Surprisingly enough, said jocular nature has yet to get him into any trouble he can't get himself out of. He does, however, still strive to act good and honourably - as a result of personal choice, however, not because of the history associated with his clan's name.

Kalen is a robust example of a cavalero, walking around with an unmistakably gallant swagger most of the time. He stands taller than average, at five feet and eleven inches, though he's still light on his feet at 173 pounds - however, don't let the average weight and thin look fool you, that's still mostly muscle. His physique is generally tall and thin, with obvious musculature to it, the markers of a man who has played the role of a mercenary and soldier for most of his adult life.
In the face, Kalen has remarkably managed to avoid gaining any sorts of noticeable scars or anything like that. His hair is a light brown, and is naturally a bit wavy - he generally doesn't mess with it at all, however, putting no effort into styling it or anything like that. He just lets it sit as unkempt as it will be, and he only attempts to comb the knots out of it every morning and leaves it at that, since it'll just get all sorts of disheveled by the time the day is done. His other features are generally attractive, with a sort of strong, hardy quality to them - though any possibly intimidating nature to his features is completely offset by the brilliant smile and bright blue eyes he is normally wearing, when interacting with other people.

Physical
[/beebox3]Having been trained to be a warrior since he was quite young, physical pursuits come quite easily to Kalen, his body being quite well taken care of for everything he needs to do. He has the strength and endurance to be able to move around all day in his armour without tiring too much, and can carry pretty much any load he needs to, and deliver hard hits with his fists or any melee weapons. In his dexterity he really shines; not only is he quick and agile, but he is also very precise, either with a sword or blaster, standing still or on the move - his fine motor control and excellent proprioception serve him more than his strength does. As well, he is a very healthy man with a hardy constitution, taking care to make sure he never gets sick and able to take what few hits come his way and keep moving - many of his friends are unsure whether he just has a high pain tolerance (and alcohol and anesthetic tolerance) or if his nerves are just all dead.

Mental
[/beebox3]Kalen is a very intelligent man, knowing quite a bit about various places in the galaxy and their cultures, as well as being a polyglot and, in general, having an excellent and quick wit. Between his knowledge of military history and tactics, as well as all the weapons and armour he might be expected to use, how well read he is in general, and the knowledge gleaned from his experiences in life, he's become a rather smart man. However, his intelligence is not tempered with wisdom, as his carefree and jocular nature in life don't lend themselves well to making the best decisions at all times. However, his powerful charisma helps him to stay out of trouble by using nothing but sheer force of personality. Either be it through jokes, persuasion, seduction, intimidation, or any other style of communication, Kalen is very good at getting his way and getting himself out of trouble.

Kalen is a very happy-go-lucky, merry, carefree, and jocular individual, and those are the first traits anybody will notice about him - and, quite often, the only traits anybody will notice from him. It often seems that Kalen can't go more than four minutes without making some sort of joke, and while sometimes the jokes are subpar in terms of actual content, Kalen's delivery and naturally extroverted charisma still manage to induce people into laughter at the joke, regardless of how actually good or bad it was. And he is, indeed, quite extroverted - communication with others comes easily to him and he much prefers to be around others than to be alone, viewing any opportunity for social activity as an opportunity that has to be taken. Especially if it involves either fighting or drinking, which are two of Kalen's favourite pursuits.
However, Kalen still cares quite a bit for his friends and family, either blood or adopted, and will go out of his way to protect them even as he makes jokes at both their expense and the expense of whoever or whatever is threatening them. He holds a great deal of respect for his own culture that he grew up in, as well as other cultures around the galaxy, and tries to learn of them and their histories whenever he gets the chance - although he'll still crack jokes about such things rather often, which often manages to make people think he just doesn't care whatsoever about the nuances of various different cultures. As well, he holds a great enjoyment for learning in general, regardless of the topic, so he can often be found trying to learn some new skill or tidbit of knowledge or trivia whenever somebody is trying to find him, and often discussing whatever he's currently reading about with everybody else around him.

Combat
[/beebox3]Kalen is a proficient fighter with many different weapons. Blaster rifles and pistols come to him quite naturally and easily, due to the great familiarity he has with them - however, as he himself says, it's not like they're anything hard to learn how to use and use well. He's a talented sharpshooter - even with the R-8R blaster rifle he likes to tote around all the time, a weapon renowned for being "just accurate enough" to do what it needs to do and nothing much more.
He is also proficient with various bladed and other melee weapons, and often enjoys using them more than blasters. Be it a vibrosword meant for use primarily with two hands, a vibro-rapier, or just a simple broadsword (vibrating or not) with an enclosed hilt, he's trained quite a bit to make it into a viable weapon for his own use. He's also well practiced in the use of the quarterstaff and some smaller staff weapons, though he doesn't use those quite as often.

General
[/beebox3]Kalen also possesses the general skills many denizens of the galaxy do. He's mechanically apt enough to do a fair amount of work on his own ship whenever he needs to, he's a passing-fine cook, he's a good pilot both in and out of battle, and he knows how to work a modern computer better than most anybody who is at least fifteen years older than him. He also speaks multiple langauges, including: Basic, Mando'a, Huttese, Bocce, Durese, Twi'leki, and High Galactic; he can also understand Shyriiwook and Binary.

Kalen, fitting with his position as a warrior and mercenary, has a fair few weapons he will often take along with him when he knows he's going into battle. The first of these is his R-8R blaster rifle, with the original stock replaced by a pistol grip with a collapsible paratrooper style stock, making it a bit lighter and more maneuverable in battle, especially in close quarters. He also sports a pair of medium blaster pistols, each one built as heavy and reliable as a brick and with fairly reasonably powerful bolts, as well. He generally wears them in twin holsters on his hips, while his rifle is often worn on a sling along one shoulder when not in use. He also has a phrik vibrosword, of a broadsword style looking much like this, that he wears on a baldric, the sword situated just above his left hip.
He also often wears a Z-4 Jetpack, though he only takes advantage of three of the five available missile types for the weapon - concussion, high explosive, and cluster missiles are the only three he ever uses. Toxic gas generally bothers him (bad for the environment) and glop rockets just make a big mess that is about impossible to clean out of armour.
His armour is a fairly standard suit of CCT armour - he keeps it well cleaned and polished, and it is primarily dark grey with forest green accentation. He opted to have fairly full coverage on the front as well as having a full cuirass to properly protect his back and give the jetpack a place to hook onto; his legs also have some armour going down the back of them, in order to protect from any exhaust from the jetpack. Lastly, along with all of that, he has a simple kama, made out of thick, pleated armourweave, to offer some extra upper leg/groin protection from either jetpack flames or low-flying shrapnel and such like that.

Kalen commands a pretty standard Alabaster Escort Freighter, modified to be able to be piloted by only one person - alongside his handy M7-series astromech, M7-X1, who has been outfitted with a Sunspear heavy blaster pistol for use in helping defend the ship. The astromech also runs the navicomputer for Kalen, most of the time, as well as doubling as a copilot, extra gunner, or anything else that is needed; meanwhile, the cargo hold has been modified with a few cells to hold captured bounties in.

Kalen had a pretty simple childhood overall. Born on Mandalore, raised on Mandalore, joined the Border Alliance like Mandalore - ha, just kidding, that's not the life for Kalen. His family was part of the local military that ended up becoming part of the Border Alliance, and they did a lot of hunting and training and the like with Kalen, giving him a fairly standard Mando-ilitary upbringing, but he chose to go the time-honoured Mandalorian route of mercenary and bounty hunter, rather than that of soldier. It wasn't difficult for him - the skills were all fairly applicable on one side or another - it just required that he use his amazing intellect much more. In recognition of his skills, he was eventually asked to join Ha'rangir's Chosen, something he consented to, considering just how amusing and how great a test of his abilities it would be to join with the mercenary group.
