I eagerly invite feedback. I'd like to get a few suggestions, or at least a few other eyes on this before I apply to the Order and start roleplaying. Thank you everyone in advance!
NAME: Kast Nalro
FACTION: The Jedi Order
RANK: Jedi Knight
SPECIES: Kel Dor
AGE: 19
GENDER: Male
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes - Trained
APPEARANCE:
Kast is of average height for a member for his race, which places him at about 1.5 meters. He is of healthy weight and has light crimson skin. Like all members of the Kel Dor race, Kast wears a mask and eye goggles to accommodate to conditions other than that of his home world. An encounter with the wildlife of his homeworld during his extreme youth left him with a permanent scar which runs diagonally from his right clavicle up to his left jaw bone.
Under his jedi robes he wears a basic chest plate to protect him from a limited number of low level blaster shots.
ATTRIBUTES:
Kast is a powerful force user who acclimated naturally to the Force aspect of Jedi training. He delights in force meditation and all other methods of study which enlighten him to the true nature of the Force, and thus, the universe. He is proficient at healing with the force as well as using the Force to confuse and/or disorient his opponents for slightly longer than most Jedi.
Kast (just barely) passed his tests in lightsaber combat during his time on the Peacekeeper, though that is about all that can be said for his dueling talent. He finds dueling to be barbaric - an unfortunate necessity to deal with the Sith. Because of his dislike of lightsaber combat, Kast often neglected his dueling lessons to study the force in the ship archives. As a result of this attitude, Kast's ability with a lightsaber are subpar. He would lose almost any duel with a sith one-on-one, once fatigue set in and his force abilities began to fail him. Naturally, his role in battle is that of support rather than assault.
Like most Kel Dor, Kast's extrasensory organs grant him heightened reflexes which come at the cost of low constitution. He can move quickly, but after just a few blows he will find himself unable to continue fighting. His combat strategy is that of attrition - outlast the opponent, then strike when they tire.
Kast Nalro is highly intelligent and would probably never leave the Peacekeeper's Archives if the Sith weren't such a current threat. His cunning can serve to make him a valuable asset in the field so long as he is not placed on the front lines where his lack of physical strength would begin to show.
Nalro's Jedi training regiment kept him in good shape, granting him the stamina he needs to survive in the field and compensate for his lack of brute strength or skill at lightsaber combat.
PERSONALITY:
Kast Nalro found himself completely seduced by the Jedi's often stoic manner of conducting their business and tries his absolute best to emulate it. Because of his eager and intense study of the Force from both scholarly and practical viewpoints, Kast has a fairly good hold on controlling his emotions. Many might say he seems almost like a robot when first met, though he does have a temper that gets the best of him on the rare occasion. While his head may be absolutely alive with thoughts and analysis, he rarely allows this to show through his calm and collected outer shell.
Nalro is formal to a fault, and wouldn't be caught dead addressing a superior in even so much as a friendly tone - even in the heat of battle. This can often cause frustration among Kast's contemporaries, as he has not quite gotten a grasp on the idea that formality is flexible on some occasions. Sentiment such as "Rules were made to be broken" would shock and disgust Kast Nalro.
BIOGRAPHY:
Kast had an average childhood on the planet of Dorin before a Jedi Knight would wander through and discover a Force Sensitivity in the young child.
Kast was discovered by the order during an encounter with a predator in the rural area around his boyhood home. At 4 years old, like just about everyone, Kast was an abrasive and head strong child. One afternoon, when his parents turned the most brief of blind eyes to their son, Kast escaped the house and wandered in to the woods. He was mauled by a ferocious predator, and survived only because he was able to tap in to the Force in a moment of passion and throw the beast a few feet away from himself. Luckily, a Jedi burst through the underbrush at that exact moment and killed the beast, saving Nalro's life. The encounter earned him a scar to remind him what came of neglecting the rules.
The Jedi - a human - healed his wound and returned him to his parents. The Knight was usually stationed on the Peacekeeper, but was sent on a mission to find Force Sensitives throughout the galaxy. After much coercion and pleading, the Knight was able to convince Nalro's parents to relinquish custody of the child to the Order. Kast has not seen them since.
With a few other children found by the knight, Kast was taken to the Peacekeeper where he received his training in the ways of the force. He found himself fascinated by the nature of the Force. He saw it at first as a means to unlock the secrets of all existence. Over the course of his training, this view matured. He learned to respect the Force itself for what it is, and devoted any spare time to studying its nature.
To the chagrin of his Masters, Kast never took much of an interest in his combat lessons save when the Force was involved. He never rose above "barely adequate" marks on his combat tests, though none of his fellow students could argue that he was the most proficient at utilizing the Force to accomplish his goals. Kast knew that pride was the first step on the path to the Dark Side, and tried to keep himself humble, although when a student failed to understand the Force in some way, he often found himself smirking. The bruises he so often collected in combat training helped to keep him modest.
Kast was assigned to a support role in combat simulations, at which he excelled. While his contemporaries were busy hacking away at soldiers and fellow Force wielders, Kast would be in the background; protecting their weakspots, healing whatever wounds they accrued. He was immensely satisfied with his combat position even though each simulation left him exhausted.
Nalro has only recently passed the rank of Padawan and onto that of Knight. In fact, he has yet to embark on his first real mission. He is stationed aboard the Peacekeeper, ready and eager to ship out.
SKILLS:
Kast is highly proficient at Force healing. He is pursuing the field of Status Effects. Though he is not a master of the techniques at any rate, he is further advanced then most other newly minted Jedi Knights. He continues to study the practice in his spare time.
He has an efficient working knowledge of Force Telekinesis, and is skilled at mental manipulation - although he draws a strict line at what is acceptable.
He is proficient enough with a lightsaber to ward off an enemy's attacks for a limited amount of time until help arrives, but he is no real threat in a one - on - one duel if you can keep him from utilizing his Force abilities.
GEAR:
I know generic stuff doesn't require a write up, but this seems like the fitting place to put this - his lightsaber is green!
