NAME: Karacaldra Von Kedisy

FACTION: Galactic Alliance

RANK: Rebel

SPECIES: Togorian

AGE: 28

GENDER: Female

FORCE SENSITIVE: No

APPEARANCE:

Karacaldra stands at a respectable 2.5 meters in height(8ft.), and weighs in at 141 kgs(312 lbs), Taller and more wide-set then the average female Togorian, but still shorter and scrawnier then her male counterparts. Her eyes are a deep blue in color, standing out from the pale white fur of her face. Her ears are pointed and a dark shade of gray, and she has streaks of gray which run down the back of her head, down her shoulders, and onto her back and tail. Karacaldra usually enjoys wearing clothing that accents her white fur, though isn’t afraid to get her uniform or her own hands dirty. Her black and gold cap is a symbol of pride for her, and she wears it almost everywhere she goes, even when not in her military uniform.

ATTRIBUTES:

Karacaldra is iron willed, willing to push herself harder and harder to achieve her goals. Her physical might allow her to accomplish amazing feats of strength. She has trained in martial arts, and utilizes her large stature to push advantages, the same mentality showing in her combat tactics of blitzing the enemy with massive firepower. Her main skills remain her fast reflexes, keen mind, and quick eyes, which has allowed her to succeed as a Gunner and Naval Officer of her planet. She has always had a knack for reacting quickly and for her good reflexes, making her an excellent pilot, and her sharp eye for detail has aided her in her career. However, Karacaldra is also temperamental, and can sometimes allow her emotions to distract her from the goals at hand. She often bottles up what she feels or thinks on the inside, putting on a strong face for those around her, and over-burdens herself in trying to help everyone. Her grief and sorrow can sometimes get the better of her, and her refusal to show it to anyone leads to explosive outbursts in private.

PERSONALITY:

Karacaldra is a strong willed individual, willing to push themselves for the sake of others, and for the mission at hand. She is a soldier, and tries to put on a serious and strong persona for others to see, as an example for them to be inspired by. She is practically minded, straight forward, and usually to the point, with a dry sense of humor that she rarely shows. Karacaldra however, is also afraid of letting others down, or letting them inside of her personal thoughts or feelings. She cares deeply for those under her command, and feels personally responsible for their well being. She buries all the negative feelings she has and unleashes them against those she deems her enemies, sparing no one and showing no mercy. This catharsis is required for her, and without it, she can end up driving herself crazy trying to keep up her act with her comrades.

BIOGRAPHY:

Karacaldra Von Kedisy was born into a proud family of Togorian Military veterans, which in truth was not saying much considering how war-like her people tended to be. Her people were influenced by the mandalorian crusaders when they had come to her world, shaping her people’s way of life and introducing them to the existence of life beyond the stars. Many male Togorians would dedicate themselves to a nomadic lifestyle, often leaving their worlds to become mercenaries, while many female Togorians choose to stay on their world in large cities, protecting and raising the next generation. Her upbringing had been learning to dawn armor, exercise drills at the break of dawn, and CQC training, followed by a rigorous academic program that her mother enlisted her in. Her calling, she felt, was one of defense for her Homeworld, enlisting into the planets Naval Academy, the same academy as her Mother, where she excelled in fast, hit and run tactics, against would-be raiders and pirates. This was to be expected though, since she was a Von Kedisy.

The Von Kedisy line was known for its fierce and strong warriors, her ancestral family had been stepped in a line of wandering warriors, were said to have witnessed the Mandalore’s arrival on their world. Almost all of them died in battle against him, and it was considered an honor to fall in battle against such a powerful foe. When the mandalore departed, a few Togorians left with him, some belonging to Von Kedisy, all but one of her ancestors having stayed behind to continue their bloodline on-world. For Karacaldra, this honor was seen as simply another task given to her by her family, another decision made for her by her almost non-present father, and ever present mother. The only family contact she didn't mind was her brothers, both of whom had left Togoria to reunite with the former Von Kedisy's in mandalorian space. One of the last communications she had with the two was that they'd made their own armor, thier beskar'gam as they called it.

She envied her brothers, as males they were expected to leave the world and wander nomadically, it was what their people expected. At least once a year everyone would come together for a few days of celebration, she wondered if her brothers would be there to. They would not however, as the world the two brothers had found themselves on, Medriaas, had been utterly razed by the Empire. The losses had been great, but for Karacaldra, they were even more massive, her brothers had been at the wrong place, at the wrong time, and had both been slaughtered with the clan they were with. Karacaldra felt empty, hollow and filled with sorrow, loneliness, and above all, anger. Anger at a galaxy that had taken her siblings from her, anger at a group whose ideology lured her family to their fate, and anger at the Empire, who tossed away their lives like nothing. She began to sign up for more and more active combat positions, no longer was content with merely guarding the space lanes. She ventured out, and began to train for faster combat deployments, and actively charted ambushes against the enemy forces, her ferocity in battle making her more and more sullied, and prone to fits of violence.

Her mother was furious at her, when it came out that against orders from her superior officer, she had opened fire against a pirate vessel passing through the area. She had dragged her squad into a firefight that they narrowly perished in, and a few good men died because of her actions. She knew it was true, and she knew that all she was doing was putting her comrades lives in danger, all for her own quest for justice. Karacaldra made a difficult choice that day, resigning from the Togorian Navy, and spending the credits from her funds to buy herself a ship. With the reluctant help of her father, she was able to get off world and start charting her way off world. Karacaldra was full of fury, blaming the empire and to a lesser extent the mandalorians, for her brothers deaths. She also felt a strange dread creeping inside of her, the feeling of freedom, of being able to decide where she'd go, and what she'd do, without being ordered, made her uneasy. She drifted the galaxy for a while, acting as something of a wandering vigilante, stealing gear from slave trades and pirates, always on the run. One day she heard rumors of a group of people wanting to fight the empire, not a big group, probably just a cell or some tiny band of optimists. It intrigued her, and the prospect of being with others who also wanted to fight the empire enticed her to try and seek them out. Thus, her first steps in the journey to join the empire began.

SKILLS:

Karacaldra is a expert marksman and pilot, especially skilled at demolitions and explosives, though her training in CQC cannot be understated. Her species build allows her to utilize a normally heavy weapon with relative lightness, reflected in her choice of a large sword and heavy ordnance. While able to command a crew, Karacaldra has always believed in leading by example, and so tends to favor going into a Fighter herself. A leader who does not lead, to her, is like a warrior who does not wage war. She is multilingual, knowing Togorian, Basic, and Mando’a, though she is a bit rusty on the finer points of slicing and technological hacking, preferring a more physical means of opening doors and breaking into facilities.

I see you're not making a mandalorian after all.

A few issues that need fixing:

1. You mention her being of short stature and light weight, but according to Wookieepedia an average Togorian female's height ranges from 1.8-2.2m. As 2.5m she's well above average, so she's pretty tall and bulky for her gender and people.

2. The whole angle about the Mandalorians discovering the Togorian planet is fine, it was part of legends and canon hasn't refuted it. But you're increasing its significance beyond what I inferred from the legends info. Some Togorians were recruited to become mandalorians, but the species itself did no take on mando culture as a whole. If that is what you want I think you might need a lore submission for the species. As it stands, only a small part of them would have left with the original Mandos and the rest were more or less indifferent to mandos. No mass recruitment into the culture and such.

3. You cannot have the character be in command of a ship, much less a band of ships. Level 1 characters are nobodies, and that means the bio as well. She can be on the bridge of a ship as a helmsman or something, but not in command. Along same lines, the bits about her being descended from a "great ancestor" who was the first the Mandalore need to go as well.

4. Not sure what you mean by "The mandalorians moving on the war path once more, after centuries of slowing down, had caused a stir within the ranks of her Homeworld." The mandalorians didn't go on any war path in recent times. They went into full on revolt after Medriaas.

5. She can have heard rumors about the existence of some rebel cell, but not the Rebellion as whole.

@Wit I'm sorry for taking so long to get on this. I didn't get an alert. I've made the specified changes, and I'm sorry for overstepping things earlier.

Just keep in mind that there would probably be no Von Kedisy among the mandalorians, Mandalorians tend to adopt children and the take on clan names, so the family name would have long died out.

Approved!
