APPEARANCE:
Kaylara Dornelles is relatively tall compared to her human peers, standing at around 5’7”. One of the most notable traits she possesses is her striking blue eyes, reflecting her calm and composed nature. She has blonde hair, that is usually kept in a small bun or ponytail, with two loose braids falling on either side of her face. Not counting a few various scars and markings, Kaylara has no distinct or very noticeable blemishes.
ATTRIBUTES:
Being trained as a Jedi since childhood, Kaylara has mastered the basic fundamentals of what it means to be a Jedi and how to control the Force. While being comfortable with using a lightsaber, it is not a particular area in which she excels, instead focusing mainly on using the Force, and committing herself to the pursuit of knowledge, preferring the library to the battlefield. Unlike a few Jedi she knows at the temple who rather flippantly enjoy using their powers and knowledge of the force frequently, Kaylara instead focuses on using when necessary, training herself physically as much as mentally. Her weaknesses largely relate to her somewhat below average at close combat, whether with a lightsaber or not. Importantly though, she realizes its not an area where she excels and is focused on working on it to balance her abilities.
Strength: Fairly strong, though not considered her best asset
Constitution: Always healthy and trains regularly to keep up a good endurance.
Dexterity: Not the quickest in combat, but she knows how to look after herself.
Intelligence: Being naturally intelligent is something Kaylara, sometimes to a fault, prides herself in being. She’s quick witted, and finds strength in her intellect.
Wisdom: Similar to her intelligence, Kaylara enjoys her studies and frequently looks a problems in multiple ways and different angles. This can be a detriment however, as she sometimes over complicates things for herself.
Charisma: Not the most outgoing person, Kaylara isn’t quick to make friends, often seeming a little standoffish, though not intentionally so.
PERSONALITY:
While she often appears bored or unexcited, this is usually not the case. Kaylara genuinely enjoys most things that she does; it’s just that she portrays the image of someone who is bored or disinterested with what they are doing, not being the greatest at picking up on social cues. As a cause of this, many people have difficulty detecting what kind of mood she is in. Displaying some anti-social tendencies, Kaylara isn’t one to approach a person and engage in conversation. Most people find however that, as they get to know her, she turns out to be a nice person who is relatively friendly.
BIOGRAPHY:
As a child, Kaylara’s parents knew their daughter was different than most, but never expected her to have sensitivities to the force. Hailing from Coronet City on the world of Corellia, Kaylara’s family had a modest background. Her father worked in one of the local spaceports as a mechanic and purveyor of related mechanical pieces of equipment. Often accompanying her father to his shop, Kaylara enjoyed studying the ships her father worked on, and played her family’s astromech droid B8-7RQ dreaming of travelling the stars. Attending local schools in the city, her parents found their daughter progressing quicker than her classmates, and often showing potential to be force sensitive, bringing in travelling Jedi to observe her. Giving their recommendation that she be immediately sent to a Jedi temple for training, her parents made the difficult decision to send their only child of to train with the Jedi.
At first resenting her parents for what she considered in her young mind as abandonment, Kaylara grew to appreciate their selfless action and committed herself to becoming a first rate Jedi. She studied at the temple on Tython and found herself immersed in what it meant to be a Jedi. While spending more time in the temples library than working on her sabre training outside, she often missed connecting with her fellow Jedi peers, instead, being lost in a book or a holorecording (the librarian was her first friend). During her later padawan stages, Kaylara was assigned to train with a Jedi Master with a somewhat different skill set than hers, attempting to correct, or rather, balance, her one sided tendencies to focus on knowledge and intelligence. Master Pyon-Sell focused on training her combat skills, and adapting to unforeseen challenges, putting her in situations where one couldn’t use their knowledge or intellect to solve the problem. Initially being rather upset with his style of teaching and his opposite focus, Kaylara understood, and grew to be a better Jedi as a cause of it, eventually passing the trials and becoming a Knight.
