BIOGRAPHY
He was cast out by the village as soon as possible following their deaths. Out in the wilderness alone he had to learn to survive by hunting, fishing and harvesting that he just started to learn from his family until his death. Later in desperation he stole from nearby communities, evading security measures and their pursuit for him for the next five years.
Eventually he earned unexpected attention. A group of skilled trackers led by a capable leader hunted the boy and despite his best efforts Ryū was caught.
Instead of punishment or death the leader revealed himself to be his older half brother Hiroshi and the new head of the fierce Kasai Clan. Upon their father's passing Hiroshi had learned about his younger sibling through reports and decided to bring him home to the planetary capital as a new member of the clan.
Bewildered and wary Ryū slowly began to trust his brother and they truly became family while the latter taught much from how to fight, drive fly starships and street life and provide a decent education by galactic standards.
Around this time he was paired with an Zabrak youth named Verti Rovro who was indebted to the clan. For a time they were rivals that constantly got on each other‘s nerves before becoming friends then later much more. By age twenty he became one of Hiroshi's most trusted enforcers hunting those who crossed their clan or fighting by his side against various rivals.
Yet still in his soul Ryū wasn't completely satisfied especially with how many in the clan and other ones resented his presence and Hiroshi noticed as well. It became more evident as his older brother finally married to a wife named Maki who had a child on the way. Seeing their chance, the retainers try to push their leader against Ryū as at best a liability and at worse a threat.
One day the brothers had a long conversation about it with Hiroshi renewed their bond in spite of everything and Ryū was moved by his brother's loyalty. Yet in a separate conversation Verti argued with him that they should seek out their own fortunes in the galaxy but Ryū hesitated despite his strong desire for it due to not wanting to leave his remaining family.
Everything changed following an assassination attempt against him two days later. Ryū pretended to be dead hunting his would-be killers until they were eliminated. By then he and Verti decided to maintain ‘his death’ while secretly bidding Hiroshi farewell and they went off-world after marrying one another in a private ceremony. Taking on the bounty hunting profession Ryū created a new persona for himself, Hantā while partnering with Verti as a hunter team.
Personality
He is determined in his goals and ruthless in the execution of them. Underneath that hardness Ryū feels remorse for leaving his brother behind but at the same time wants to take advantage of the freedom of making his own way amongst the stars with Verti. The latter is the only one whom he gives devotion outside the Kasai clan.
