Personal History

Katra Bell was born in the lower-level slums of the city-planet Coruscant to parents long since gone from her life. Her parents, being vagabonds of the less financially-endowed variety, didn't receive the medical treatment necessary for a safe birth, and her mother took her last breath as Katra took her first. Her father, grief-stricken, gave his newborn daughter to a friend from the cantina and used the last of the family's credits to book passage for himself on a ship headed to the Outer Rim and never looked back.

Katra's adoptive father was not a bad man, but he had his own problems - a compulsive gambler, he frequently wagered away more credits than he brought in, and before Katra was ten years of age she had been roped into questionably legal activities (mostly theft on a scale ranging from pickpocketing to shoplifting) for the sake of putting food on the table. She got her first blaster when she was 12, and by 13 was able to disassemble and reassemble it blindfolded, not to mention put it to use. She didn't like to use it on other beings, but when you're cornered down a dead-end alley by a Coruscani ogre three or four times your size, a vibroknife just isn't going to help that much. Being on the small side for a member of her species, Katra learned to rely on her speed, dexterity, and quick thinking over weaponry anyway, and though not trained in the use of the Force, her innate sensitivity to it may have helped her out of the occasional sticky situation.

When Katra was 15, her adoptive father's gambling debts finally caught up to him. He had borrowed money from a small-time crime boss, and since he didn't have the credits he owed when the thugs came to collect, he paid with his life instead. For all his failings, he had done one thing right - neither the crime boss nor his thugs knew anything about Katra, and she was able to slip away without being noticed. With only her blaster, vibroknife, and the clothes on her back, she left the apartment she'd grown up in and hasn't been back since.

Recently, Katra has started working with the Coruscant branch of the Black Tail Mafia as an informer and occasional blaster-for-hire in exchange for the relative safety of having friends in high places.

Personality, Values, and Goals

At 17 Galactic Standard years of age, Katra could be called "wise beyond her years". This is a polite way of saying she's jaded and street smart, well-versed in the realities of life in the slums. She is decisive, rarely stopping to doubt herself once she's set a plan into motion - sometimes to the point of being dangerously impulsive. She trusts her gut instincts and intuition above all else, relying on a combination of hard-earned reflexes, untrained and often unrealized Force Sensitivity, and sheer luck to see her through to the end of the day. A traveler without a ship, she feeds her restless curiosity by exploring the lower slums and sewers of Coruscant in search of... well, she's not exactly sure what. She'll know it when she finds it. She has a habit of pocketing interesting trinkets, either to barter for a handful of credits or to stash in the abandoned back-alley warehouse she calls home (really more of a duracrete cave with a door than a real building, but it keeps the majority of the corridor ghouls out).

Though she definitely looks out for herself first and anyone else second, Katra does have a reasonably strong sense of justice and morality. She's not in the habit of playing vigilante or being the big hero, but she does what she can - she won't break up an unfair fight but she'll guide the loser to the nearest safe area or clinic to get help. She does keep an eye out for some of the younger urchins when she can, and on the rare occasion that she has any extra food or credits for medicine she'll gladly share with those in need (though she may ask for a favor or service in return, depending on the situation). In a similar vein, she would definitely prefer to get her income through salvaging and selling what she can find, doing odd jobs like blaster repairs or message-running, or trading information for credits when she can, but she's a skilled "thing-finder" (pickpocket) and isn't above employing her less ethical talents when she runs across a more affluent member of society who's come down to observe the so-called wildlife.

She'd never admit it to anyone, but Katra's secret dream is to someday acquire a ship of her own and leave Coruscant forever. In her cartilaginous "bones" there is a yearning to take to the stars in search of the lost Vahla homeworld, but her wish is so far removed from her reality that she tries to push it away rather than spend her time dreaming of something she can never truly have.

It's probably best to remove the oxidizer from your listed gear until it gets approved. Assuming it's approved and not an advanced piece of tech, you can add it back to your sheet without the need for a reapproval or anything like that.
