APPEARANCE

Karraala is a Karta'Esh, a cat like, bipedal species with a tail. Fingers and toes have retractable claws, her feet are digitigrade. The ears are mobile, set on the top of the head.

Her eyes are a deep green, the pupils slitted. Her whole body is covered with short, soft fur of a golden brown colour, lighter at the front, patterned with darker stripes. The fur on her head is a bit longer. She styles it comparably to a humans hair. She is of a slender build, emphasising flexibility over strength. Not yet fully grown, the adolescent stands at 1.6m tall. The girl likes to wear comfortable clothes. It doesn't matter whether they are traditional clothing from her homeworld or a padawans tunic and robes, as long as they are not restricting her mobility.

ATTRIBUTES

Nimble and swift, the young woman moves gracefully in nearly every situation. Her youth and small size results in a certain lack of strength though. Though by no means superhuman, her senses are sharper than an average humans. Especially in low light conditions she can still see clearly.
PERSONALITY

The young Karta'Esh loves life, seeing new things and excitement. This is balanced by a gentle strain. She struggles to subordinate herself to others, especially when she thinks herself more talented than the other, and although she does her best to be patient, her impulsiveness doesn't make it easy.

Life and death are part of a cycle, as such, she has no problem hunting for food or killing to survive. She is by no means cruel or even bloodthirsty. Nonetheless, Karraala enjoys a good fight, or the thrill of a hunt.

BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised on Nuria, Karraala grew up in a feudal, low tech society. Her father was a high ranked warrior, part of the noble house Ger'Ar. As such, she trained her body and mind in the fighting arts from a young age. Her connection to the force became apparent during that training. It made her life and development precious to the noble house. She was well cared for and protected. When the first spaceship arrived on the planet, it was a sensation. The system had been cut off from the rest of the galaxy for centuries, something about the hyperspace structure making it nearly impossible to reach Nuria and interfering with the function of higher technology. Now that had changed, Karraala felt a calling to outer space. The young Karta'Esh saw her path leading away from home, to learn more about herself and the force. Understandably the houses First did not like to lose his prized subject and tried to make her stay with gifts and promises. Karraalas was torn between the feeling of duty towards the house, and the desire to walk her own path, the impression of destiny that emanated through the force. In the end, she boarded the freighter, which had filled up its cargo bay with local specialities and hand made artifacts, the captain wanted to sell on other planets. In Nuria he had found a golden goose.

The captain was a sympathisant of the alliance and had transported Jedi in the past. When he found out about Karraalas connection to the force, he contacted them, arranging a meeting. After a period of testing, overcoming the understandable suspicion of the rebels, she finally was allowed to begin her training as a padawan.

SKILLS

Coming from a low tech world, she is good at surviving without technology. She is proficient with blades, bow and arrow, the traditional iron clawed gauntlets of the Karta'Esh and of course empty handed combat. Recently, the padawan has started familiarising herself with blasters, prefers close combat over ranged combat though. A lightsaber is of course much more dangerous to everyone including oneself than a primitive bladed weapon, still, her experience with the latter helped her greatly adjusting to the weapon of a jedi. The girl has also started to learn how to use modern technology, but is yet below average regarding ability. Repairing anything more complicated than a crossbow is right out. Same goes for the use of computers. Simple clicking she can do, but wouldn't know where to start when it came to slicing into one. In the force, Karraala is able to enhance her own body. Jumping farther, moving faster. Sometimes she gets premonitions of places or events outside her physical reach. At times, she can gain insight into another beings personality. When it comes to interacting others, she mostly relies on her own cuteness. The famed Jedi mind trick is not yet something she has grasped.
GEAR

A padawans clothing and robes, a double bladed lightsaber. A comlink, Some survival gear in her belt. Water purifying tablets, bandages, needle and thread, ect. A small flute.
ATTRIBUTES

RELATIONSHIPS
She loves her family. Father, mother, two brothers, and misses them a bit, even as all the new things she sees and hears in the wide galaxy is filling her time out. She also still feels affiliated with the noble house Karraala grew up in. The Jedi order feels like a home away from home to her. The force connecting all the Jedi a subliminal net that catches her.

I cannot find any information on the Karta'Esh species. Can you link me to somewhere that can tell me more about them?

My apologies. They are a homebrewn species I used in several RP genres. I thought I had mentioned it in the character description, but it must have fallen off the side.

Nuria is also my own invention. There is no written information about either on the internet at this point, I'm sorry to say.

The species should not have much impact on game mechanics. Besides the retractable claws, a tail and a better night vision, they are comparable to humans.

But I simply love to play them.

It's a backwater people on a backwater planet, of no further consequences to anyone in power.

Unfortunately both the species and the planet will need an official and approved write up before I could consider approving this character. You also will not be able to RP using this character until those write ups are made and approved.

You can change the race to something already approved, make any requisite changes to the biography as well as use an existing planets or I will have to archive this character.

I will leave that choice up to you.

That is unfortunate. I have her too firmly in my mind as she is, already. I will have to do these write ups then, rather than completely rewrite the character.

That will, of course, take some time.

I must have misunderstood that specific rule. When I read through the species section, it stated that any species submitted there could be used by any player, so I thought that is optional.

If you're referring to the caveat in the Approved Species List, unfortunately that's talking about species that already exist in Star Wars. Since the number of species in Star Wars is so vast, it's hard to make a comprehensive list. The problem here is that the Karta'Esh are a fanon creation, so we don't even have legends content to reference what they are.

I am going archive this character. Feel free to resubmit it when you have made the requisite writeups.
